Don’t do it. You can make better Mexican food yourself, no matter how much you suck at cooking. And you’ll save 30 mins of waiting. I honestly don’t know how this place is still open.

Don’t let Arsenio’s appearance as a fast food restaurant dissuade you from trying it: their food is excellent! My husband and I popped in there last night while traveling through Fresno. He had a #7 burrito plate and I had 2 a la carte tacos. Both were excellent. The burritos were some of the best I’ve ever had! The salsa(2 types) were very good. The refried beans were homemade-tasting(I make my own and know the difference between homemade and canned). There was way too much food; for $ 20, we brought home half of it. The restaurant itself is out of date and has a fast food atmosphere(disposable plates and cutlery, old furnishings) but the food is QUITE delicious. Want fancy? Don’t go there. Want tasty with large quantities(or share an entrée!), definitely try Arsenio’s.

Disgusting food. I got food poisoning here TWICE. The first time I ordered a chicken burrito and it was all bad from then on for about 24 hours. Then, my friend got me a chicken burrito from here(I wasn’t aware it was from here at the moment) and I got food poisoning again and felt so upset to my stomach, I couldn’t eat for 4 – 5 days. I only drank tea and water. DONOTCOMEHERE.

If you’re looking for late-night munchies this isn’t the place because they close earlier than their posted hours.

I LOVE Mexican food! I’ve been looking for a «go to» Mexican restaurant in Fresno, BUT this isn’t the«go to» place. Pros: Cashier was friendly & patient as I perused through their specials and their extensive menu. I didn’t feel rushed or pressured to make a hasty decision. The restaurant was pretty clean & their condiments were«so so». They have two different red sauces, a green sauce, and a pico de gallo sauce — none of them were spicy enough for my liking or spectacular or bursting with flavor… just mediocre. They also have pickled carrots, onions & refreshingly crisp, sliced radishes — definitely all pluses. Cons: At the condiments bar they had a few large slices of lemon instead of an abundant supply of limon… a Mexican restaurant should ALWAYS have TONS of lime for their food and cold cervezas. The carne asada tacos were bland, the corn tortillas they were on top were chewy & the carnitas tacos were even more bland than the carne asada. A previous Unilocaler mentioned that the refried beans were bland & the melted cheese was partially melted, which I completely agree with. Bottom line is that this place is ok. Not bad. Not great. Just ok.

To start I am a culinary graduate and have been working in the industry for over 5 years. With that being said, I’m speaking as not only as a customer but a trained chef. I’ve been coming to Arsenio’s for maybe about 6 months now, but only for breakfast. As far as breakfast I have no complaints. This review is based on two completely different events. 1.) So a few months back I decided to come in for lunch and I don’t remember what I ordered but this isn’t about the food, it’s about the customer service. I paid for my order and everything seemed fine. I check my bank statement a day or two later and noticed they had charged me twice: one order for $ 24 and my lunch order of $ 12. Completely confused, the very next day I go in and explain what happened(To the same guy who TOOK my order by the way.) and he has no idea why. I asked to speak with a manager but there wasn’t one there. He said she’s only there in the mornings for like 3hrs or something along those lines. I went in one other time and called a few times… but nothing ever came from it. I finally got tired of arguing and chasing. Horrible customer service. 2.) After the last time I got lunch there I vowed never to go there. Well tonight my fiancé and I really wanted Mexican food and so we decided to give it one last chance. So we go through the drive through and my finance gets an asada quesadilla and I originally asked to get the two burrito plate and sub chicken for beef. They said no. Why?! Chicken SHOULD be a cheaper than beef. Either they were lazy about it or their beef is THAT cheap. Anyways, so I just got a grilled chicken burrito. We paid(waited for 10min but that’s all the times… whole other issue) and went home. My fiancé’s quesadilla was super greasy. there was literally a pool of grease in the container. Then there was my burrito… greasy, the chicken was super dark brown and didn’t fully taste like chicken. I honestly thought it was asada at first. Our order was $ 20 but seriously not worth it. Last time I will be getting any kind of food from them. Horrible customer service and terrible food. I’m done with this place. There’s been a lot of other Instances but these were the main two that really put a bad taste in my mouth… literally.

This place is just alright. They open at 6 am so it is a reliable spot for breakfast. The food is nothing special but it isn’t bad. Place is clean inside and staff is friendly.

I’ve been here a few times and it has been consistently good. Just had the chicken enchilada plate and really enjoyed it– huge chunks of tender chicken. The calamari burrito was tasty too. I gave up on the Clovis Ave location after several bad meals. Glad this location didn’t disappoint.

Went in last night. Ordered a carne asada burrito. Started eating and realized the carne asada was burned, tasted horrible, and looked like ground beef that was cooked for an hour. Paid $ 9 for something that was less tasty than Taco Bell. Was expecting a lot more from Arsenio’s. I’ll stick with Robertito’s.

This place is alright. I’ve had a few breakfast burritos and the chicken burrito. This isn’t a fine dining restaurant like others in the area but it’s ok for the price. I don’t think I’ve spent more than $ 8 bucks.

I HATE this place. They never answer their phone and they’re inconsistent. Sometimes I go and my order is just as I ask then sometimes it’s different. They put less meat, not enough beans whatever it is. This place is a hassle and disgusting. If I can give negative stars for the level of convienence and food I would.

They jacked up the prices to a stupid amount for the quality of food. The food is just okay, nothing special. Plenty of much better Mexican food places available and are way cheaper.

It took the clerk a long time to wait on us because she was talking with a friend. Then it took a long time to get our dinner. Our taco shells were burned. And the burritos were dry. It was an extremely hot day and they did not have the air turned on. The TV was blaring and it was on a Spanish speaking channel so we could not understand it. The women’s bathroom door was broken, so you could not lock the door. We went to order chips and guacamole and the cashier was too busy playing on her phone to even look up. We were going to place another order to go, but after trying to get waited on the second time, we decided to leave and go to Subway. This was a completely disappointing experience. Will not be returning!

Pros: clean dining area and bathrooms, empty at lunch time Cons: lard is used in just about everything, including the rice. I got a shrimp burrito and the shrimp were not cleaned, in fact they were disgusting(see pic). Ceviche was on the menu but not available.

I went here to get a late meal, as I had just arrived in town. I ordered nachos, and asked for everything on them, but no meat. $ 7.00 and some change later, I was the owner of the most disgusting vegetarian nachos I have ever had. My first complaint is that there was no lettuce. It would not only keep the chips from getting soggy, it would add additional fiber.(and quite possibly be the only redeeming nutrition in the meal, aside from the beans) The«cheese» was only partly melted. And I must put cheese in quotes, because it was not actually cheese, more like something the government would give out for free. But since this is a restaurant, and I’m paying, wtf! Why would you serve your customers such garbage? Why not buy good cheese since I’m paying $ 7 and you’re not even giving me meat? And why do people in this city actually accept this as food? I’m sure some people will make fun of me for getting a veggie item in Fresno late at night. But really, why can’t I? There is no reason if you take away the meat, the dish should ever taste boring. Relying on meat to make your menu taste good means you don’t actually know how to cook. The guacamole had no flavor, which means either the avocados were crappy, or the salsa was crappy, or both. The beans had no flavor. It was like everyone involved came together to not give a shit: The buyer of the cheese, the person who made the beans and guacamole, the person who decided no one would want lettuce, and the lady in the window who served it to me. Overall, I just don’t get why Fresno food is so nasty. It’s like no one cares what they make, and no one cares what they receive. It’s sad. I wish I could go back and eat when I visit family, and not be disgusted and disappointed.
