I really want to love Kaiser, but sadly my experience has started declining. This particular location has dermatology and mental health services that my family visits. The dermatology department has been wonderful, especially Dr. Catherine Manabat-Hidalgo. She is wonderful at what she does. She has done minor procedures on both my partner & I. We both had things done to our faces, with minimal scarring. She was upfront that the procedures would leave nasty looking scars, but honestly they both healed nicely and are not that noticeable. She is the only reason they are getting 3 stars. She is a 5 star doctor. The mental health dept used to be wonderful, but has went to hell. Watch out for the revolving doors of Psychiatrists and therapists. Long waits to get appointments 30+ days, frequently being told the schedule hasn’t opened yet and there is nothing they can do, and phone calls never returned. It’s appalling especially for someone that might be struggling. The union was supposed to strike about this issue, but it was averted and apparently it did nothing to help the patients. Nothing has changed for the better, it’s just went to hell. — stars for them!

Doctor Dieterman is an excellent dermatologist that really knows his stuff. He’s helped take care of one parent that had a bit of skin cancer he was able to control, and another one that has had a number of other minor skin issues over the years. Thankfully, he’s been very willing to entertain their questions and concerns, and that’s why we’re willing to drive all the way out to Fresno from Atascadero just to see him. Thank you Doc! P. S. Heads up smokers: The whole Kaiser campus both inside and outside is a smoke-free environment. Don’t light up, or better yet, ask for some help quitting, they probably have a program for you.

This location’s pharmacy is not up to par with other locations. I ordered a refill at 9am this morning and the online prescription ordering tool said I could pick up my order any time after 12pm. Tried to pick up my prescription at 2pm and was told I should wait 24 hours before picking up online refills but since I was already there if I could wait an hour, they’d try to help me and get my prescription filled… Uh, no. Who the heck has an hour to stand around?

Pharmacy sucks witch is a big deal because everyone needs the pharmacy. Waiting over a hour and a half and nothing just to be told we needed to physically pick up the prescription from the doctor? After the doctor called it in and they can see it in there system? and if that was the case why not say something when you check in? Makes no sense. It will be ready in 20 min. pickup line that goes out the door awesome good job guys.
