We purchased several prints which were to be shipped. We actually inquired about shipping them flat, but we’re advised that they always rolled them and mailed them in a tube and that they never had a problem with this and it would be fine. When the prints arrived however they were in a tube with a brown paper wrapping taped around them. The problem was that the tape was right on the edge of the brown wrapping which was RIGHTONTHEEDGE of the prints. GENTLY teasing the tape from the prints resulted in a tear of three of them. The manager we spoke with was very understanding and reportedly spoke with the owner. Unfortunately we were advised that the prints would not be replaced but that we could repurchase them with a small amount(well less than 50%) off and pay to have them reshipped in the same manner. Needless to say we passed. It’s bothersome that the prints tore, but its more disturbing that we were reassured that the tube shipping would be fine and when it wasn’t because of the way it was packaged there the store did not assume fair responsibility and the problem was not adequately remedied. Prior to this incident we had purchased art there before and were return customers — we will not be back.
