Walked in and immediately seated ourselves. Happen to come between a long wait time, lucky us. We were served our drinks very quickly and our order was taken just as fast. Our good arrived shortly after, exactly as we ordered and huge. The food filled this large plate, I couldn’t eat it all. It was a great view of the town and people walking by.

a welcoming joint, with a hometown feel. first time here on the Islands and with the many reviews we decided to stop here for lunch. It was a busy place with larger portions, and I ordered a mimosa which was ginormous. I ordered the fish wrap… which was recommended over the fish and chips. WORTHIT. my boyfriend ordered the Denver omelet… he adds. «makes me wonder. did John Denver cook this omelet himself??» — both the breakfast and lunch were great choices!

Decent food and decent price. I went by myself and it was crowded. The service was okay though I could sense awkwardness for the server of the fact I was eating alone. Nothing on the menu stood out. Overall it was okay.

Nice lunch spot while hanging out on the Island. Busy but to be expected at this locale. Service was OK.

My aunt & I ate here for brunch today. Very quaint little restaurant & coffee shop in the heart of Friday Harbor. Parking was a little difficult today because the farmers market was happening, but we managed to find a space not far from the restaurant. The wait staff were friendly and efficient. It wasn’t too busy so we had our choice of where to sit, and it wasn’t noisy in the least. I got the French toast and a side of scrambled eggs. The French toast batter had cinnamon & vanilla in it, and it was cooked just right… Delicious! I also got an iced Americano with soy milk, which was very good. My aunt got the black bean burger with sweet potato fries, and enjoyed her meal as well.

Great little place in Friday harbor. We got off the ferry pretty early(730A) and there were only a few options to choose from in the area. We weren’t disappointed at all! Coffee was strong, crab cake Benedict was GREAT… and hash browns were nice and crispy!

The salmon eggs benedict was great. Today’s special, Crabcake Eggs Benedict, was unbelievably awesome. The waitresses are a delight and the food is always(ALWAYS) amazing. Thanks for being my go to spot for breakfast and brunch.(PS Don’t be afraid if there is a queue out the door. It goes fast and it is definitely worth the wait.)

Chaotic, loud and disorganized, would describe the dining experience. My order came out wrong, ordered the combo with HashBrowns, by the time the HashBrowns made it, eggs were cold and all my other food was gone. The food was decent for the price point. Then the bill came, inexpensive as expected… And wrong just as my order. Charged me for a side of HashBrowns, instead of the additional dollar, it was 2.75. Watch your bills and your orders.

Our family was standing at the counter, and we were debating about whether to buy a couple doughnuts, or to sit down and order meals. No one was at the counter. We waited patiently for someone to come help us. All of a sudden, a male employee says to us, «Are you guys gonna sit down and order?» and we replied, «Nah, we are just going to grab a couple of these doughnuts.» and he snaps at us, «Well there are people lining up behind you and they want to put their names on the list!!! You guys should scoot over so they can do THAT!» and then he asks the people standing behind us for their name so he can add them to the list. And they said, «We don’t want to be on the wait list» — he walks away from us, and says, «I’ll be right with you guys in a moment, I’ve got things to do.» WTF? — Then a woman comes to the counter, and we pick out two doughnuts for our kids. She bags up the doughnuts, and tells us it will be $ 1.00 — I get in my purse, and I’m counting my quarters 1, 2, 3… and then she rudely walks away from the counter and says, «Just leave the money on the counter.» So glad I only spent a buck here. We’ll never be back. Some of the rudest service I have ever experienced in my life. Take your money elsewhere.

.We visited Friday Harbor on a weekday morning. The food was mediocre at best(the same as most other places we ate) and the service was lousy. What we ordered was VERY simple, 2 regular coffees(top ups are very slow) and 2 vegetarian omelets. I would like to say they were very busy to account for the lousy service, but they were not. My guess is the reason why they do much business at all is due to the serious lack of places to have breakfast. Tab was $ 28.14 before the tip and, yes, I did leave a modest tip. Everything is way over priced on this Island so one would think the service would be outstanding, but it isn’t. Upon leaving the restaurant the man at the register asked, «What do you plan to do today?» I said, «We’re going to visit the shops.» He responded, «What are you doing for the other 24 hrs?» Had the food/service been good I could have overlooked his lack of enthusiasm for his business or the town, but I was not in the mood. We got this, lack of hospitality or good business spirit from several businesses and many locals as we drove through this lovely looking, but definitely unfriendly, town. The best part of our trip was the chance to see whales from the shore. we would have signed up for a whale tour, but decided since we were not exactly welcome we would pass. There is definitely an uncomfortable rift going on between the have and have nots on this island and the tourists are caught in the middle. Not a good feeling at all. We will most likely never return.

