Got to give it up to my favorite hair girl Nicole Cohea. She’s been styling my hair for years now and I followed her from Planet Hair to Strands Salon! She’s amazing and compliments of her work on my hair are almost daily! Make an appointment, she’s truely the greatest!

I’ve been coming here for years. I finally found the perfect stylist, Jenaveve. She’s awesome and friendly and my hair always comes out just like I want it to. Scheduling is easy and everyone who works here is really nice. I also attend and participate in Art Hop here, the third Thursday of the month, and always have a good time.

While the building itself could use a face-lift and some TLC, they have some really cool and talented stylists here. I go to Bailey and she does an awesome job on my highlights and cut for a reasonable price. She really listens to me when I tell her what I want and doesn’t just do her own thing. I have always been so happy when I left, knowing my hair looked great!

Please do not go to this salon. I am new to the area and went to this salon on a recommendation. It was horrible. The hairdresser, the service, etc. was awful. The hairdresser had to match my color(I should have asked my previous hairdresser what she used), and he kept pointing to a dark color. I pointed to a lighter color, and told him that was closer to my color and he said okay but I’m sure now he must have gone with the darker color. In any case things seemed to be going okay until he was halfway through my hair and then the receptionist came over and told him his next appointment was there. I was sure there must be some mistake and thought he’d soon tell the woman she would have to reschedule. Alas. I learned just a couple of minutes later that I’d been double booked. I’ve never been double booked before. He sat me next to him in another chair, and for an hour I listened to the two of them chat about their problems with their husbands/wives and they laughed about children and old times while he cut her hair. After about 35 minutes of this I went to the front desk and asked if it was customary in this establishment to be double booked. They said they always double book(pretty crappy if you ask me). At this point I had no option but to wait. My hair was coated in two kinds of dye(he used permanent at the roots and semipermanent on the rest of it) and the clock kept ticking. I had to pick up my son from school pretty soon and knew that I was running out of time. I had allowed 2 ½ hours for the appointment, but pretty soon I was going to be in a serious time pinch. Just as I was about to ask another hairdresser to wash out my color so I could just leave, the hairdresser finished with the other client and turned to me. One hour had elapsed. By this point I was terribly upset. I’ve never had someone double book me, and I knew I would have to leave without a cut. I expressed my displeasure at being double booked and waiting with dye on my hair for an hour and he apologized, said they always double book(!), and that it is standard practice at most hair salons(bulls@#*) and next time he promised he wouldn’t double book me and he’d give me a free cut. I was upset but thought that if the color was good I might give him another chance. He rinsed out my hair and was hurrying to dry it so he pulled out chunks with his brush. When I saw it drying and realized how awful it looked I started crying. I had dye around the top of my forehead and ears and on my chin. Because the dye had been left on so long the roots and underneath part was an almost purple black/brown and the top part(that had been ash blond) was now just the color of ash and almost a kind of green hue. I told him to stop, that I just wanted to leave and so I did. I sobbed all the way to my car. I did not pay him, but I’m stuck with this hair for another week until I can get into another salon. I look awful, and I wasted a significant amount of time. I work and have small children so time is precious to me. I’m not even sure if someone else can fix my hair. I could have done better at home. It was an awful experience. They were truly unprofessional, and it is NOT standard pratice to double book. I’ve had my hair colored for the last few years and no one has ever double booked me before. Avoid this place if you want to go out in public with your hair down. As for me, I’ll be wearing a hat and sunglasses for the next week.
