I will never go to anybody but Sonia again! She was assistant to Sylvia and she taught her very well. She’s so amazing she took my box black hair and gave me a beautiful light balayage with a bouncy layered cut. More than happy to recommend her to anybody.

I had come in with a photo of how I envisioned my hair, and even though it was something Nikole had never done before, she never hesitated. She even had me come in twice before the wedding, at no charge, to practice on my hair. Something I also appreciated was not being charged more just because I was the bride.
The day of couldn’t have gone better! Alchemy Salon opened super early so they could do all seven of my bridesmaids’ hair and my mom’s too, which they all loved! Thank you so much Nikole for everything! All came out just as we’d hoped.

Sylvia is a magician! She had me at hello and I am so thankful to have met her and her wonderful team. The ambiance at Alchemy Salon is perfection.
I went from brunette, high fashion red, to strawberry blonde in three and a half hours! Seriously, the most flawless transition I could have ever hoped for. I change my mind and have so many crazy ideas… But Sylvia doesn’t blink an eye and always delivers.

I cannot get enough of him!!! He is like a hair god… I am not even over exaggerating. I was recommended to him about two years ago and I am so glad I was. He will take such good care of you hair he listens to what you want and if he dyes your hair he does a great job not frying it like some other stylists do. IDK what he does to make my hair look so healthy and amazing until the next visit (which is every 6 – 8 weeks).
As a salon over all they are very accommodating all around friendly staff they have a makeup artist onsite as well as a manicurist.

Yes I’m guy and I go to a salon, get over it!!! Alchemy Salon is by far the best hair salon and spa in Fresno. Sylvia is by far the sweetest most competent stylist I have ever had by far!!! The experience starts as soon as you pull up to the building. Not some cheesy strip mall, but an actual gorgeous building which is home of Alchemy Salon. Salon is on the 3^rd floor and the views of the surrounding valley are spectacular. The front desk staff are always professional and take care of business. Sylvia knows her trade and always provides the best experience she can. Point blank, she knows how to cut, color, and highlight hair as good as any Top Dollar Hollywood stylist. I can assure you this, you will not be disappointed. Making a decision on where to get your hair done can be daunting, but once you go to Alchemy Salon you will soon put any doubts you have to rest and I assure you, that you will look and feel better than you ever have!!! Fresno should feel extremely proud to have a business like Alchemy Salon!!!

I live 45 mins away in a different city and it’s worth the drive to have Sylvia cut my hair. Alchemy salon is one of the best salons in Fresno!

I was a regular customer of Sylvia’s since Dec 2012. She consistently did an amazing job coloring and styling my hair. The products used at the salon are top notch. Although I always went red (on naturally jet black hair mind you), it always turned out beautifully. Between coloring (every 2 to 3 months) it never turned brassy or orange. I’ve referred family members and friends and they, too, we’re just as impressed as I. I trusted her to try fringe bangs and I loved it! I will miss Sylvia and her assistant Sonia as I’ll be moving 3 hours away :-(I may have to come back to Fresno for Sylvia ;-)

I’ve been going to this salon and Manouge as for about 3 years now, and I can’t say enough about either one! From the time you walk in, to the time you leave, you’re made to feel like you’re the only person in the salon. Not the only person in my family that goes there either. My Mom and Sister both go here and have their hair done by Monouge as well. And now we are visiting the Spa downstairs. My Mom has had two massages there by Jennifer and can’t say enough about it. We won’t be going anywhere else anytime soon!

Made an appointment two weeks ago for a cut and color. They cancelled my appointment the day of and told me they would reschedule for the following day. I walk in for my appointment and the person at the front told me he accidentally made my appointment for the following week and they had no one that could take me.
Don’t live in the area, was here visiting and wanted to get done while on vacation before I had to leave for a 10 day business trip! I had to re-​arrange one of my vacation days to accommodate them as they cancelled me the day of!
I had to go back inside after leaving totally fustrated to see if they could take me the day before leaving for my business trip… they did not even offer another solution to try and help me. I did book for another day and asked if they would compensate me somehow for all my trouble. A few minutes later I get a call from the owner saying she would not compensate me in any way and that its best that she cancels my now third attempt at an appt. as she NEVER gives a discount.
Are they really as great as they think???

Had a wonderful hot stone massage today by Jen. Just the right pressure and just what I needed. I highly recommend her and plan to return.

I’ve been searching Unilocal for the perfect hair salon. Left the Santa Cruz mountains close to two years now, been through a couple of stylists, but neither with the perfect connection… until today.
The Alchemy Salon is the place for me, and Sylvia, the owner, my perfect stlyist! She asked all the right questions during our consultation and I immediately knew I was in good hands. Her assistant, Sonia, was warm and welcoming and gave me the best shampoo in a very long time!
What’s ‘almost’ as bad as a bad haircut? Sitting in the chair trying to think of something to talk about with someone you just met… Not today. Not with Sylvia. I believe she loves what she’s doing and just has that gift of making people feel comfortable and interesting.
Long story short? Right. My hair looks amazing! Not only a great cut and style, but connected with two new amazing and wonderful people.

