Stopped by for lunch and had the fajita steak nacho’s. Chips and salsa were very good and so were the nacho’s. Service was great as well. Can go wrong here! A+

Visited Front Royal last weekend and tried Los Potrillos again, for both dinner then lunch the next day. Excellent food again.

I didn’t have any expectations going into dinner. The outside of the building lacks«curb-appeal». I was pleasantly surprised by the food and great service. The inside atmosphere is dated and needs better lighting. It gives off a slightly dirty feel, but isn’t. Our server was very warm and welcoming. The manager visited every table checking on meals and thanking the guests for coming in. I had a 20oz raspberry margarita«jumbo» it was very good and only $ 7.95. Our 6 year old daughter had a virgin Piña colada and said it was«yummy». We started with the chips and salsa(spicy) served at every table and then ordered guacamole. The server said they make it in-house, but it didn’t taste or look freshly made. It was good, but not what I expect from a Mexican restaurant. For dinner, I had chicken and steak fajitas. The protein was tender and had a nice flavor. The dishes lack creativity and presentation, but for the great prices I didn’t expect it. Over all it was a good place for a fast, family-friendly meal. We would come back another time.

The family and I dine here about every other month. Food is very good and at a fare price service is always been excellent. If your ordering to take home, sit at bar have a drink and some chips and salsa while you wait. We always leave here happy.

The food is so so but the service is great and the price is very fair, you never leave hungry. I going there at least once a month but it’s not something I really look forward to

First time here and it was decent. The chips and salsa were really great especially the salsa. I had the carnitas and loved them. For a family or four the meal was under $ 50. We did have to wait a while for a table but so what, it’s a Saturday night.

I have eaten here before many years ago and had a fine experience then. But today was very disappointing. The service was very fast so that is a plus but there were many negatives. First, our chips and salsa arrived and only after we’d been eating for a few minutes did we realize the salsa was delivered with a soggy chip sitting at the bottom of the bowl. Whether it was because unused salsa is recycled from other customers or because it fell in before they brought it to us… Either way we were a little grossed out so promptly stopped eating salsa and ordered the cheese dip instead. It arrived after our food did, which all would’ve tasted better had it been hot. The beans and rice were lukewarm as was the cheese dip. And refried beans and queso are gross cold, which is what they became very quickly. The only thing steaming hot was the fajitas, which tasted great. We were under a bit of a time crunch so didn’t want to have anything sent back and just wolfed it down as quickly as possible before it was cold. Also a negative, we were charged 95 cents for a bowl of shredded cheese. At any restaurant I go to, I feel there is no need to deliver such a large bowl as most of it goes unused. I’d much rather receive a small ramekin of cheese than have food wasted. Again, the service was good and quick and the food would’ve been great had it all been hot.

I love this place for the service and the drinks! :) We come here regularly for the Azteca soup, chips/dip, guac, and margaritas! It may not be stellar but it is yummy and satisfying. My margarita is always strong!

Awesome food and service when my family and I stopped here for lunch on our way to visiting family. The menu is a typical authentic Mexican restaurant one, but everything was delicious.

Best salsa I’ve had at any MEXICAN restaurant, and I recommend the fajitas. They are a one of a kind. Everything is good here.

Tasty Mexican food! We stopped by and were seated in a rather cold, drafty corner next to a very large loud table. But the food made up for it. I had combo #7, which was good but my hubby’s Pollo Tapatio was fabulous! I’d definitely recommend it. They were affordable, too. Will come back when we’re in this area again!

Came on a Saturday night around 6:00pm and was seated in less than 3 min. despite the place being packed(awesome). Ordered the pollo tapito and it was excellent. The server was friendly and even the manager checked in on us and several other patrons. Overall an excellent dinning experience.

We like it here for a casual lunch. The soupa Azteca is very large serving and quite delicious.

I have to give four stars because of the customer service, the consistent quality, and that we come here every Tuesday for their crazy happy hour. 32 oz of Modelo or Dos Equis for $ 3?! Yes please. They also have seemingly unlimited chips and salsa. Most of the time they put fresh cilantro in the salsa that bumps it up a notch. Ive had the beef tacos(my favorite), the chicken and steak burritos, and a variety of quesadillas. Ill say that the food here is not insanely good. A bit on the bland side to me. However, it manages to hit the spot. We love this place. Also very clean I might add.

This is a fantastic Mexican restaurant. I had the Texas Fajitas. Freaking wonderful. Sat at the bar. Had some very good Mexican beer with dinner. Service could have been better, but over all a very good addition to Front Royal. You couldn’t get any more authentic Mexican food unless you were in Mexico. Good job.

Great spot! Don’t let the strip mall façade deter you– this is a solid choice! Went for lunch– three if us ate for $ 36 including tip and a big beer. Fajitas are delish! Homemade tortillas and chips awesome, great quesadilla and the bonus was the homemade hot sauce– smokey and spicy. Clean and service attentive and on point.

I had heard great things about Jalisco, so we decided to pull off and eat dinner on our way south because we had to stop at the Front Royal exit to get fuel anyway. We then realized that Jalisco is somewhere in downtown Front Royal while Los Potrillos happens to be right there in the shopping center off the interstate. So LP’s it was! They stuck us in a very cold little corner by a window. The place is super drafty. I could feel the wind coming in through the window and hitting me on the back of the head. I eventually crammed into the other side of the booth. The chips and salsa are pretty good, and they are generous with refills. The place is astoundingly cheap. It’s a great value on drinks and food for what you get. However, even though the amount of food you get is pretty large, the quality is lower than many Mexican places. In fact, we even found a bone in the shredded chicken. The«spinach enchiladas» had only a few leaves of fresh spinach on top, nothing in the filling. The rice seemed pretty microwavable, or at least old. The meats were well-marinated and cooked to perfection. Overall, the meal was decent, good but not great. The service was VERY slow for a Mexican joint, as was getting the check. It’s a solid three stars, nothing more. Although it was OK, I doubt I’ll ever go back. When I do want dinner off that exit of the interstate, I’ll probably go for something a little faster next time like McAlister’s, Roy Rogers or perhaps try the Asian place that’s located here as well.
