Nivens Traci MD

This doctor Nivens may be great for others but she was not great for me. As a patient coming to her that had a previous bad experience with a doctor I was looking for a good doctor and talked to a few people for referrals. All stated how nice she is. Upon understanding that the previous doctor I had did not listen to me and dismissed my pains as nonexistent; Nivens stated she did not feel comfortable taking me as a patient due to she felt I may not take her advice and because of the pain I have that she sees me as a liability. I was taken aback by her behavior. I don’t care if the doctor is a female or male as long as there is compassion and understanding for ones condition (s). A patient goes to a doctor for help not for being seen as a number. She did not apologize only stated she felt uncomfortable and then went on to say she will not practice much longer; which I feel is untrue. Then told me to leave, I won’t charge you, don’t stop by the front desk and just go. I stopped by the front desk told them it was nice to meet them however Nivens would not be taking as a patient due to feeling my pain is to much, calling me a liability and how she is leaving the practice soon. I’m just dismayed how she treated me. There was no reassurance from her that I would not experience the same from the last doctor or that she could help me… only «i’m not comfortable and i’m leaving the practice soon.» I have fibroids and needed help. The last doctor failed to understand why I was having pains after a 4^th degree tear. Where has the compassion gone? I’m a person seeking help from a caring doctor. I guess my baby group was wrong on this one from what they heard. Sad. Maybe if she doesn’t feel competent in herself or trust her patients, or care to rebuild medical trust in a patient then maybe she is right to leave the practice. Just sad. I had high hopes for this doctor but she dismissed me. Wished it could have been different.
