Designs for Tranquility has such a relaxing atmosphere when you first enter there & don’t ever want to leave. The owner Jill always has sucha welcoming smile when you enter her amazing shop. I was so impressed the first time that I had gone there which was a few years back & and I bought a copper water fountain. The fountain is still running perfectly with the knowledge that Jills brings to her shop. She educates everyone very well on the designers & what they make and how they actually make it. I stopped by again today to visit and say hello & there is never no sales pressure like some places show. She let’s you browse around her oasis to enjoy her lovely place. She showed me today a buhda board for relaxation & I purchased it for my son who loves to draw. My son loved it when he saw it thanks to Jill. Her shop is filled with beautiful items that are selected by Jill from her designers. She has a very good sense of picking the best. I would highly recommend stopping by in you are in Frenchtown. Better yet it is worth the trip even if you are coming from far like I do. You will defineately not be disappointed at all with this shop. It sets the tone how you should really live your life every single day. A great shop indeed. Will keep shopping there and as a matter of fact I saw a great handbag made in a silver mesh handdone by another artisian that was very unique & different. Next time I’m in town I think I just might pick it up. It is gorgeous! Thanks Jill & keep up the good work! A very happy and satified camper for sure!

This was our first visit to Designs for Tranquility. I found it on Unilocal, and it caught my attention because the gallery’s web site stated«fine art and craft that soothes», and the items pictured were beautiful. When we got to the gallery, it met all our expectations. We literally didn’t want to leave, and even went back later in the day because we thought we may have missed something. The proprietor, who is quite personable, has exquisite taste and seems to have a sixth sense when it comes to choosing beautiful and tranquil items. She knows an extensive history of each artist and the items they produce. She showed us these small paintings done by a family of artists from Iran who literally use two bristles on a brush to paint the intricate pictures. There’s a lovely, peaceful wall fountain I long to buy as soon as I can figure if I have a place to hang it. I left with a beautiful copper necklace made by a woman in Hawaii who uses only recycled items, and an outdoor painting that can withstand all sorts of weather.
