Stopped here in Fresno on the way back from Yosemite. There was a Samho tour bus parked here when I pulled in and that should have been a sign for what was to come since Samho has the worst reputation among the Korean tour places. There was a sign on the counter noting that the internet was down that’s probably been there since the place opened. The rooms are old, smelly, and humid. The towels thin, dry, and horrible. Continental breadfast was coffee, a bowl of mini powdered donuts, and some waffles. What saved this place for me was that the shower was actually not too bad — the pressure was pretty good and the water was hot which for me is a pretty big deal. There is a korean bbq/japanese buffet place right next door(actually connected to the bldg). Some reviewers mentioned that it’s in a bad neighborhood, and although the neighborhood isn’t the greatest, I wouldn’t say it’s that bad. I’m giving 2 stars because the hotel is cheap so for the price it’s probably not the worst ever. If I could give half stars I’d go 2 ½. The hotel is located less than 2 mi from a halfway decent mall(it has an apple store if that’s any sort of litmus test) which also has a cheesecake factory, flemings, bj’s, and a few other places so if you get something to eat at the mall and just head back to the hotel to watch tv and crash, staying here won’t be the end of the world.

It’s a decent place to stay for the night. There’s a Days Inn and two Motel 6’s in the same vicinity, so you do have some choice here. I stayed here for a couple nights($ 56/night online) and it wasn’t too bad. This place looks very sparsely populated, I don’t know if they even had 10 rooms filled while I was here. Anyways, the staff is nice. There was a mix up about my stay but we were able to clear it up quickly. The room is spacious and clean… there was a little bit of a smell, indicating that no one probably stayed in the room for a long time. They offer a free breakfast up to 9:30AM in the lobby, which I didn’t have the heart to get up and try out. Parking is plenty around here, but when the place isn’t even close to being filled, that’s expected. My only complaints are that the fan in my room only blew hot air in. There was no air conditioning, or if there was, it didn’t work. Luckily for me, I didn’t need it anyway. The layout of the bathroom could be improved a little bit, but that was just a minor annoyance. Bottom line: not a bad place to stay, I think you’d run into about the same expectations for Motel 6 or Days Inn. Take your pick.

Yes. You really do get what you pay for. If you are looking for the Ritz, this isn’t it. Something like the Marriott or Hilton; not a chance. A comfortable place to stay when you are looking for a place to crash; this is it. I stayed here a few days late in the summer. Everyday, I took a trip to Yosemite then came back to sleep in Fresno. My main purpose of me staying at the Best Value Water Tree Inn was a place to crash that met the three Cs; Clean, Comfortable, and Cheap! Clean. Yup. Everything for me during my stay was super clean. No fancy smelling towels, just plain clean. That non-scented clean. The bathroom, carpets, bedsheets… all clean. Comfortable. The bed was a little on the firm side but that is how I like it. I hate soft beds that I sink into. It just makes it more difficult to complete extracurricular activities. They even had a reclining chair in my room. Cheap. Definitely! Compared to similar quality motels in the area, this place was perfect for my tight budget. Best value… and they really mean it.

All I have to say is you should know what you’re getting into when the name of the hotel includes the words«best value.» It’s cheap so there’s not much value in it. The room we had was really old and worn out. The bathroom was pretty grungy looking. When I was lying in the bed, a bug started crawling on me. A small, black, hard shelled bug. Freaked me out. I was on the look out for bugs the whole rest of the night and I couldn’t sleep.

The worst hotel experience I have had since becoming an adult. I say this bc I am not sure what kind places my parents took me to when I was kids. Back to the review… The non-smoking room’s chair had cigarette burns on it and tears. The room looked like it has been through a war and back. When I asked for a different room, I was told that they don’t have any. I then tried to take a swim in the non-heated pool, but there were so many bugs in it, that I stopped after swallowing my bug quota. I then saw a large bus group check in to the hotel. I felt sorry for them, and myself.
