Lulu’s is a top flight bakery amidst New York’s bountiful bakery scene. Lulu’s standout to me because of its creativity and attention to detail. Recently, I picked up some hamentashen cookies and a Nutella brownie cake. I liked that the basic flavors of hamentashen were offered like prune, apricot, and raspberry, but I was more so impressed by the Nutella hamentashen. The brownie cake was one of the most visually appealing yet affordable baked goods that I’ve come across. It was rich and chocolatey; basically, the perfect brownie. Check out Adventures of a NY Foodie for pictures — . I’d rate it four and a half stars.

The baked goods here are great! I’ve only ever disliked on tiny cake that I’ve gotten(a gorgeous chocolate sphere with bead-like decorations), but everything else has been a hit! The people who work here are super sweet, and on Halloween, they give trick-or-treaters huge cookies, which is super sweet of them!

Came here with a friend to pick up some pastries! It’s located in the same neighborhood as St. John’s but it is still quite a walk to get there from campus(~15 mins). The place is pretty small with only two tables to sit at so its definitely more popular to get the pastries to go. All of the pastries were very neatly arranged in the counters so it makes it easier to choose what to get. The ladies there were all nice except for one who had a very brash attitude and kept on rushing us to decide what to get… Seriously chill… The worst thing was that she plastered a fake smile at the end after having given us such an attitude… As for the desserts themselves, I opted for the rainbow cookies and the cannolis and I found them both to be very delicious, especially the cannolis! 3 of each ended up being a little less than $ 6, which I would say is a decent price. Overall, desserts were ok, just the rude lady was a bit of a turnoff.

I’m only in the area a couple times a year, but I always make it a point to come here. Everything I’ve tried has been wonderful. The mini cookies, mini pastries, breads, rolls, danishes, muffins. Yes, I’ve tried quite a bit. I think the mini cookies & pastries are my favorites, because I get a chance to try a bunch of different things. The staff is always friendly. My nieces live this place. They get to pick what they want, which usually includes a cranberry muffin, fruit tart, and of course, mini cookies. Their coffee is pretty good too! Looking forward to my next visit there. Oh, almost forgot to mention. They make custom cakes too. I’ve had a couple of them, and the cake is moist and delicious. I’ll find some pics to post.

One of my favorite bakeries close to home. The bakery isn’t huge but big enough that you’re able to order what you want, pay and leave with ease. There’s also two tables where you can sit and relax if you want to. Lulu’s has it all! Cookies, cakes, tarts, biscottis, hot chocolate, rainbow cookies, cupcakes, everything! The rainbow cookies are a must try along with the sprinkle cookies. They’re just so good!!! I’ve also gotten a few birthday cakes from Lulu’s and you can either walk in and choose from their case or call ahead and order a specialty cake. I’ve done both. They always have a variety of cakes if you choose to walk in and buy, from rainbow cookie cakes, pistachio, tiramisu, etc. If you decide to call ahead you can build your own cake with the help of a knowledgable worker, they really give you all the options and if you’re not sure they give you tips on what pairs well together. I absolutely love the custards they use for their cakes, so rich and tasty without the feeling that you’re going to get sugar shock. Lulu’s is my go to for all my bakery needs, especially birthday cakes and rainbow cookies!

Love this cute little bakery … the name is as cute as my nickname(lol). The place is recommended by a friend and honestly, has no regrets for trying. Their pastries is the best… each one I would say is not as sweet at it looks… has soft bread as it looks… as beautiful inside and out as it looks … just perfect for any gathering(whether small or large) which happen to be the reason for getting. The presentation is very inviting. It exceeded my expectation and surpassed my current bakery choice level, it has an authentic Italian recipe that I love. Although it is further than my favorite bakeshop, I am willing to drive to try and pick some of their other stuff next time. The location is along Union Turnpike, metered parking is available but some free spot is within the residential area and the bus stop is just right there. It has a small dining area too if you cant wait to get home and sample your purchase.

Not a huge fan of sweets; however, this place is good… I’ve a few of the desserts here… all to go. There are seats inside if you’d like to eat there.

Last Monday, December 28th, the pct where I volunteer, the 111th Pct Auxiliary hosted their Christmas Party at Bourbon Street and we needed a cake. After some quick brainstorming, one of our supervisors decided to get 2 Cannoli Cakes from Lulu’s. I have a HUGE sweet tooth, and I LOVE cannoli’s and I’ve never even heard of a Cannoli Cake. loll so I was definitely excited to try it. Now, back to the party. after about 2.5 hours, finally time for dessert! Waitstaff brought out plates of sliced Cannoli Cake. That cake was AMAZING! Just the right sweetness, not overwhelming. Loved the layer of chocolate ganache inside. Delicious! That cake was the perfect ending to a very fun Christmas Party! :D

This is a great little neighborhood bakery. Their pastries are great tasting and presented well. The place is clean and the workers are always friendly. Our favorites are the rainbow cookies, the fruit tarts and anything with their french cream. Omg the Lobster tail is so good. They have regular size and small ones. They have a nice crisp flaky outside and the french cream inside is so smooth, light and not to sweet. It’s like silky clouds. The coffee here is also great. I always get coffee when I come here to enjoy with my dessert.

