I had my very own Scott Pilgrim moment this afternoon. You know, where Scott’s laying in bed, dreams of Ramona Flowers, wakes, runs to the door and there she is with his Amazon package? So… I’m laying in bed and get an e-mail notification saying my package of delectable Adagio teas has just been delivered. I giggle like a goddamn schoolgirl and bound down the stairs, throw open the front door, only to find the postman standing there, dazed. He hands me the package, pushes the letters he’s holding through the slot in the door. They land on the floor beside my left foot; he turns and leaves. Well, I’m certainly not fighting any of your evil exes, sir. Back to my package! I ordered it the day before yesterday, and here it is. Woo! I’ve had several of their teas in the past, brewed from friends’ stashes, and bought ones from different businesses which sold customized teas they had done through Adagio. This was my first direct purchase. I went with two loose leaf sampler packs(Chai and Nut & Spice, $ 7 each), which come with four resealable bags apiece. Got an extra sample bag of my choice(Earl Grey Lavender) for a Facebook deal they included in my order. Just like all the other times I’ve had Adagio, the ones I’ve got are really freaking delicious and those I haven’t made yet smell pretty great. Apparently their site is Google-trusted, so Google vouches for them and covers your order, as they explained it. Anyway, for a flat rate of $ 3.75 for shipping they did a 2-day rush, notifying me every step of the way. I’m very satisfied with my order and the rate at which it was received.

i just became obsessed with loose teas when i was looking for a replacement for diet soda(i couldn’t iive without the caffeine. they have a wide variety of teas and seem to have more reasonable prices and also sell a great 1-cup tea infuser, easy to clean and use. they are based in fresno so that means 1 day cheap fedex shipping to los angeles.. i suggest you stay away from the sampler packs, which contains some great teas and some very average teas. i have had more luck with their Unilocal style user tea reviews. pick up a few and mix and match to get started.

In all of the online tea communities I’m in, people are always bitching about Adagio’s teas only being ok. Well, if they are only ok, what’s a better distributor? I’m tired of all these tea snobs. I love Adagio teas. I even like their Apricot Green tea and I’m not a huge fan of Greens in general. Their Roobis is great too and again, not a huge fan of Roobis in general. But my fav’s from them are: Silver Needle– white tea– I LOVE white tea and I love this white tea. It has a soft, subtle flavor with a hint of grassy taste. Sublime. Golden Monkey– black tea– This tea, when brewed right, is wonderful! Do not overbrew it! Rich, golden, full bodied. Great. Yunnan Gold– very similiar to Golden Monkey except without the slight peppery flavor of Golden Monkey. Grapefruit– it really tastes like Grapefruit! Heavenly. Jasmine 12. Dear sweet Jasmine 12. Your flavor is too intoxicating to resist yet your price makes my wallet weep. I have yet to find a suitable yet cheaper substitute. Genmai Cha– I don’t care that commoners usually drink you, I love your smokey-ness from the rice mixed with your typical Green flavor. Other awesome things about Adagio: Great looking website, cheap and quick shipping, overall great quality of teas, cool hand out about tea times and temp’s, cute packaging and labeling tea times and temp’s right on the boxes of teas! Please note: Always brew loose leaf tea at the correct time and temperature to capture the best flavor possible.