I knew this place would be packed since it was a holiday weekend so I got an order to go. The lady that answered the phone said she could barely hear me but was still very nice about taking my order. I had 4 out of 5 bars on my phone and I was only about a block away so I’m not sure that the problem was my phone but it was nice that she still took my order. I ordered the combo breakfast of eggs, bacon and pancakes for my gf and the biscuits and gravy meal for me. When I arrived all the staff were very friendly and even smiling, which is always nice to see. They were very busy as I expected but my food was already ready and waiting for me. When I got the food back to our hotel room it was still hot so I knew it was freshly cooked. My gf seemed to enjoy her food and my biscuits and gravy were good too. It’s not the best food I’ve ever had but it was good standard breakfast food and we ate it all. If you’re looking for good food at a good price and nice, friendly customer service you will be happy here.

My thirteen year old said this was the best breakfast she has had In years. The hash browns were wonderful, the pancakes were huge, the sausage links were perfect. After spending a week on the island, this is top two restaurants. They also decorated for the 4th holiday and the staffers super friendly and nice. Best restaurant experience in a long long time, way to go! Oh and they have doughnuts too… Yum

Went here for lunch. The restaurant has a casual ambiance and feel to it. The service was excellent and the servers were smiling and attentive. The food took slightly more time then we expected but it was worth it. The portion size was good and the taste was excellent. The coconut chicken soup was good, Reuben sandwich and fish chips were good as well. Do leave your calorie counting at home while coming here for a meal.

Hmm, I’d say that this restaurant is okay. It is conveniently located near the heart of Friday Harbor so if you’re done shopping in the downtown area, you should stop by. Their desserts look really tempting but I’d suggest resisting. Even though the freshly bake their own donuts, they aren’t that good. I got a chocolate cake donut and it wasn’t too memorable. In fact, I didn’t even want to eat the rest of it because it wasn’t worth the calories. I got the turkey sandwich and my husband got the corned beef sandwich. Both were pretty good. I thought the corned beef sandwich was really cooked well. There was the right amount of cheese and meat. It was simply delicious. The prices are reasonable and portion size decent. I thought the food was okay.

3÷28÷15. We wanted to splurge for dinner, not lunch… So we went here for lunch! This is just a diner, good food, good serving sizes, but it’s not special. Not bad, not just so-so, but just good ‘ol diner food. Great service this afternoon! I got the BLT with a cup of the tomato soup, my husband got the Philly cheesesteak. Both okay sandwiches… That soup, which sounded like it’d be amazeballs was really just a pureed tomato, garlic, and something else soup. I probably should’ve gotten a grilled cheese…

My meal was so delicious, I damn near wanted to lick my plate clean! Seriously. Located about two blocks up from the ferry and not hard to miss. It’s a happening place to be for breakfast as they have a full menu as well as espresso and other treats. The place is small and cozy so there may be a bit of a wait but the staff did well with turning over tables and getting the next patrons seated. The prices are very fair! Island food is typically expensive-not here. Okay, back to the meal. I had the daily special. Irish Benedict. Yum(still drooling). The corned beef was cooked to perfection and the eggs were nice and runny, just the way I like it. I’m usually hesitant on ordering corned beef-anything from a restaurant because I’ve been burned too many times but as I saw the waitress walk by with it for the table behind me, I knew that I had to have it. I paired my Benny with a mimosa. The thing was huge and it was only $ 6. Talk about a great deal. Hubby ordered Chicken Fried Steak and he loved it! Just the right proportion and seasoned well. If you happen the visit the island, give this place a try! My only regret is that I didn’t eat a few other meals here while visiting the island.

The itinerary for the day on Friday Harbor included breakfast at Rocky Bay Café. With 4 guests in tow, I wanted to show them the power of Unilocal with a power pick. Every table was occupied except for one, just in time to beat the rush at 10:45am. Corned Beef Hash x 2: I specifically asked for well done potatoes and beef. Potato hash came soggy, meat devoid of any seasoning and just a big sloppy mess. A couple of pieces of corned beef thrown in with way soggy potatoes equals an unhappy breakfast. The only thing that kept me eating 25% of it: the eggs and toast topped with a good helping of hot sauce. Chicken Fried Steak x 2: CFS itself OK but again the semi-wet potatoes were exactly made like the corned beef hash. Ate the small CFS portion with the eggs and pulled off just the cooked edges of the hash browns. Staff didn’t seem to care we ate only a small portion of our plates and«hurried» us out for the next folks in line. Thoroughly embarrassing to recommend to my out-of-towners to say the least.
