So my boyfriend and I decided to try something new and man, it was so delicious! He had the teriyaki chicken which he said was fantastic and I had the chicken, bacon, avocado sandwich. Service was great and the place was so clean. Unfortunate he didn’t have a business card but will definitely recommend and bring friends along from now on!

Do not judge based on location, strip mall. We are from NY and where on our way from Yosemite to Las Vegas so we woke up early to beat a snow storm. Once we were off the mountain we found Sunnyside on Unilocal. We were a little leary at 1st but it ended up being amazing. The breakfast burrito was fantastic with homemade salsa and nicely toasted on the outside. Breakfast sandwich with homemade sourdough bread was huge. The owner was so friendly and even though his coffee pot had broken he managed to make a great cup of coffee in a pan for us. Also great prices, family of for $ 31.00

Believe the other reviews — best biscuits and gravy. Light, fluffy biscuits, creamy but not heavy gravy with generous chunks of seasoned meats(no gerbil pellet sausage bits moonlighting as seasoning here). You’ll finish it off, be sated, and yet still want more. Available weekends only it seems from the menu.

Awesome food! Super cheap but good! If I was a local I would be coming here a lot but I’m from SoCal. Loved it!

We’ve been driving by this diner for a few years and decided to finally give it a chance. We weren’t disappointed at all. The food was good, the place is clean and the owners are nice. Prices are affordable and the food is filling.

Great breakfast, friendly service. The owner was the only person working yet we got our food faster than most other breakfast places and it was affordable. I have heard good things about the tri-tip as well.

I’ve been here twice now as it’s right down the street from me, thought I’d give it a try. First time, me and my dad had lunch and let me just say, the price compared with the quality of food is outstanding. My dad ordered the philly cheese steak, chopped roast beef with roasted onions and bell peppers, smothered in gooey cheese. Looked delishes, and you get your side of choice as if the sandwich was not enough. I ordered a simple cheeseburger and fries. I had to test the water, I mean if you mess up a burger, c’mon! I was pleasently surprised though. Looks to be about a ½ lb patty with fresh veggies all on a perfectly toasted bun. The patty was seasoned simply, but perfectly with salt and pepper, and most importantly wasn’t over cooked and retained all those yummy juices. On my return visit, I ordered the biscuits and gravy along with some country fried potatoes. WOW! Those biscuits and gravy are on point and probably the best I’ve ever had. Homemade flakey biscuits smothered in the most delicious and creamy sausage gravy with some bites of bacon thrown in. I wish I could eat more, because I would have eaten another order. The country potatoes were simple and to the point. Browned with bell peppers and I want to say seasoned with paprika(I could be wrong). They retained alot of the bell pepper flavor, which Im not a huge fan of, but good none the less. Both times I’ve been here, the owner is always by himself. Nice guy who I can tell enjoys what he does and puts love into his cooking. Very humble as well. Now I just wished he served beer and I’d have a new favorite spot! I will continue to return my business and I must try his pancakes and eggs and that breakfast burrito(seen some other folks eating them and they look amazing). The only downside is he closes the door early if he’s slow, which is a shame. He should be slammed with orders for how good and well priced his food is. If you’re ever in the Sunnyside area, this is a must try, NE corner of Kings Canyon and Peach. Bring your appetites!!!

Good burgers ! Reminds me ROP restaurant back in high school, we used to prepare the food the same way and the set up was almost identical. Nice place to stop by for lunch, the owner served us and did an excellent job! Will be back to try the burrito next week.

This place is fantastic!!! I came with my mom before she left on a flight to Indonesia. We had 2 cups of strong fresh brewed coffee(just like we like it), 2 breakfast sws on wheat(1 bacon 1 saus), and an order of biscuits and gravy to split. For $ 16! Talk about delicious! And so very friendly!!! We had considered going to dennys or perkos down the street on clovis but definitely made the right choice coming here. Will return. FYI it’s a tad on the slow side because everything is made fresh so if you are in a hurry order ahead. But absolutely worth the wait!

