Duck banh mi was so, so good. Moist, fresh, and hugely generous portion of meat for $ 5 or $ 6. Definitely made it to my hit list for when I’m starving and don’t have lunch plans at work. Filed under: gems discovered via Unilocal.Thank you crowd-sourced data!!!

What ever sandwich you get… You will be happy and definitely satisfied! Friendly Clean Fast And generous I got the combination and will probably keep up as a loyal customer as long as they’re here.

Whatttt. Ordered 2 sandwiches, two drinks and 1 pandan waffle. It took about 20 minutes for us to get the entire order. The pandan waffle came last, and it was served burnt. I brought it back saying it was burnt and they said«it’s just a little crunchy» I told them directly I needed another one. Eh there’s a lot of better places around here, don’t waste your time or money.

Looking for dessert after some delicious Korean BBQ nearby so we needed something sweet to cool us off. Boy did we hit the jackpot when we got here. It’s not only milk tea but Vietnamese style dessert as well. I had a milk tea and my dining companion had dessert. I must admit, I was envious. Dessert looks so good. For those of you not familiar with Vientnamese«Chi», you get to pick a base, usually ice, and top off with lots of other sweet items. It’s really fun and delicious! They also feature Vietnamese sandwiches — Banh Mi, which we did not try as we were already full from Korean Food. Definitely a try next time. The restaurant is clean and the ambiance fun and relaxing. It’s in a mall with a lot of other restaurants so it’s in a perfect location. Plenty of parking. What a fun spot!!! Want to try all the restaurants in this fairly new mall. Sweet Coco is a perfect place to stop by afterwards for some great milk tea or Vietnamese dessert.

I agree wholeheartedly with Frank L.‘s review of the sandwiches. My BF raves about this place since he used to go here all the time(and even DoorDashed it) to get his banh mi fix back when he was working at Telsa in Fremont. I finally tried it over the weekend and I did not see the hype… at all. I ordered a «Ham Combo» which the girl behind the counter said is representative of a «banh mi thit nguoi». The sandwich was wide, with a nice crunch on the bread. But like Frank L. mentioned, it did not taste like a traditional banh mi sandwich. The steamed pork(cha) was fine, but the thit nguoi tasted a little more like underseasoned bacon/pork belly. The meat was also lacking as most of it is veggies. Also, the entire sandwich was overpowered by numerous thick slices of cucumber that you couldn’t even taste the pickled daikon and carrots. I also decided to order a Che dessert. I like that they have endless toppings and a build-your-own option. I have been craving the Che that I usually get at BAMBU so I decided to replicate it: basil seeds, pandan jelly, boba, longan, and coconut slices in coconut juice. The Che dessert was $ 5.50 which is more expensive than BAMBU and you get less of each ingredient. Service was nice and friendly but EXTREMELY slow. I wouldn’t go out of my way for this place. 3 regular size sandwiches + 1 Che dessert = $ 25. At least they accept credit card here.

The first time I tried Vietnamese sandwich was at Lees Sandwich. I didn’t really like their BBQ pork because it was cooked differently than I was used to. My first impression going to Sweet Coco was good. I ordered a regular BBQ pork and rainbow tea. The size of their regular sandwich is bigger than your average sandwich. A couple of my coworkers ordered a large and its comparable to a foot long. The rainbow tea comes with pearls, jack fruit, lychee, mango, rainbow jelly and other toppings. The tea didn’t have any flavor so I’ll try the rose tea on my next visit. My total came out to around $ 9.00. This place does accept credit cards but there is a $ 0.35 fee if it’s under $ 10.00. I suggest you bring CASH or make sure you order everything all at once so that you’ll only be charge once for the fee instead of making multiple transactions. They also offer several lunch combo specials for around $ 7.00 with a choice of a sandwich with either milk tea or tea. The place is small and there’s not a lot of seating area. Finding parking here is a disaster. Good luck finding parking during lunch hours and beware of crazy drivers. So just be on a look out!!! Anyhow, the following day I was actually craving a Vietnamese sandwich. I was shocked on how much I really like this place especially for someone who wasn’t a fond of Vietnamese sandwiches.

