Ask for Julia! She gave me the best haircut I have ever had. She also turned my long bushy beard to something my wife actually likes now! Julia is great and very friendly. This is a great place for a guy to get a haircut and beard trimming.

I am new to the Friendswood area and The Modern Gent Barber Shop is a great place to go for a haircut, beard trim or shave. They did a great job making me look great for wedding pictures. It is a little pricey for a men’s haircut, but its worth it if you want something that looks great.

I had an amazing experience my first time here with LaShuna. She took the time to understand what I wanted and gave her opinion to where we could come to a great resolution.
Today was my second experience, however Julia was my barber. I tried explaining what I wanted and she hurriedly dismissed me as if she knew what I wanted already. I was elbowed twice accidentally because she wasn’t paying attention and was rushing and her clippers kept skipping. She also took it upon herself to create a completely new beard style, that resembled a cartoon character. Once finished, she asked for my opinion. I told her I was unhappy and that the hair length needed to be shorter. Unfortunately, I think I made her mad so she eventually gave me something a few millimeters more than a buzz cut. Definitely not close to what I had asked for. Very very disappointed. And I was still charged full price.

I’ve now had four haircuts at this shop. Excellent service and cuts every time. All the ladies really know how to cut hair, well. Shout out to LaFonda. She has cut my hair twice now: the finest haircuts I have gotten in my life. The hot towel, shampoo, neck shave and beverage add to the relaxing experience. My go to barber shop now!

What an awesome place and experience. I walked in on a Monday around lunchtime and was seen right away. Julia did a wonderful job and I felt she took her time to make sure she gave me the perfect haircut. I truly felt valued by their level of service and care.
The place is modern and very clean as well — something very important to me. Overall, it was a great experience and I will be back.

Wow, I just had one of the best haircut and beard trim experiences at TMG. Bertha was awesome! She gave me pointers on how to groom my hair and beard, plus she did a great job! Highly recommend this place!!!

I had a great experience at The Modern Gent. I was welcomed and greeted as soon as I walked inside. The gentleman behind the counter offered me a drink as I was signing up so that I could receive green receipts and also book future appointments (which I will certainly take advantage of). My stylist Lafonda was extremely friendly, professional, and most importantly did an amazing job on my hair. I have had such an issue getting stylists to do my hair the way I want, but Lafonda was extremely receptive to my input.
The prices are a bit higher than my previous haircuts, but for a neck and shoulder massage as well as razor neck shave, it was well worth it.
I had an amazing, relaxing experience at The Modern Gent, and I highly recommend checking it out.