Don’t judge a book by its cover, and this place describes that perfectly, because you will be surprise with how sincerely good the food here will taste despite the lack of interior design. The interior looked really tacky and kinda blast to the 70’s house décor with its Chinese buffet chairs, glass tables, plastic flowers, and dull tiled floor, and its establishment its not huge, so its not conducive for a group of more than 6. But the establishment was clean and the food tasted amazeballs. Im actually surprised that this place is not as busy as other places in Fresno/Clovis. I ordered the sunny side breakfast for $ 6.50 and it came with 2 sausage, 2 pancakes, 2 eggs(any style) and orange juice. So much food for such a humble price, honestly I was so stuffed and everything was perfectly done– I mean its not hard to screw it up. Their pancakes was served with a side of quality butter and warmed up syrup. Not the most amazing pancakes ever, but it was well above decent, and it was fluffy. The steak burrito for $ 6.75 was my favorite. It was filled with rice, grilled steak, beans and sour cream. It was so juicy and delicious and not to mention huge. The burrito might not taste like the most authentic burrito ever, but it doesn’t stray off far from its roots. I love how the tortillas was toasted at the end giving it that nice brown and crispiness on the outside, while the steak was juicy and flavorful. My friend Robin came and joined me, and she ordered the biscuits and french toast, and I got to try it, and I have got to say, they have the best biscuits ever served in Fresno. The texture of the biscuits was soft, while the gravy was so flavorful, perfectly creamy with the hint of smoked bacon flavor and sausage too. While her french toast was nice and thick and had a good flavor of eggs whisked with a little vanilla, it was aromatic and it was just delish. I would be back to this place, for its good food. The ambience maybe needs a little TLC, but the sincere friendly service from the owner who multitask as the cook, the cashier and server is clearly impressive. They have all their menu offerings all day, so you could eat dinner for breakfast or the other way around. This restaurant is all round impressive.

Sunnyside Diner represents the very best of Mom and Pop businesses. I love to walk in a restaurant and see the owner him/herself on-site actually working– it shows their passion and dedication for what they do. Being greeted with a «Hey, what can I get for you, brother?» from the owner who is also the cook, waiter, buser, etc. speaks volumes more than any hired greeter at a chain restaurant ever could. This is one of those rare places you go and you’re actually HAPPY to tip instead of feeling socially obligated to. The owner reminds me a lot of my uncle and how I imagine he’d run a restaurant, which he’s actually talked about a lot after he retires from what he’s currently doing. This guy literally RUNS across the kitchen back and forth and to tables to bring you your food– the kitchen is open to the entire dining area so you can see him doing this. You can tell he’s a people person and tries to accommodate customers in every way he can. I had a short conversation with him, and he owns and operates the business almost completely on his own now, with occasional help from his niece and other family members. The food is unsurprisingly of the typical diner variety– mostly burgers and sandwiches with a few other dishes. The Philly Cheeseteak is pretty good with a different twist– he puts cream cheese in instead of melted cheese. He makes things like the ranch and salsa in-house, so they’re all really good. My favorite thing here though is the breakfast, which is served all day. I’m normally not much of a hashbrown guy, but his are the best when you throw on some of his salsa– which is pretty much pico de gallo here. There’s really not much to complain about here, other than I guess it’s probably not somewhere you’d want to take a date. The interior of the restaurant is pretty plain, and he could benefit from an interior decorator to make the restaurant more exciting and marketable to people. It’s very clean and well-maintained, but it almost looks like a doctor’s office or something inside. Not that anybody should really care about something so superficial, but a lot of people won’t give a place a chance if they don’t like the«look» of a place. If this restaurant was closer to where I lived or worked, I would definitely be a regular. As it is, I still like the place well enough to make the drive over every once in a while. I love to see businesses like this succeed in a city that rewards the chain restaurants or the next«new thing» that comes to town. Definitely check it out if you’re in the area and help support your local businesses!

This is a good place for breakfast, lunch, or maybe even brunch! It’s a little mom and pop shop that has the most amazing costumer service. The owners are a very sweet couple. They made sure we had everything we needed. We definitely enjoyed our experience here. I ordered the sunnyside breakfast which came with pancakes, eggs, sausage or bacon with orange juice. I swapped the pancakes out for French toast and let me tell you; the French toast was off the chain! Prices here are very very reasonable for the amount and quality of food you get. This place is a good spot for a quick grab and go or maybe even a short lunch break. Worth trying!

Had the absolute pleasure of eating here today. After seeing a friend posting pictures of delicious looking food. I decided it was time to visit this place. It’s was very easy to find and to my surprise it was in a strip mall. I really thought it would be in an older type building. As we walked in we were greeted warmly by a man named Lupe. Who asked if this was our first time and we of course said yes. I was pleasantly surprised to hear him explain the menu and what the specials were. In this day and age it’s rare to meet someone who values his customers they way Lupe does. Breakfast is served all day. As tempting as it was I ordered the pastrami burger and my wife ordered a cheeseburger. Instead of fries we opted for their home made potato salad, which was awesome. That pastrami burger didn’t disappoint me. It really was an old fashioned type burger. Fresh meat and fixins. Buns lightly toasted too! I was very impressed by the service and attention to detail at this establishment and will be back real soon.
