I had high hopes but uverse has been terrible. Cuts out all the time. Had 5 techs trouble shoot it. Each time a high grade fellow. Head tech admitted it was faulty AT&T equipment and said we should get another provider.

Lets see if after this review AT&T raises my bill AGAIN! I’m not happy with U-verse phone or internet and have been looking for another provider for years. Where do I start? OK, in March my promo’s ran out and my bill jumped from fifty something to eighty something, so I called to see if I could get my bill lowered with another promo. They said, Sure we see you have been such a great customer were going to lower your internet speed to SUPERSLOW and then well go ahead and charge you seventh-one and some change a month for a year. WOWTHANKS! Now I have an internet that stops working and a phone I can’t use when the power go’s out. GREATCUSTOMERSERVICEAT$T. Then I notice every other month they add a-little more so I’m getting nickel and dimed. GOTTOLOVETHEM!!!

Modesto customer with AT&T very vertical unsatisfied starting aprox. two yrs back started service from day one we had all our own equipment from laptop tablets and router and printer everything from Dell all compatible with each other ok had tech come out to in stall was told at that point router had to be bought through them was a lie but not knowing at that time I purchased it sold my bran new Dell one ok at the same time tech is telling me while standing in my dining rm that I had to have a land line ok that min. ran out bought a phone come to find out almost two years later was untrue we have 3 cell phones don’t need landline ok not very good with words but but every month I had to call for something from over charge no service them putting my money in someone else’s account I’m not exaggerating every month something was wrong k so first router that was mine paid in full for from them a tech came out to fix something replaced my router stole yes stole my router was told by AT&T that he should return it Mike is his name I called Mike he did leave his card left message told him he was not sposed to take my router and to return never heard from him called at&t they said they would not charge me for the other one lie still be charged meanwhile I was told I was in a two yr contract another lie I recently found out almost two yrs later ok skip ahead a bit five routers later and paying for a phone I didn’t need used a little if my cells we charging ok so finding out that for all this time paying 30 $a month for phone because they lied saying had to have or couldn’t get Internet service ok I have to add no matter how wrong they were even after cussing them out alot I always paid my bill in full before due date so today I thought I would call and cancel phone I did that because bore that I was told to call cancel and that they could refund or credit my account all the money for phone and router but know they denied alot basically called me the lier so I told them I felt that the right and honest thing to do was to pay from August 14 to present date because of a per motion that I guess expired on that date also the money I paid for the router and money for my stolen one but no its like the add things to ur file that didn’t happen or switch words around so it makes them look like they did nothing wrong and that’s not ok that’s horrible customer service I want to call kurtis there so much more to this story I will be moving and getting rid of at&t it’s 20 $more but hopefully they r honest and care about their customers ty for letting me vent oh by the way my name is Michelle my fiancé daniel is the name on the account wanted to make sure I was honest oh one star because I had to but they don’t deserve even that

We signed up for AT&T UVerse a few years ago and have been very unhappy. Running a ‘tracert’(network trace form our home to google) shows all Merced internet network traffic running thru a small pipe to a Fresno AT&T network hub before it hit the public internet( — what a misnomer!). The AT&T internet network pipe from Merced to Fresno likely services all Merced and is drastically too small. All of our network traces show serious time lags(consistenly over 1 second) reaching AT&T Fresno. As for AT&T Service, good luck! When you need service, I recommend emailing AT&T President Randall Stephenson. The typical AT&T service response is, «it is not our problem(you dumb consumer) Go away and reboot your PC!». It is too bad that Merced has such poor internet service. In other California cities(Truckee and SF), I have accounts with Suddenlink and Astound. Both of these service providers provide good service and good support. I just had Uverse internet installed for my parents, since their existing ISP(Clear/wire) is shutting off in November 2015. I’m writing a review hoping that it might be helpful to somebody else if they find themselves in this situation. My parents and myself have two older(7+ years) Macs running Snow Leopard. We also have 2 iPhones and a Nexus 5, and a ChromeCast. When they came to hook up the internet, the tech was helpful and friendly. Unfortunately, when it came time to test the network, it seemed to only be working reliably for the newer devices(my phone, my mom’s iPhone and the tech’s iPad). On my parents’ iMac it caused incessant hanging, and it actually froze up my MBP’s entire Finder four times in a row, necessitating a hard reboot each time. The tech’s eventual answer was to ‘buy a new computer.’ While that might be true, my parents shouldn’t be expected to dump $$$ on a new computer just because of a switch in ISP! After much troubleshooting, I came to the conclusion that it was the all-in-one Modem/Wireless Router. I don’t know if there are some settings that would make it function better or not, because it was basically impossible for me to check the settings before both computers would freeze. I had to boot in safe mode to turn off the wireless in the MBP, and unplug the Ethernet from the iMac. I ended up plugging an ethernet cable into my parents’ old wireless router, and then using another ethernet cable to go into the iMac and using their old wireless for the rest of the devices. I wouldn’t have bothered with their device as a router, except the tech unplugged everything and insisted that it should work. Maybe for newer Macs and Windows machines, but for the people who have totally functional computers that happen to be older, it’s ridiculous and wasteful to think we would throw them out because they won’t play nice with their buggy router! That said, the service they are getting currently is much better than Clear, and so far has been okay. We’ll see how it holds up in the next few months.

The internet and cable service is the worst I’ve had to deal with. The only reason I stick with AT&T is because I don’t want to go back to Comcast because they have really crappy customer service
