My husband and I went to Norma’s for breakfast. We decided this is the perfect place for inexpensive but delicious comfort breakfast food — and especially if you are craving a biscuit. Hands down — the BEST breakfast biscuit I’ve ever had at a restaurant. It is soft and buttery and enormous! I ordered a basic breakfast with eggs, bacon, hashbrowns and a biscuit. My husband ordered a breakfast bowl with all the breakfast things mixed together! This is by no means a place to go if you are trying to choose something healthy. You would be hard pressed to find a menu item healthy on its own, and you would be missing out on comfort food greatness to modify anything as it is. And all menu items are very reasonably priced for the amount of food you get. We will definitely be going to Norma’s again.

One thing I miss about not living in New Jersey anymore… diners!!! This is the closest thing to a NJ diner. I can’t speak for dinner & lunch but the breakfast dishes here are really good. I recommend the meat lovers omelet with hash Browns or the chicken fried steak. The restaurant has a really cool 50’s theme going on with lots of Texas pride!

Wow! We just had the most wonderful dining experience we have had since moving to Texas! Nathan our server listened to what the Monkey wanted for breakfast and showed us the best and least expensive way to order. His recommendation of the Chiliques with chorizo was yummers, and the homemade ranchero sauce needs to be in everyone’s life. Laura the manager went out of her way to make us feel welcome, she made Monkey feel special, AND she gave me a little extra ranchero to take home! The Hubs was very pleased with his mile high biscuits. We just moved to The Colony, but we WILL make the trip to THIS Norma’s for the food and most importantly the people. Thanks ya’ll!

Absolutely enjoyed the food. It was delicious. Great southern food! I had the Monterrey Chicken and a great price. The environment makes you feel like they haven’t lost their touch of old fashion.

I’ve eaten at Norma’s about a half-dozen times. I never get excited about going to Norma’s. I usually only go to be a «good sport» when the group has already made the decision. If you’re in Frisco, drive a few miles north to Fifth Street Patio and Café for a much better brunch experience. If you’re stranded on Gaylord Parkway, prepare yourself for mediocre brunch. PROS — The atmosphere is pretty cool. It has an old fashioned diner feel with lots of Texas pride. CONS — The food is okay. For breakfast fare I’ve had much better. — My biggest issue is how the menu is organized. For a breakfast-focused restaurant, you pretty much have to order everything à la carte. The few meals they do have don’t come with eggs or hash browns. By the time you add everything together you’re looking at a breakfast platter that cost $ 12 – 14. With a little reorganization they could probably satisfy 80% of breakfast eaters. — The restaurant is poorly laid out. When they’re busy, customers fill the entrance area making it difficult for patrons to navigate to checkout, head to the bathroom, or leave. It’s just a sea of people standing while impatiently watching you eat your meal.

Great for breakfast can’t really speak for lunch and dinner. Good food at decent price. Good service most of the time. Kid friendly. One of our Saturday morning regular places. Interesting menu would like to try it for dinner sometime.

The country breakfast with chicken-fried steak is a 10 out of 10. I’m not even a huge fan on chicken-fried anything, but when in Texas… Amiright!!!. Everything was perfectly cooked, great flavor and very nice portion size. I also added a side of bacon and it was thick cut and delicious! My buddy got the olé #7 and said it was amazing too, and he wasn’t even hung over! Great food, would eat here again!

Little guy wanted Breakfast on a Sunday afternoon, I wanted lunch — Unilocaled and found Norma’s: Sweet Tea– check Pancakes — check(fluffy & huge) BLT — check(loads of bacon on Texas toast) Burger — check(so big & juicy that it could not be finished) Homemade chips — everyone at the table finished them off as they were very good The décor is definitely diner(with a downside of no diversity in the photos as if brown folks didn’t take pictures«back then».) Cute water tower was in one corner and The Dough boy was in another. Service was 5 star! Becca kept checking on us and when she saw that I was getting ideas for the holiday from the kids, she added some(Thank you!) Will be back to try the desserts and breakfast items.

