Everything was delicious! We had crab cakes, fried shrimp, fried catfish, grilled oysters, coconut shrimp and fish tacos. Huge portions, very fast and friendly service. My family will definitely be back soon!

The grilled rainbow trout on a bed of their rice with veggies is enough for us to give this place 5 stars! A must try! The fried catfish and soft shell crab were pretty good, too! We had the grilled oysters. It was good, but just not my cup of tea with the sprinkled cheese on top. We will definitely be back. I’m already planning on trying the ceviche on our next visit!

This place has gone down hill! Ordered ceviche, no chips extra avocado today for lunch and they only served me a half bowl full. Addressed it with a lady who claimed to be the manager, Nefertari Martinez. She informed me that they only served a certain amount and was super unprofessional! I asked who was the GM and was given a card for Mimi Cerda but she refused to give me her number to reach her. Called the other store and learned that Nick Peterson was the area GM and was provided his email to address my concerns. Bottom line Frisco deserves The same quality and professionalism as the other AW shucks!

I’ve been here about 3 times in the last couple of months. It takes good service and great food for my kids to ask to go back to a restaurant. Aww shucks had amazing fresh food, the people there are very accommodating, and the cooks are awesome! The cooks go out of their way to make sure you are happy! I always get the crawfish boil, it is delicious and spicy. If you like spice I highly recommend their Serrano pepper shrimp cocktail. Also, if you like oysters, they have the freshest I have found. I went to Galveston and was missing Aww Shucks, that’s how fresh their food is.

Doubt I’ll be back. Fish tacos were kinda ok. Slightly under done. The menu says«spicy coleslaw», but it is actually Pico DE Gallo mixed in to the coleslaw. Terrible combination to add tomatoes and cilantro to coleslaw. And they use tartar sauce on the Po’boy instead of remoulade. Seems like they’re trying to combine cajun with a northeastern style, and it’s not working.

Good and fresh seafood, very straight forward establishment. Nothing fancy just sit down and eat messy. You order your food get it to the table and pay on your way out using a honor system.

As you walk in the place is clean and definitely doesn’t smell like old seafood. The place looks pretty new and a pretty good crowd for the location. The food is typical fried. Service was good. I ordered craw fish and they were actually still small. I would also tell them to put the season on the side because it was very salty. However the spiciness was perfect! Just remember you have to make your own cocktail sauce and grab your own drinks and napkins. I don’t know if we should tip since all they did was bring you your food. I tipped anyways but kinda a weird thought to do since there wasn’t much service except for bringing the food to you. I kinda left unsatisfied. I guess Ill save my craw fish trip to Papaduex. However everything else tasted good. I would definitely go back. Also they still base this on the trust theory so you pay when you are done eating at the register and you tell the cashier what you ordered.

Delicious authentic ceviche. Great shrimp cocktail and the caldo is awesome as well. The boil pot is were they need improvements. The crab legs and shrimp are a little overcooked and small. Overall is a great place

After hearing good things about this restaurant my wife and I decided to give it a try. It’s a counter service restaurant where you pay on the way out. A bit odd but that’s OK. We ordered the Summer Special for two — crab legs, shrimp and sausage plus potatoes and corn. The shrimp still have the heads on(not a fan of that but I can deal with it). Many were undercooked, mushy and inedible. There was also some kind of spicy seasoning POURED onto the platter that clumped up and made some pieces have none and others too much to be edible. The crab legs were good. As was the sausage. They have a bar to make your own cocktail sauce. After two failed attempts of my own I wished they had it already made. The minuscule portions of corn and potatoes was a joke. We won’t be back.

I visited this location for lunch a few months ago, and had the fish tacos, which were pretty good. We recently returned and had the Grouper Po’boy, Shrimp & Oyster basket. We also placed an order for Grilled Oysters, however, they never arrived… The basket had(3) medium-sized shrimp,(3) oysters and a bunch of french fries, which were pretty greasy. The grouper po’boy was grilled perfectly but very little flavor and truthfully, the food was both underwhelming and overpriced for the amount of food you get. The person at the register asked how our food tasted, and I suggested that they add just a little seasoning to «wake up» the meal and they said, «a lot of people don’t like their seafood seasoned», so we said, «okay, we’ll stick with Pappadeaux’s for seafood». Cool vibe, but could have been better.

We came here for a Valentine’s Day lunch and deeply regret it. We picked AwShucks because the one on lower Greenville is really good, so we were excited when we found out there was one right up the street from us. The one star is only for the atmosphere. The restaurant was cute and had nice patio seating. The girl at the order counter was seriously lacking personality and rude. We got the shrimp & oyster basket, ceviche and 2 beers. The shrimp was very chewy and the oysters tasted spoiled. The ceviche was absolutely disgusting, it consisted of a pile of chewy unidentifiable fish. The avocado was good. Beers were hot. I ended up getting sick and missing our Valentine’s Day dinner because of this disgusting food. I’d say in that area, stick with Papadeux.

