I just have to review this hotel for how great their manager and staff were when we were taking a last minute ski trip to Wisp. I was searching for hotels and places to stay at when my husband and I were looking for hotels close to the Deep Creek area and we stumbled upon the Hampton Inn. I remembered years ago that we decided that we would stay here due to it being conveniently off of the highway and a short ride into its little town for a bite to eat. Well, we arrived on a Friday dead tired as we were coming from the DC area and we were greeted with a smile and empathy due to our long drive. I might add that we were woken up quickly when we got outside because man it was cold. They had our room ready for us at our requested spot(away from the elevator) and everything was ready. There was a fridge in our room which I was not expecting due to the price range of the hotel. That was a win for us. We were unloading our ski gear and were able to get some sleep and it wasn’t all that uncomfortable. Although I travel frequently and I am very critical of hotels, I certainly can appreciate a hotel operating as it should and making sure things are clean and tidy even if you aren’t the St. Regis’ of the world. We were told that there was free breakfast every day which is absolutely fantastic as it was a nice way to at least start the ski day with a meal and it wasn’t fancy but it was sufficient for what we needed — meat and carb load to last us until lunch. Parking is available and we never had a problem with the hotel at all. I would highly recommend staying at the Hampton Inn should you need a clean and tidy place to stay and if you’re on a budget. Thank you and we look forward to staying there again for our next ski trip to Wisp!

The staff are super efficient and friendly! My husband and I have stayed here before a couple years ago, since he travels for work to a plant that’s in the community. The beds are super comfy :-) service was as good as we had remembered. The work out room is lacking yet will do in a pinch since it has a few weight balls, a treadmill & an elliptical… On the bright side for the fitness nuts they do offer a day pass to a local gym/fitness center…

Location: Couldn’t be any easier to find right off of 68 at exit 34. Check in: Efficient and fast with the staff giving us two recommendations for near by restaurants during our stay. For the record, one was spot on and the other not so much but those are separate reviews. Room: Very clean and 100% as advertised. Amenities: They have a small and I mean very small fitness room with only two machines and a pool/hot tub that I honestly did not see anyone use in the five days we were at the hotel. Breakfast: Standard Hampton Inn breakfast that was neither outstanding nor disappointing. The only caveat is that of the two breakfast attendants we encountered the«regular» one did a bunch better job keeping things restocked versus the person we only saw once who seemed overwhelmed. Housekeeping: Not so good here. We only got service twice and each time we needed something be it shampoo, tissues or TP and both times we wound up having to bother the FD for it. Once we realized that it was much easier to ask the FD than expecting something that wasn’t going to happen we simply hit them up and they had everything no problem. Short of the lackadaisical housekeeping replenishments, this Hampton is exactly what you would expect from the brand and while a bit pricey you certainly could do a lot worse for the money.

Clean and modern, plush beds hand a great nights sleep. Breakfast was a different story, disappointed, maybe it was just a bad day.

Stopped here on our long trip home from PA to TX! We were so tired! The bed was so comfy and the room immaculately clean! The price was a tad higher than we wanted to pay — but we had a nice rest!

This hotel was a God send at the right time. After some dreadful weather and getting a flat tire, I had to stop before I ended up in a ditch. The friendly staff at the Hampton Inn greeted me with open arms. They quickly got me settled and even gave me numbers to a few auto repair places in the area. I also got a heads up about a gym close by with weights etc. — a huge help! The rooms are nice. They come with a fridge and microwave, always a huge plus. The desk is a bit small, but not terrible. I have 0 complaints about the rooms. The location is the only bad thing, I guess. The only place to eat within safe walking distance is Burger King. If I only had a functioning car…

Nice quiet place. Friendly staff. Great breakfast. Only bad is the room tax. I would return if in the area.

*3.5 stars* Apparently all of us who live(or travel) on the East Coast have money trees sprouting Ben Franklins in our backyards. That’s the conclusion I came to after hunting for reasonably priced accomodations in Western Maryland for a weekend trip to see Fallingwater not far over the border in Pennsylvania. I won’t go into great detail, but this was the best I could find — a Hampton Inn in Frostburg, right off of I-68, for $ 104 a night. Add 14% tax(ouch!), and you’re spending $ 118.56 for a hotel room that is clean and new enough, but certainly nothing outstanding or amazing. Props to all the employees for being super friendly.
