El Bajio

Our fav Mexican restaurant in NW Fresno! It’s small, friendly, fast, cheap and delicious. My husband and I come here at least once a month (or week!) for date night or just when we don’t feel like cooking and need something fast, casual & close by.
The albondigas — oh the albondigas! Between that and the enchiladas verdes, what more could you need?! Besides maybe a margarita or two ;)

Good food, service is very attentive. Nice family place great for breakfast and lunch. Very affordable, very clean. Steak and Eggs for under $ 10 and good. Don’t find that around here no more.
I want to try there bar and dinner here. I’ll keep you posted, forgot to post a picture. I was hungry lol

Kinda packed, service was a little slow (probably because of crowds) and overall pretty good Mexican food. I ordered the chicken salad and an albondiga soup. Soup was on point and salad was well proportioned. Chips and salsa were fresh as well. Salsa had an extra kick which I enjoyed. Will definitely hit up this little spot again.

Service was slow, food was just OK. I would probably go back, but not my first choice.

I’ve been going here since I was a little girl with my family. I never am let down by their amazing salsa and food. I always get the combination plate with tacos and enchiladas. The Carne asada is to die for and you just keep wanting more and more salsa. I came to visit from out of town and this is the first place I went to eat. It’s so cozy and relaxing. I see myself eating here whenever I get a chance to.

This is hands down the BEST Mexican food in Fresno… the BEST. It’s a cozy little family owned neighborhood restaurant serving the most delicious Mexican you’ve ever tasted… not the «Americanized» version of Mexican food like you find at El Toritos or other chains. Like the restaurant there is also a small bar area in the back with a few tables and bar seating. TV’s are tuned to the games (when on) and the drinks are well made. There is usually a drink special too… something the bartender has created that’s usually very good!
My personal favorite is the Albondigas soup. It’s a special recipe directly out of their grandmothers recipe book and man is it delicious! It’s so flavorful and with a nice «kick» to it too! The portions are generous on all orders and the prices are VERY reasonable.
I actually live in SoCal and haven’t been back to Fresno in a long while but when I do I’ll definitely be back to El Bajio.

Place was clean and the food was good. The best was the chicken burrito. Price was pretty good. I would have given it a higher rating but the service was slow and I had to ask for more water toward the end. Not once did they offer to refill it. I also had to ask for the bill after sitting there for a while. I finally went up to the counter to pay as I was tired of waiting. Will give it another try

My favorite Mexican place! I’ve been eating here since I was 6 – 7! Best salsa ever! and the $ 3.00 margaritas on Tuesday/​Thursday help me convince my friends to make the journey. The shredded beef taco and chili relleno combo plate is my fav thing to order. And always get the soup, not salad! It’s the best albondigas. Good fajitas too. Boyfriend loved the don Jesus burrito.
I live in San Jose now and I cannot find a place that compares!

Two thumbs up! This place is authentic Mexican food. Not many places in town will the owner come greet and ask you how your food and service was. The owner Louie and Louie Jr do constantly. The food is here is excellent. We have been here many times and everything from the chile verde burritos to the fuente de mariscos is awesome.

For years I’ve been a fan of «El Bajio». Though not necessarily the best Mexican restaurant in town, their food is quite authentic and prices are reasonable. Carnitas are my favorite but most restaurants tend to leave lots of gristle pin the meat. This place does not, they grill it thoroughly and it is seasoned perfectly. Service is pretty decent too.

We LOVE El Bajio. The service can be slow but always very friendly. They are always good to my kids and they have excellent food. Prices are totally fair and portions are huge. We’ve been eating here for years and will continue to do so :) one of my favorite Mexican Cantinas in Fresno.

I have dined twice at this restaurant while traveling from Sacramento. The salsa is amazing and the food is pretty good. My rating is higher based on the salsa and my first experience. The second time dining there, my steak in the burrito was a little rubbery (just a few pieces). I shocked it up to a minor detail, since I did not get sick or anything like that. Overall, I would recommend the restaurant with friendly employees and convenience off the freeway.

Overall decent food and service. Albondiga soup and carne asada tacos are always a good choice.

This is my all time favorite resturaunt.
The staff and bartenders are friendly and very attentive and the food is always amazing.

I’ve been there 3 times. After the first time, I’d hope to get a different experience. Never happened. Very dirty, and the food tasted old.