TLDR: Nice big tables to hangout in, service is a bit slow, Pandan waffle is delicious. We came here to meet up with a friend for some board games. The décor inside was not as fancy and upscale as most of the boba places but there are nice big tables for all your gaming, or hanging out needs. I usually get jasmine milk tea, but for some reason I felt like trying something new that day. I ended up ordering a jackfruit smoothie and a Pandan waffle because it smelled so good. It took a while for the food to be prepared. Several pandan waffles went out before mine was done, it looked like I had picked a popular item. When I finally got my food, I realized why everyone kept ordering the waffle. It was so warm and fluffy and delicious and cheaper than most of the drinks there. I’m definitely ordering it again if I go back there.

5 stars for their customizable desserts and keeping up with the great service I experienced when this store first opened 5 years ago. The lady that I met is no longer here, but the employees now are just as nice and friendly. I will typically order a waffle, che, or banh mi. I think their bread is absolutely great, and recommend shredded chicken. I also like steamed pork but I don’t feel like they put enough of it, so I’d rather get that somewhere else.

My super thoughtful hubby decided to surprise me with boba at work and when he saw that Sweet CoCo had such good reviews, he thought it would be a good idea to try something different. Because I didn’t go with him, I can’t say much about the interior of the place, but he told me it was super close to one of our favorite boba spots, T4, so I assume parking is abundant, but compact. The cup itself didn’t look very spectacular. It was just a plain ol’ plastic cup with a plain ol’ plastic lid(not the pop-able lid). Honestly, who could even tell this was a drink from Sweet CoCo? There wasn’t any kind of design or name on it at all! Knowing me super well, he ordered the jasmine milk tea with grass jelly. Color-wise, the tea looked normal, but that first sip was BLEGH. Ironically from a place called Sweet CoCo, there was NOSWEETNESS in my drink. It was so horribly bland that even calling it a «tea» was a stretch. The grass jelly wasn’t any better either. I can’t believe we actually bought a cup of water and black gelatin. What a waste… This was the first time I was thankful a boba cup was small so that I didn’t feel so bad forgoing all of it. So, sorry Sweet CoCo, but sweet you are not.

my friend has been raving about this place since forever and I just recently tried it and I think the banh mi is better than the ones in San Jose!!! the sandwiches are bigger and only $ 6 for a large! the sandwiches are as big as my forearm. i prefer less crispy bread because I hate it when the bread is too hard and cuts the roof of my mouth. the owner is so sweet here too, she’s always happy to serve you and always has a smile on her face :)

Largest banh mi I’ve ever had and it was only $ 6.50! Not only is it ~12inches long, it also tastes delicious. The flavorful grilled beef paired well with the fresh baguette. I was pretty stuffed after eating the entire thing.

I really wanted to like this place, but it still falls short of what I had hoped. Kind of reminds me of BAMBU, with the types of Vietnamese drinks and dishes you could get here. I got a taro milk tea with rainbow jelly, lychee and boba. It was overly sweet in my opinion, and not enough toppings. Apparently a year+ ago they removed the monster challenge… MUCHSADNESS. Service was meh and the guy was very overworked even though he was the only guy working… not sure what everyone else is doing in the back. I would be hesitant to come here again, since Fremont doesn’t lack boba places that are better than this. Management was unorganized but I do appreciate the cleanliness of the place! P. S. Parking is abundant, since it’s in a plaza.

