I’m giving it one star because they don’t let you give negative stars. Absolutely, hands down, the worst food of any kind I’ve ever eaten in my life. This is not an exaggeration. I ordered broccoli chicken because I’d never been before and it’s hard to mess that up. Took it to go, got home, opened the box and it smelled terrible. I tried a bite thinking maybe my nose was off. It wasn’t. The meat tasted spoiled and the broccoli was limp. I would never return.

Worse place ever! Food looks like it’s been sitting for hours on the buffet. The owner, I’m assuming is the owner, unfriendly and unhelpful. The waitress slow and unfriendly. I’d give this place 0 stars.

Fond memories of a really good buffet, 15 – 20 years ago. Those days are LONGGONE! We used to frequent this mom-and-pop buffet years ago, and it was consistently good. Recently, we’ve come back and noticed a BIG decline, last weeks visit prompted this review. It was around 5pm, right at dinner time. The food was obviously left over from lunch; old, dry, bland, and ROCKHARD!!! I actually burst out with laughter when I(tried) to bite into the calamari! We didn’t even finish our first plates. Now, the real problem is when we got up to leave, and mentioned this to the manager. She simply replied«why didn’t you tell us, we could’ve made what u wanted new» I immediately yelled«the entire buffet needs to be remade!!!» She really didn’t care, was just appeasing us. Anyways, we won’t be coming back when there are much better options nearby

Just get the Orange chicken & get the heck out. Everything else was bland and doughy but the Orange chicken was moist & flavorful. I’m giving the Orange chicken 3 stars, nothing else.

Shitty ass place and food. Rude cashier bitch told me I couldn’t put hot sauce on my food cus it was ordered to go. Even hurried me out of the place also. I should’ve shoved the plate of crap into her face.

How does such a place remain in business? Whatever it is, must be a well kept secret… I find myself unsatisfied as soon as I walk in, same feeling as I walk out. Have u paid to dine somewhere before and leave feeling hungrier than when u arrived… Now that’s all bad, I know right? The initial feeling of the ambiance and samount of customer should have told me better. There was one other table beside ours, and this is prime dinner time… If u want Chinese fast food, and worry about the wait time being too long, then this place is for you. I can’t pay buffet price and get the drive thru quality. Panda Express is across the street, also the more intellectual choice with your money. Sounds bad doesn’t it? But it’s just fucking being honest.

I like this place. The times that I went there, there’s hardly any other customers so it’s quiet. The staff does refill our drinks but leave us alone most of the time which I like since I don’t like having people hover around. The price is reasonable. But sometimes I noticed that the food can be cool likes the fries or maybe hard like the rice or chow mein. Other than that, everything’s ok. Also the buffet to go is awesome!

I love this place! It’s down the street and good price. The food is soo good here. I search for good chinese food constantly and the kung pao flavor here cant be beat. The service is always friendly and the price isn’t bad. Definitely recommend this to everyone.

Been coming here for years. I’m a huge fan of the price and on Sundays they have crab legs! It’s not the greatest break through in fine dining or anything like that but it’s good food for the price you pay. Best to go right after lunch when they’re refilling the trays so the food is fresh or on a weekend when the daughter or grand daughter is working. She refills the trays more frequently.

NEVERGOTOTHISPLACE. EVER!!! We went here because we saw a lot of cars parked outside and sometimes we’d drive by and there’d be people coming in and out. Well first most of the cars must have been in the liquor store next door or the pizza place next to it because when we went it there was only 3 pople sitting down and as we were waiting 2 came in and ordered to go… I am not sure if most of the people we saw going in as we drove by sometimes were going in there trying it for the first time but It is the most AWEFUL chinese place WE have ever ate! My husband got sick after about 30 minutes of eating some of the food, he didnt take more than 4 scoops out of his plate because it was that bad!!! I didnt get sick but I sure was bloated like a balloon for 2 days!!! At first we were going to eat from their buffet but after they gave us the plates and we were walking around looking at it it seemed the food had been sitting there the WHOLE day… so we decided to order«FRESH» let me tell u theres NOTHINGFRESHABOUTTHISPLACE… OH and on the way out there are a few dead cockroaches behind the soda Coolers… I am SERIOUSLY thinking about calling the health department on this place… ITISTHATBAD!!!

What I like about this place is that everything is priced decently compared to other Chinese food locations in the area. I read the review about the frog in the chicken(ewww) so I wont be going back but before then I was a huge fan of this place. I’ll admit it needs some work. I question how sanitary everything is and if the food is held at correct temperatures but darn it the food is good. I just wish they forced their employees to take food safety courses. And bring back the zodiac calendar you used to place in front of everyones seat. It was a good conversation starter but they took it off like 7 years ago.

By the looks of the thread-bear carpet, I think this place has been in business a long time. I was almost afraid to eat there, but it was a luncheon after a funeral, so who am I to complain. I was pleasantly surprised by the food. What I particularly liked was their chow mein, which had nicely browned noodles, lots of bean sprouts along w/nice chunks of bbq pork. I’ve all but given up eating chow mein at most of the other buffets in town are their noodles are way too fat and have a strange orange glow color. Also had crispy fish filets, tofu w/shrimp, braised green beans and some tasty chicken wings. If you can get past the tired décor, the food is fairly decent for a $ 6.70 lunch.

So a coupon in my mailbox declared that this was the best Chinese buffet in Fresno. Well, I’d sure like to have lunch at the best Chinese buffet in Fresno, especially if it’s just down the street and my drink will be free. There was just one problem — the food was not the best Chinese on Kings Canyon — let alone in Fresno. When I entered, I had high expectations, plus that coupon. A number of people were filling up styrofoam containers with food. Apparently, you can get the buffet to go, and a number of construction workers seemed to be fans. This had the unfortunate side effect of cleaning out a couple of the steam trays, but I got a plate and some chow mein, hoping that replacements would be on the way. I should have known when I looked at the broccoli beef that this wasn’t going to be a regular stop. It was watery. I don’t mean the sauce was watery — I mean there was no sauce, just water. While my Irish heritage might suggest I like boiled beef, this was not what I had in mind. The spicy chicken was a sort of kung pao without peanuts that wasn’t awful, but the whole thing was a disappointment.

Yeah, not that crazy about this place. They had a buffet style lunch special going on went I went there with my colleagues from my training class. They got the buffet and all three had very little good to say about the food at Wong’s Tea Garden. Chinese it is not — more the typical American-style, MSG-laden, corn starchy, syrupy poo that went out of style in the 80’s before good Thai and Japanese food hit the scene. So I had some beef plate with hardly cooked green onion tips that I had to crunch through just to swallow. The beef was seriously like eating soggy beef jerky that was left overnight in a bowl of water and then lightly breaded with flour or something before being«cooked.» Oh Fresno, I used to think you were the prettier cousin of ugly Merced, but alas, you are both ugly and hot and stupid. And the restaurants here aren’t that much better…
