If you have never been in this place it is a walk up, menu on the wall, order and walk along the prep line as they assemble your meal In front of you. It is not rushed and they walk you through the process. They have self-serve sodas and three salsas to choose. The full service bar in the back is a great touch. Very personable staff, quick fresh food. I had the chicken nachos, piled high with fresh homemade tortilla chips, chunks of perfectly seasoned grilled chicken, beans cheese and covered with lettuce, tomatoes, sour cream and guacamole. Great place, I will be back soon.

My wife and I went here for lunch based on the excellent Unilocal reviews. It was OK. I had the fish tacos and they were about average for Texas fish tacos. Tilapia is the fish they used which does not make a good Baja Style fish taco but it is common for the area. My wife had the brisket tacos which were also OK. Nothing special here. I hate it when they cannot time the two lunch orders to come out at the same time. My wife’s tacos were out about 10 minutes before my fish tacos. Kinda like eating alone when your wife eats hers meal so it does not get cold. She is finished by the time mine arrives and then I get to eat by myself. So, I did not hate the food and the service was OK. I was a bit concerned about the sanitary all of the open food items behind the counter. This is one of those places that I would not go out of my way to return. I would say to check it out, there were enough good reviews where maybe I caught it on an off day or time.

I found twisted tortilla a couple months ago and it’s become an almost weekly stop for me these days. I am in LOVE with their«build a bowl» and I can’t bring myself to order anything else! I get: brown rice, refried and black beans, half carnitas — half brisket, corn, lettuce, tomato, cheese and sour cream. I also usually get a small order of their queso and some chips. When I get home I mix up my bowl and then use my chips and queso to make a version of DIY nachos and it’s HEAVEN!

Great place with lots of selection. We have used them to cater a couple events and it was always a hit with the many choices. You can make tacos, nachos and lots more with all they deliver. Love all the different salsas and flavors to choose from. Great caterer from good to service and overall a great place to eat!

Great fish tacos grilled to order. Fresh flour tortillas and ingredients to customize your tacos. And free chips and salsa to top it off.

We came here for lunch on a weekday and purposed went around 11:30 to beat the crowd. Indeed the crowd came, but the line never got as long as I would have suspected. One thing off the bat is that contrary to what their menu says, they do not offer a what tortilla for their burrito. I found that out the hard way. I was told they have no plans to offer it(then take it off the menu!). I converted my meal to a bowl and this is when it got fun. It is much like the Subway and Chipotle concept where you get to pick what you want and they will throw it in there. I had the steak and it was pretty good. They really tailor it to what you want, as I asked for more pico de gallo after they already gave me a heavy dose and it was no problem. They offer a nice selection of salsas at the salsa bar and I added some lime as well. 3 stars because Chipotle is probably better for you(non-GMO, etc.) and the fact that they advertise something on their menu that isn’t offered.

We had this catered and it was wonderful. The chicken was moist and really good. The steak was soo tender and also flavorful. The cilantro rice and beans was a good combo. We will order this again and again and again.

So the first time I went here I thought I was in a bootleg Moe’s or Freebirds but then the guy behind the glass was so helpful and the food was so fresh and delicious it blows chipotle and those other places away. AAAANNNDDD they have a bar and a HAPPYHOUR! Salsa is delicious. Shhh, just go… just go.

Love Mexican food? This is an amazing local high quality Mexican source. Food here tastes awsome and use Fresh ingredients and they cater too and do an amazing job at it. Owners are dedicated and it is very reasonably priced!!!

We happened upon this little gem while on a jaunt to Ikea. The restaurant is casual. It looked like a jazzier version of a Chipotle. Their offerings were also similar to Chipotle or Freebird’s. Everything was as fresh as can be. I had the burrito with a cayenne tortilla and fire roasted steak. Some notable accoutrements that I had never seen at either Chipotle or Freebird’s was fresh, minced jalapeño, grilled jalapeños and pineapple pico. The portions were huge. My burrito rivaled the biggest, baddest Freebird offering. My wife had the twisted nachos, which were also extremely fresh and tasty. They were also embarrassingly huge. What completely set this place apart was that they had a full bar. We tried the frozen margaritas which were good. The meal and drinks were very reasonably priced to boot… Hope to return…

Hmmm, maybe it’s because we’re here 40 minutes before close but… It’s a Chipotle type concept where you build you own burrito, bowl or taco. The kitchen area was very unkept with ingredients all over the counter. I ordered a chicken bowl and got about half the quantity of chicken you would get at chipotle. The roasted garlic condiment sounded good but tasted awful. I won’t return to find out if anything changes earlier in the day.