The good: They have a large variety of very tasty pastries The bad: The workers are not courteous.. . so I always feel apprehensive about going in there to get any of their pastries. They just look so miserable working there. I’ve been to other family-owned bakeries in NYC where everyone was so happy, and friendly, and it made you want to go there more often. This place does the opposite.

Lu Lu – Skip to my Lu. Skip to my Lu, my darllling! Lulu’s is a good old fashioned Bakery serving quality baked goods. There are very few bakeries that I will visit in Queens. LULU’S raises the bar! For my coworker ’ s retirement party, we sampled a plethora of delicious fruit tarts, Chocolate Dipped Biscotti, Almond Biscotti, Cannolis and my favorite, Carrot Cake topped with fresh Coconut. These bite size pastries were heavenly! Not everyone can make Carrot Cake. The Carrot Cake was moist, filled with brown sugar, fresh carrot and topped with fresh coconut and the right amount of cream cheese frosting. The Chocolate Dipped Biscotti was fresh and not dry. I am hooked and will be back like Arnold S.

Does anyone know if the ingredients for the brioche were changed? I confirmed it with the staff that the recipe itself has not changed. But the brioche tastes a little different to me. Or is it just me? I’m super picky about stuff like this lol. If anyone has any information on this, please let me know. Thank you. Update: I got to speak with the owner and he was very informative and helpful. I tend to be really picky about stuff like this(sorry). He said the ingredients were exactly the same from several years ago(I used to get the brioches regularly in 2012), same brand and everything, and the only change was the honey. I really appreciate the callback. Great service. And great food. Thank you.

Ever since stumbling across this hidden gem on Union Turnpike(close to St. John’s University), I always come here for a yummy treat and to get my friends’ birthday presents here — who doesn’t love baked goods as a present?! Delicious AND affordable. The bakery is clean, colorful, and SMELLSAMAZING. They have a very large selection of baked goods to choose from, from cakes, cookies, cupcakes, to small bite-size treats — everything tastes great. The staff is very helpful, friendly, and efficient. They always customize my orders free of charge when my order is a birthday gift, making it look extra special and meaningful. This is what keeps me coming back. Plus all my friends love everything I’ve gotten them from Lulu’s! If you’re in the area, I highly suggest getting a baked goodie from this cute little bakery.

I can never go wrong when ordering a cake from LULU’s. Everything they have ever made for me gets rave reviews at my parties! Maybe because I have good taste in cake ingredients! The cake de jour this go; Vanilla sponge cake, vanilla tapioca pudding filling mixed with freshly cut strawberries and blueberries with whipped cream topping! Wow!!! There was nothing left except a little of the icing! Fabulous!

Omg! This place has some amazing cakes and pastries and they’re very courteous. I always buy this one came from them it’s chocolate with hazelnut crunch on the inside. It has a yummy chocolate ganache on the outside with edible chocolate decorations. I also had another cake from them, my cousin bought it for one of our family functions. It was a cannoli cake & was really good. I love this place and will continue to buy from them.

Great little bakery in Fresh Meadows, close to SJU. Not huge inside but they have plenty to choose from given their size. On this occasion, we went with a chocolate cream pie and an apricot tart/quiche creation. Both were delicious without feeling too heavy or being too sweet. They have adequate staff to keep the line moving and get you in and out fairly quickly. They also have a nice selection of Italian cookies and cakes as well and I’m looking forward to coming back and trying out some other things next time. I’m usually a huge fan of Buttercooky on Jericho Turnpike but would definitely come back to Lulu’s since it’s closer to me and also because their offerings were good.

This bakery is absolutely amazing. My sister has been going here for years, she rants and raves about everything and when she brings it home I never find fault in why she goes crazy for these treats. From the cookies to the chocolate cakes, everything is amazing. My favorite, by far, are the mini Lulus. The establishment it self, is extremely clean and welcoming. No matter how busy the workers are, they will always great you with a smile and never rush you. Please, you will be doing yourself a dishonor if you haven’t been here yet.

Let’s give it up for my new favorite pastry… THELULU! Oh my, I LOVE it! It’s basically shaped like half a lobster tail with one side exposed and filled with the same type of cream but the texture of the dough is much softer and there’s way less crumbs from eating it too. I will however say the lobster tails at LuLu’s are on point. They inject them with cream in two places to ensure that the tail is perfectly filled with cream from top to bottom. I tried some of the other miniatures that they sell by the pound. The fruit tarts were good and crumbly, not too sweet. The presentation is also fantastic. This is the type of place that you walk in and just want to order one of everything. The mini eclairs were yummy too and I plan to get the full sized ones when I return.

Place is always great. I had no idea how busy it is at 7:30am on a Saturday! I’ve bought many cakes from them… the tiramisu, black and white, strawberry shortcake, and i bought some rainbow cookies and today, the canoli! This place is truly a gem in Queens. I never bought anything here for myself. I always brought Lulu’s pastries to parties. I saw some stuff that I wanted to try out for myself. I wanted to try and buy everything! The display is just mouth-watering. This place can be compared to Martha’s Bakery or even Butter Cookie. Only thing is… Lulu’s is small, compared to the other 2 places. Parking can be a pain since it can be congested for the most part. I do recommend this place. The hours are not as convenient for me as i work a 9 – 5 on wkdays. By the time I get home, they’re ready to close :(i will have to come here on occassion otherwise I would eat myself to death here LOL