While getting in my car 15 minutes before my appointment I received a call that went to voice mail saying my appointment was canceled or if would have to wait «a really long time» due to Tina overbooking. So I immediately called back and asked what happened to my appointment and Frankie said «did you understand the voice mail?» and I was shocked with the attitude he had. He explained that Tina overbooked clients and other could still come but it would be a really long time. He didn’t give me an estimate or any type of consolation. So I just said that’s fine and I’ll find somewhere else. I am leaving on vacation tomorrow so there is absolutely no where else for me to go.
This place has wasted my time and efforts. I cancelled many other plans to make my appointment and they call me 15 minutes before and tell me it’s not happening. I am extremely disappointed seeing that it had great reviews. From experience working in customer service is understand all of the things that could go wrong but there was no consolation or apologies. They should have notified me earlier.
I will not come here for any services and I do not recommend.

I absolutely adore Sylvia, the owner of Alchemy and (thankfully) my hair stylist… From the first visit she treated me and my wife like family. Her natural, vibrant energy is as amazing as the skill of her craft. I never fail to feel pampered and gorgeous when I leave. Her assistant Sonia is not only super friendly and adorable, but hands down gave me the best shampoo ever! I can’t say enough about the consistently fantastic experience I have there and how unbelievable my hair looks! As long as Sylvia is perfecting hair she will have a customer with me.

Let me just say that I’ve had bad experiences with bleach. Never would I have thought that my hair would be so soft and manageable after bleaching it a couple of times.
I went from a dark brown to a blond, and I am inlove with the results. My hair feels so amazing that I don’t even have to wash it everyday!
I highly recommend Sylvia. She is so sweet and patient and soooo knowledgable. I’m so happy that I found a hairstylist that knows what they are doing with my hair!

Never have I met a hair expert as sweet, patient, and knowledgable as Sylvia. When I say hair expert, I mean EXPERT.
I went in for an all-​out hair color change early this morning (which is the best time I believe — the atmosphere here is bright & serene until the fresh brewed coffee kicks in and it becomes a high-​energy powerhouse). I went from dark brown to blond, which is such a dramatic change so it took all morning because Sylvia wanted to make sure it turned out perfect — and it did!
Sylvia really handled my hair with care & finesse. She cared so much about keeping my hair healthy, especially because I was bleaching it. She’s also such a delight to talk to while she works her magic.
Her assistant, Sonia, is just lovely! She is without a doubt, a fabulous assistant. She’s incredibly attentive and accommodating (and has amazing hair!).
Overall, I loved my experience here at Alchemy once again. I felt like a superstar and I absolutely LOVE how my hair looks and feels. Here at Alchemy, they really have your best interest in mind.
Sylvia is an artist that paints your hair like a blank canvas, and transforms it into a work of art.
This place is amazing and I highly recommend it for anyone that’s looking for a dramatic change! The experience is well worth the price. I’ll no doubt be returning soon!

LAME. I come from a long line of business people in my family and this place failed to deliver before I could even begin.
I’m new to Fresno so naturally I needed to find a good place to get a trim. I found many good reviews on the stylist Monoug S and decided to call to make an appointment when the receptionist tells me he’s not accepting new clients.
What is the point of maintaining a business if he doesn’t want to accept new clients? What’s the point of reading the reviews about him if he isn’t accepting new clients?
And the way the receptionist said it, she made it seem like you had to be accepted in a special VIP type club.
I guess garbage business mentality is the best Fresno has to offer.
PS Monoug, if you were really that good of a stylist, you wouldn’t be owning a business is Fresno.

Manoug really took his time and asked me all the right questions before starting my color. He does a lot of my friends’ hair and came highly recommended. The salon itself is gorgeous and pristine, and I appreciate all of the amenities that are available for clients. I left with color that had dimension with natural highlights and lowlights. I can’t say enough about this salon or Manoug! I highly recommend it!

I booked two appointments with Nikole, the sweetest hairstylist ever!
The first appointment was a trial run of my wedding day hair. She did a great job re-​creating the hairstyle I brought with me. Then…
I completely changed the hairstyle about 2 weeks before the wedding. Nikole was totally up for the challenge and said it would be no problem. She was right — my hair was fabulous and I felt confident and beautiful all day. She also did my matron of honor’s hair and it turned out awesome. I would highly recommend Nikole if you’re looking for a wedding hair stylist! She’s extremely professional, patient and listens to her clients.
And I can’t forget about Sylvia, the owner! She let my best friend and I use a separate area to store our suitcases and makeup. She kept making sure we had everything we needed to get ready. Now that’s great service!
I loved my experience at Alchemy Salon and I will definitely go back when I am due for a haircut!
