Hired the truck for my husbands 50th. It’s such a good looking truck and the employees were great but the cupcakes were meh at best.

Friendly service. Pretty good whoopie pie. I don’t think I’d order again because it’s just not my favorite dessert, but I would reccomend others to try.

Whoopie pie. .. what? It was my first time & I like it! Had the Sweet Emotion which was red velvet with cream cheese frosting. The red velvet cake was soft, and the cream cheese frosting wasn’t too sweet — delicious.

*This is currently my go-to dessert option in Dallas* OH. MY. GOODNESS. ME. Alright folks, let me kick this off by saying that when it comes to desserts, I’m usually a pretty simple cookie and ice cream kinda guy. Cakes? Meh. Cupcakes? I mean, sure, but they’ve never really«done it» for me. As a result, my go-tos for dessert came in the form of Tiff’s Treats: and Pokey O’s: with an honorable mention for Trailercakes: . That’s all changed. Star 1: How was the service and atmosphere? If there’s a smile on the servers face and food in my hand within 10 minutes? That’s a-okay with me as far as food trucks go. Rockstar more than fits the bill here, so let me throw this star in so that I can get to the good stuff. Star Granted. Star 2: How were the portions relative to the cost? Gaaaaah. The one snagging point! With Tiff’s throwing out their ice cream sandwiches for $ 1.99, Pokey O’s for $ 3.50 and Trailercakes mini-cupcakes for $ 2, I simply can’t justify paying $ 4.00 for something the size of a medium(but thick) cookie: I just can’t do it! No Star Granted. Stars 3 and 4: How was the food? Again folks, I’m not really a cakey sort of guy, but this was one of the best desserts I’ve ever had in my life. The only way I was going to love my Samoa Whoopie Pie was if it tasted like a giant Samoa(Caramel Delite) girl scout cookie. Guess what? ITDID. I kid you not that’s exactly what it tasted like, and I was soaring through every level of heaven that exists with each bite. Devine, absolutely devine. Dual Stars Granted. Star 5: Would you eat here every day if you could? Yes, yes yes. It’s my favorite dessert in DFW at present, and if they brought down the prices it would be a shoe in for Five Stars. Star Granted.

Went to the Arts District today in search of Ruthie’s Rolling Creperie, but alas, they were sold out by the time I got there, so to satisfy my sweet tooth I tried Rockstar Bakeshop. I ordered a Sweet Emotion(red velvet whoopie pie with chocolate ganache). It was good. Maybe a little on the too-sweet side(sugary) with not enough real cocoa flavor, if that makes sense, but still okay. $ 3 for a whoopie pie isn’t bad, considering how much food truck food costs in general. The guy in the truck was friendly. I wouldn’t seek them out specifically, but if I came across this truck again I’d consider trying another flavor.

We visited Rockstar’s food truck, Layla, at the Downtown Frisco StrEATS festival. There were nine trucks there, so you had to choose carefully. We were drawn in by Rockstar’s promise of some tasty dessert, and they delivered. After forking over our money, we walked away with the following: Shout at the Devil whoppie pie: Chocolatey goodness, which unfortunately«melted» somewhat in the heat while we were waiting on food from another truck. Still, it was good, but the cake was a little stale compared to our other whoopie pie. Disengage whoopie pie: Filling was chocolate ganache and peanut butter buttercream rolled in chopped honey roasted peanuts; it held together well in the heat and was very yummy, with the texture of the peanuts providing a nice contrast to the softness of the cakes, which were great in this item. Pumpkin pie snickerdoodle cookie: Tasted exactly like you think it would, with a perfect crumb and nice but not over the top sweetness. Bottom line, this place is a good one to get some sweet treats from, although some of them are better than others.

Saw this food truck at the food truck festival in Deep ellum. My girlfriend and I bought two whoopie pies. They were good. The first was a california one and the other was just the regular whoopie pies We ordered two whoopie pies today. The regular(chocolate) and the california one. The california one is more lemony and has rainbow sprinkles on the outside. It’s just slightly lemony. Slight criticism, the cream on both whoopie pies were overly sweet. The california whoopie pie did have a good balance of lemon. I liked the regular(chocolate) whoopie pie better only because i like chocolate better. The whoopie pies had an interesting alright texture. It was a little grainy. I never had a whoopie pie so i didn’t know what to expect. Service was good. The nice lady greeted us and it was quick.

I passed by the foodtruck in our local Walgreens. I forgot to pick up dessert so decided to give Rockstar a try. I had no clue what type of desserts they had. It seems that whoopie pies are the main attraction. I have never been a big fan of whoopie pies but oh my goodness these are so good. We bought 4 desserts so you get a discounted price of $ 12.50 for 4. One was chocolate with sprinkles, chocolate with caramel and brown sugar, white maple with bacon and a rice crispy treat. They are all delicious, soft, fresh and yummy. What really blew me away was the rice crispy treat. It was made from fruit loops — it was A-M-A-Z-I-N-G. We will be back!

Tried Rockstar Bakeshop last night. I probably would have given more stars if I tried one of their more eclectic combinations, but I stuck with the Shout at the Devil at the suggestion of another food trucker vendor who stopped by and said she found the Shout at the Devil to be fantastic. Since I love the food at their truck, I thought why not give it a shot. Unfortunately for me, it reminded me of Little Debbie Fudge Rounds, which I had too much exposure to as a child. While the flavor was ok, it really wasn’t that great and the cake was a little dry for my tastes. To be fair though, I plan on giving the Rockstar a second try, only I’ll be getting a recommendation from Rockstar on the second try. We’ll see how it goes.

I’m really confused by Amy R. s review, I think they just got their truck and they are on Greenville in Dallas. Maybe she is thinking of another bakery in Richardson? I found them again today in Uptown and they had a whoopie cake that had chocolate cake with popcorn and chocolate chips and it was divine. I don’t remember what it was called. They have some crazy combos but they are all creative and fun. Their truck is super cute and they are so nice! Give them a chance, don’t let that one review ruin it. I think they are way better than any cupcake place! I’m thinking about getting some for my daughter’s birthday instead of a regular cake!

I am SOPUMPED these guys finally got a truck. I discovered them when I picked up one of their whoopie pies at Magnolia Theater in Dallas. I immediately found them online and ordered some for my family Thanksgiving Dinner. By the end of it, everyone was stashing handfuls of pies in their to-go bags. They are for sure my favorite whoopies in town. Their flavors are more creative than most and they are perfectly moist and perfectly sweet– not too much, not too little. I can’t wait to try the other sweets they are offering on the truck. Also, Amy R., I thought they just opened to the public last Friday 3⁄9? Either I’m behind the times or maybe you have the wrong bakery?
