Pomeroy’s Small Engine Repair

Do not support this business. They just tried to rip off a friend through their shady business practice of doing whatever work they want to do instead of the work requested and agreed upon. Predatory business practices and poor customer service.

Wow.
Why did I go back to these people? Oh, yeah, I like to support local small businesses, so I decided to forgive the unexpectedly high bill the last time around with these people. I won’t make that mistake again.
Here’s the latest round:
I went in on a Monday to get a part for my chainsaw. They did not have this common $ 20-​$ 30 part, but said they would order it, and it would be in on Wednesday or maybe Thursday, and they would call me.
I did not hear from them on Wednesday or Thursday, so I ordered it online.
Today, Wednesday, a week AFTER they had promised the part, they called. I told them nicely that I had not heard from them and needed the part, so I got it elsewhere. I was ABOUT to say, «Maybe next time.», when the owner cut me off with:
«Well, then they can do your work from now on!»
Unbelievable!
Never again!
EDIT TO ADD: This place is an authorized dealer for this brand of chainsaws. they are the only dealer within many, many miles. The saw in question is one of their most popular, and has been in production for at least 6 years, and is still in production. This common part should have been in stock.

Friendly mechanic but the owner of the shop/​or manager doesn’t understand business or customer service. I had a repair and received a quote for 400.00 and I ok’ed it. Next thing you know I had to pay 1,150.00. I can understand under estimating a bit, but more than 3x original price, insane… go to other small engine repair for sure. I can assure you, you will be glad you did.