Overall, the food is great! The service is 6⁄10. I’ve been eating here for years with no issues but during my last visit, I ordered a fruit cup and was served molded strawberries. I expect better out of Norma’s. I’ll return but the level of attention to the food should be improved.

Ok people, I love Norma’s. I am addicted and that’s ok because I’m talking to someone about that. Anyway, as of late I’ve been ordering the«Norma’s Famous Cheeseburger». Everything about it is great from the freshness of the food to the portions to the service. I do prefer the North Dallas location for dining in purposes and they know me by name lol but this location has the same quality of food. The chicken fried steak is amazing as well, along with the pecan pie. So make sure to try those out as well. Great pace for a family to dine in, and the vibe is very cool and 50’s! Service is fast and the employees are attentive. All in all great place !!

Good coffee, although they’re not 100% on top of refills. Food was fine, not stellar but totally edible. Music was good. I love Aretha. The pies look awful good, but I didn’t save room.

If you’re thinking about ordering pancakes… I would say that a regular stack could possibly feed a family of four. Norma’s pancakes are absolutely huge! BF and I felt too ambitious and we ordered a stack(3 pancakes). Let’s say we didn’t even finish a quarter of it. If anything a short stack would have been fine… but still cutting it close. Breakfast during the weekend can sure get crowded. We came in right around lunch and only had to wait about 10 minutes. They serve breakfast all day so need to wake up early. Besides the pancakes we ordered a Norma’s Café special with sunny side up eggs, toast, hash browns, and sausage. It’s the the typical diner food… a bit greasy but it has the homemade taste. No complaints with service, our waiter checked on us regularly, and food came out in a decent amount of time. Don’t eat at diners often but I would definitely come back for another meal!

Are you in the mood for some home style cooking? Well, get your booty to Norma’s Café right now. With a 50’s theme and music, this place is some kind of fun. All the dishes that your mom and grandma used to cook are right there on the menu. Just take your pick. Glenda and I both picked the chicken and dressing which came with 3 sides Portions were large and so tasty. We ate too much to try one of the great looking desserts and still took home leftovers. And don’t ever forget LIFEISSHORT… EATDESSERTFIRST!(Norma’s motto) We’ll be back.

I like coming to Norma’s when craving breakfast and don’t want to cook.(Don’t you judge me). My usual consists of a short stack with bacon and a side of hashbrown. They never disappoint. Although the servers have been hit and miss as far as speed and accuracy, the food is usually on point. They have pies on display, but I’ve never been a fan of cream pies so I’ve never had them. I love diner cafes and for now, Norma’s gives me my fix.

Favorite North Dallas diner for our family! First time we went my wife and I were floored at the service and how family friendly the staff and managers are. We asked for a burger to be split for our two kids and they went through the hassle of cutting it and placing it on 2 plates for us and even included a good portion of fries for each child! Then when we asked about our baby and how their carrots were cooked. The manager said she would bring out plain steamed carrots for us. When she did they were already pre cut into tiny little baby bite sized pieces! Probably the best restaurant family service I have ever had anywhere and I have probably gone through more restaurants than the average dude! The apple pie was amazing, by the way. TOTALLYRECOMMEND!

Oh Norma, will you be my friend? You make such tasty tasty pies. Your cornbread muffins are fantastic, and I don’t want to share them with anyone else. Good lord girl, your chicken fried chicken plate is enormous, I pigged out on crunchy chicken with gravy, steamed broccoli and home made chips. If I had more space in my tummy I’d order seconds… or maybe another slice of pie. Definitely the pie. I love how you want to fill up your visitors. It reminds me of when I go visit my grandmama. Norma, i know I live a ways away but I promise to visit you next time I’m in town I’ll come visit. Just say you’ll save me a slice or two of that chocolate peanut butter wonderfulness you call pie

From the outside, I thought this place would be a total fail. But inside, the décor is all kitschy 50s-60s themed and smells of heavenly cakes and pies. Pretty reasonably priced and surprisingly good food. Definitely coming back!