The lady working is SOSWEET! I got a Jasmine Milk Tea 50% sugar. It was not sweet at all and the flavor of the tea was very wholesome. Not your typical light, flowery jasmine. Nonetheless it was great. If you want less sugar but would like to taste that sugar. Go for somewhere between 50−100% sweet. My boyfriend got their #1 Che — smashed avocado. I hate mashed up avocados(che, smoothie, etc.) BUT this is GOOD. I don’t like it, but I don’t hate it. Wouldn’t get it myself, but would encourage all avocado lovers to get it so I can have one bite. ;) Parking is difficult in this plaza since its land of Asia in this part of Fremont. Every asian plaza will be full. Come for Che, Waffles, and BANHMI. Sandwiches are a great size! :)

Update 1÷31÷16 4 stars to 5 stars because when I came in I had a tiring day and just expected to grab a drink and go. But then I was addressed by the sweet lady at the counter with the biggest smile and it actually changed my mood so quickly. She was so happy to give me great customer service and I’m so glad I stopped by again! I really appreciate businesses like this that care about their customers even if it’s something so simple as giving them a huge smile. Please continue to do this! :)

if you can safely navigate your way out of the horrid parking lot and manage to find Sweet CoCo nestled in the corner beside an Asian knickknack store, then you can experience some surprisingly great food/drink. First off, the sandwiches are cheap, delicious, and filling. A French roll needs good crisp and Sweet CoCo does this expertly. Everything else inside was good but I do confess that the meat lacked seasoning. But, for less than $ 5 you get a very good meal. I’ve only ever had the basic milk teas, but all flavors I’ve tried have been good. The coffee milk tea is a must-try. My major gripe? The service is a hit-or-miss veering toward the miss. I’ve eaten here on several occasion and have found myself mired in an insufferably long wait, even when there’s hardly a crowd.

I had bookmarked this place for a while and finally got a chance to come here like 3 times in one week. lol For me, I think this is better then Bambu for three reasons: 1. no horrible language barriers, 2. fresher dessert toppings, and 3. cleaner environment. I was never a fan of Vietnamese dessert because it was too sweet for me. Some people can have really sweet and some cannot. I am one of those who cannot. You can customized your dessert here by first choosing your dessert base, which normally is coconut juice but they have like several different options. I always get green tea with less sugar topped with lychee, logan, grass jelly, jack fruit, mango jelly, and mung bean. Its probably better with coconut juice but I like the green tea better for me. Yum! If you get the pre-selected desserts or customized your own with unlimited toppings the price is $ 4.00-$ 5.00. I can load mines up and its just flat $ 4.50. It is worth it for me. Overall my go to place for Asian desserts.

My friend loves this place and always told me to try it but I was hesitant because I’m not a fan of a lot of the ingredients they put in che. However, I was pleasantly surprised when I found out you can customize your own drink here! They have a wide variety of ingredients to choose from. I always get coconut milk as the base and I like how they can adjust the sweetness for you too. Another thing I love here is the pandan waffles! I haven’t found that many places in Fremont that make them, so I’m glad I stumbled across it here. The waffle definitely can’t be compared to the ones you get in San Jose, but they do satisfy my pandan waffle cravings. The ladies that work here are always so nice and helpful. I’ll definitely be coming back here more in the future. Sweet CoCo is a refreshing change from all the boba/milk tea that I consume on a weekly basis.

If you don’t want to drive to South Bay, Sweet Coco is the closest option for good banh mi. I think they’re better known for their che, which my friends tell me is great, but I’ve only tried the banh mi and green waffles so far. The customer service is always sweet and friendly, though there can occasionally be a little bit of a language barrier. BANHMI(~4): The key to their banh mi is the bread. It’s fresh and crusty, but soft enough that it doesn’t cut into the roof of your mouth. Each sandwich is packed to the brim with meat, pickled and fresh vegetables(cucumber, onion, jalapeño, cilantro, carrot, daikon), a little mayo, and pâté. They have a variety of options to choose from for meat, ranging from duck to pâté to steamed pork. My favorite so far has been the BBQ pork. It’s like having the fillings of a charsiu bao in sandwich form! GREENWAFFLES($ 2): Another thing I love here: the green waffles! I highly recommend these if you’ve never tried them before. They’re made of pandan, which has a similar taste to coconut, and are just delicious as a snack or dessert. Last notes: they do take credit card, but there is a $ 0.35 charge for purchases under $ 10. Not a big deal if you ask me, but good to keep in mind.