Ok y’all … this is really really good! There are not many quick, unique food options around us right now… everything is in development! I just didn’t want to get fast food or drive all of the way to The Colony or Downtown Frisco to grab a quick lunch… needless to say the folks at Twisted Tortilla will be seeing me often! Sure — think Chipotle or Freebirds — but still different and unique. They have their own set of ingredients to add to your meal(avocado or chipotle ranch… YUM!) and everything is very fresh. This isn’t a chain(I think?) — just a cool, unique place doing their version of Chipotle. Highly recommend if you are in the area!

So good. I ordered a bowl, to my specs, to go. They offer toppings like grilled onions and peppers, roasted garlic, corn, beans, diced jalapeño, queso, all the good stuff you’d want to possibly top your burritos/tacos/bowls with. You choose your protein(beef/pork/etc.) and whether or not you want it in a bowl, burrito, taco, and maybe something else… I knew I wanted a bowl so I didn’t scope the menu too much. I decided to go non-kosher and opted for pork, which looked like it’d been slow roasted in yummy seasonings with lots of love. Then I topped it off with various veggies like roasted garlic and jalapeños. The roasted garlic made this bowl and sets this establishment apart; may they never take this option off the menu! It was so good… real flavor town going on here. They also have a couple of different salsa options and a plethora of different types of hot sauces to choose from around the corner from the food bar. Service was friendly and fast, the dining room small but empty and inviting enough(it seems like a family friendly establishment — even with the little bar in the very back). The bowl was about $ 10 with the only *add* being a little bit of queso atop the bowl; pricey, but the portion is big so I think it’s worth it. They also cater. I shall return.

I like this place because you can get a kid’s meal and since on a diet with health issues, this works out great for me. I had the corn tortilla which became soggy so I had to dump it out and eat my taco like a salad. I used the corn tortilla in some of the yummy sauce so it worked out fine. My only complaint, the tomato’s were so awful, it messed up my meal but I will either ask to see if I can sample, to make sure they are fine or get the salsa. The choice of white and yellow cheese — Bravo!!! I love white cheese because it has less bad coloring and is less processed so I can enjoy it. Services is decent but they could work on a more positive attitude but it is Frisco so I can sort of understand that they might get irritated but service industry people need to be nice and friendly in my opinion.

I’ve been there probably 8 or more times now. My first few trips echo the terribly slow service experience previously noted. However, they have steadily improved by adding more employees and properly training them in basic assembly line food service technique. I was very frustrated a first but kept coming back for two reasons; food is decent and the proximity(1 min away). I highly suggest calling ahead if you are picking up. This allows you to skip any line and guarantees avoiding any potentially slow service. I always get the tacos – ton of food and mix the carnitas with brisket. Editing my earlier review above. There is now more competition – better food and service just down Legacy. Also, Twisted food is too greasy.

My wife and I tried Twisted the other day and I was pleasantly surprised! I heard good things but truly wasn’t sure what to expect. The service was excellent and cooks were very helper with all our questions as I ordered! We both ordered salad bowls but they were a good size portion. I normally go with steak but decide to go with beef bc it was spicy, was in a spicy kind of mood, and they wasn’t lying it’s was spicy but not an overpowering spicy. Overall the was really good, nice change up to Chipotle… both have restaurant chains has merits. BTW the guacamole is excellent!

Don’t listen to any of the negative reviews. I go to this place at least once a week, rarely have to wait but 5 – 10 minutes and the ingredients are the freshest you’ll ever taste and a ton to choose from. I am an avid chipotle and freebirds fan and I like this place even more, which I didn’t think was possible. I usually get soft tacos with twisted rice, chicken, queso, lettuce, pico, both cheeses, and cilantro. The meals come with free chips and then you can make your own salsa at the salsa bar. They have a ton of flat screens on the wall with every sport that is on at the time while you go through the line.