At first I was suspicious to come here after seeing only 3 star reviews, but I really wanted some quick fish for dinner. So here I come with my toddler! The weather was awesome and we sat outside. Their happy our is M-Th 3 – 6:30PM and it means half price oysters, $ 1 frozen Rita and $ 2 draft beer… Sounds totally like my kinda place lol :) Well I got charbroiled oysters and they were REALLY good! Lots of Parmesan cheese, butter, garlic and some herbs on a good size juicy oysters, YESPLEASE! Grilled salmon was very good too, not overly cooked, flavorful and juicy, my son really enjoyed it! And needless to say I needed that beer on a Thursday night lol! Guess how much it all cost? Just $ 24 for dozen oysters, grilled salmon with fries and beer!!! Total winner! I’ll be back very often! And yes they had huge crawfish and crab legs which I’m getting next time I’m here

Stopped by here for lunch. You order at the counter and they bring your food out. Once you are done eating, you pay as you exit. We had a dozen raw oysters that were meaty and nicely chilled. The shrimp cocktail was ok, we added lemon and hot sauce to add some flavor. We also shared the fried oyster and shrimp basket that turned out to be a bit pricey for what you get. The fried oysters were delicious and I’d probably just order those. The shrimp was butterflied, breaded and lightly fried but just wasn’t as tasty as the oysters. If this place had more of a bar feel instead of a fast food feel to it, I’d probably go more often.

Heard great things about this place before being able to visit. A little different experience than a usual restaurant. Ordered at the front and food was brought to us fairly quickly. You don’t pay until after you eat and it is by the«honor system,» which is quite impressive. Staff were friendly, we wanted to turn up the volume of a football game on TV, and they were able to oblige without disrupting other guest’s experience. Only been here once but tried a lot and was quite impressed. We tried the calamari, oysters, ceviche, and po boy, loved it all. The calamari and oysters was my favorite. Ceviche was a little more soggy and watery, but good flavor. Can’t wait to try out more items!

We had the summer plate for 2 and it was just okay. A little small but it was edible. Then we ordered a dozen oysters and we took one bite and they were old/spoiled so we sent them back and quickly left. The staff was there working but clearly not into customer service. For me it is just an over-priced, box-seafood place in a strip mall in the suburbs. I guess I’ll go here for coconut shrimp for my kids but that’s about it.

The staff was very nice and our food came out nice and hot! You order at the front of the restaurant and then you find your place to sit. You re-fill your own drinks then pay before you leave. It’s a little different as you have to remember what you ate as they ring it up at the counter which is an interesting idea. There were not a lot of patrons in the restaurant so it was an easy entrance and exit after we were done with our meals. We tried a couple of their fried foods. My wife had their fried catfish, while I had the fried oysters and shrimp combo. We also had a dozen of the grilled oysters on the half shell that were about the same as you would get at Ragoo’s. The grilled oysters were ok but I probably will not get them again due to the price. The fried oysters tasted like home. I grew up eating oysters off the boat and they tasted exactly like my dad made them for us growing up. The shrimp were an ample size but they were a little tough to eat. The fried fish filet which is 10.99 was enough for my two year old and my wife to eat and still have enough to take home. Overall, we had a good time and will be back again to watch a game or just to hang out as it does have a nice atmosphere. I took a few stars off because I felt like there was nothing special to put it above or below any other place that I have gotten a fried meal at in the Metroplex.

I ordered the hot wings for the appetizer and the fish/oyster basket. Didn’t take long at all to receive our food. For the appetizer you get 10 wings, celery AND fries. Good deed. So full I didn’t finish even finish my basket or appetizer. Money’s worth. Good environment. ONETHING I didn’t like was the fried oysters. It didn’t taste fresh and they were very small. Bummer to be a «oyster bar» nowhere being big and juicy. :\

Ok pros fast service friendly staff. Cons what a rip off. I ordered 6 fried oysters which apparently was 3 cut in half because they were so small. Not to mention it had no seasoning at all you can’t say Louisiana style and not know how to season your food. I came during happy hour assuming the beer was $ 2 and it was 4.00 and change for one Corona. I walked out spending $ 16 which I could have just went to the daiquiri shop got a daiquiri and two big pieces of catfish and fries for under $ 16 with a little buzz. I never Unilocaled the one on lower Greenville but I remember spending 30 bucks with two people and had a way better time and the food seem like it was much more for your buck. Don’t waste your money find another place to eat overpriced and overhyped.

I like this place and for those reviewers who’ve been negative, please understand it’s a laid back Cajun Style bar, not a full service restaurant. They work on the honor system: you order at the counter, the runner finds you and brings you your food, and you ‘fess up to what you consumed when you pay at the register. The oysters are fresh and delicious, the wings are great and everything is cooked to order. While they may be a tad on the pricey side on some things, it’s overall a great place to kick back on the patio with«oysters and beer, for dinner every day of the year, and I’ll be fine!» So enjoy!

Waste of money. Might be good for fried catfish which we did not order. Ordered the summer platter for two which consisted of snow crab legs, boiled shrimp and sausage. If you like petite shrimp and hill country fare sausage, knock yourself out. Son ordered gumbo, worst ever. The crab was decent quality but cold. Ordered the grilled oysters. They grilled them alright. Had to carve out the oyster chip so at least I feel like I got some of my money’s worth. Total cost: $ 23 + $ 8 + $ 17. Go to Long John’s. This place won’t make it in Frisco. Update: One positive, the service. I wrote this review while in the restaurant. The manager asked how everything was and we were honest. She insisted on comping everything which we refused. She still would not charge us for the oysters. Hopefully they improve the quality of their ingredients. Will try the fried food next time.
