I want to preface this review by stating that I rarely ever give negative reviews. I always try and be constructive and give a review that will assist others in making creating their own opinions of places. Furthermore, I have been coming to this Einsteins for years as I have done freelance work in the Downtown Fort Lauderdale district for over 10 years and it use to be the absolute best, but recently, something changed… it came under new management. The minute it came under new management, this place went down hill which baffles me because all the employees are the same. For years, this use to be the fastest and they never once got my order wrong but ever since the new managers took over, very time I come, my order is wrong and when you are in a hurry and take everything to go, it is extremely frustrating. Example… the last time I came, I ordered two different sandwiches, a ham egg and Swiss as well as a bacon egg and cheddar. When I got home, both had no meat, just egg. It also took me about half an hour to get my food. This time around, I walk in, there is a lady in line in front of me. She had already been waiting. After five minutes, she asks«is this where we order?»(We were both at the area where one would normally order). One employee then points us to the register and tells us to order there. We get there and no one is at the register. Then who I would assume is the meager on duty comes to take our order whole someone else started taking orders of PEOPLEWHOHADJUSTWAKEDIN! So clearly I waited a lot longer for my food than a person who came in five minutes after I did. THEN once I get my food I check it and it was not what I ordered. I ordered once again a ham, egg, and Swiss on a plain bagel. This was a turkey sausage egg and Swiss. I tell the employee who then tells me «that is a ham egg and Swiss». I had to take it out and show her it was not. To which she replies«oh». How dare you ma’am. How dare you insinuate that I don’t know what I’m talking about after I have been waiting for an inappropriate amount of time for my food when those who walked in after me have left. She then takes the sand which and I watched her just take the sausage out and put in a cold piece of ham. I was done. I left. This place use to be so good. I am so disappointed in the service and clearly it has to do with managers who have no clue how to run a business.

I’ve been coming here for years when I am crunches for time. The earlier you go in the morning the better it is. Fred and Obi are great, however when they aren’t there the place falls apart, service is slow, cream cheese, butter or peanut butter are always smeared on the outside of bag. Oh, and the homeless are always great too. I normally don’t Unilocal, but I just waited for over 10 minutes for a bagel. Ridiculous.

I’ve given this location several chances and it has failed every time. The staff are friendly and food is good however the food and service are overshadowed by the number of homeless people they allow to loiter. By homless I mean a person who has apparently slept in a muddy puddle for a week before entering the store. I am ok with serving everyone especially if they’re down on their luck and have saved up money for food. That being said … one would expect an establishment serving food would have a basic standard of cleanliness. On one occasion a woman who was visibly filthy entered this location and reeked of urine. This person purchased her food and sat down to eat. People were visibly put off by her stench, yet she was allowed to remain on the property and occupy a seat and table. The same seat and table that you or I would unwittingly bring our family to and sit in shortly after she left. I find it difficult to believe that the staff could not request that this person take her food and eat it elswhere or not serve the person at all. I’ve seen dirty homeless people rummage through the coffe preparation table, going through the milk/creamer containers, coffee stirrers, and honey container. I’ve also watched to see how the staff handles a table after the dirty person has left the business and found that they did not wipe the table down afterwards. They seemed either too busy or overlooked the need to disinfect the table. This location would get a much higher rating if they would just Clean up/clear ouy the homeless situation on their property.

Tiniest Einstein’s bagel ever, literally the size of a lenders bagel. I usually go to the Einstein’s of 17th st and will continue to go there. This one is crappy.

I come here for the delicious bagels and because the manager is so nice. He’s an older man that is very friendly. The only problem here is the homeless that camp outside at the tables where I like to eat. I can’t eat outdoors there anymore because of what I have seen the homeless set(bags of garbage) on the table and chairs.

I’ve never been a person that cares too much about the«ambience» of a fast food joint: you get in, order your food, and get out. I think it’s unreasonable expect an enthusiastic, smiling face on every worker at all times. However, I was appalled by the treatment I received by an employee today. I came in at 2:55pm– yes, I’m a terrible person for coming in 5 minutes before closing. Well, I tried– one of the doors was already locked even though the posted closing time was 3pm. So, I breezed my way through an open door only to be greeted by the sneer of an employee, «Ma’am, we’re CLOSED.» I replied, «But you’re open until 3pm– that’s what the door says.» The employee answered, «We’re closed.» I ignored him and went to the counter, «Your employee says you’re closed. It’s 2:55pm. Your door says you’re open until 3pm. I know this is annoying, but I just wanted a bagel and your employee is unbelievably rude.» The staff behind the counter doesn’t bother to apologize for their ridiculous employee, informs me they’re out of bagels. So, I apologize for wasting their time and turn to leave. As I’m walking towards the door, the first employee yells, «That’s what happens when you come in WHENWE’RECLOSED.» I reply with a profanity(because I’m the epitome of class and patience) and inform a couple who just snuck in the(still) open door, «Oh, they won’t serve you. They’ve decided to close.» All three of us left together, temporarily united in our sadness over our lack of bagels. After that WONDERFUL experience, I will never visit this location again. Horrible staff, it’s not terribly clean, and the ordering system is as confusing as other reviewers have mentioned. This plaza doesn’t offer any other bagel/breakfast options, so I’d recommend finding any other joint than this one.

This place has the chain restaurant scenario down pat; lines form, orders are taken, money paid and food then delivered. There’s no hiding of how the process works, like Subway, you see them slap the half frozen squares of industrialized protein into little microwaves that emerge second later as nuked little perfect circles of eggs with a nice slab of something we hope is ham and oozing that nuclear orange molten cheese — surely people stop and wonder if they’re even eating real food or just re-processed plastic in the same sense that margarine has turned out to be only one molecule away from plastic. And just like Subway had the yoga mat chemical in their bread, what keeps all these bagels so fresh for so long? Inevitably one must ask oneself, well I’m here for a snack, a meal, or whatever but I’m here because the food tastes good. We have Einstein’s brought into work on Friday’s so I’m used to their air whipped cream(faux?) cheese that looks a lot like shortening(if anyone under 30 knows what Crisco is).. . it does taste good but you shudder on the inside not really knowing what this frothy concoction truly is… the green stuff tastes like chive… the orange tastes like salmon… I imagine this is how creative the inventors of Soylent Green will be once we get there. For me though, unlike Subway where I can pretend I’m eating healthy because there are some veggies strewn about and the taste is workable, the food here is just… well… filling, but actually unappetizing and not the best tasting bagel. It’s a sad shame that we who live in South Florida must hunt high and low for good Mexican restaurants and decent bagels and delis worth their repute; but that’s where it stands and I find Einstein’s a poor substitute.

Messy, confusing, the ice coffee is served hot and then poured over ice. Can’t comment on the bagels or hot coffee.

This place is packed. I don’t understand the ordering system. It is not more efficient to order then pay at the other end of the counter. Makes no sense and if you make a change with your order it’s very confusing. Very disappointed in the strawberry banana smoothie. It’s made with strawberry syrup. Get with it and use fresh ingredients.

The bagels re fresh and always good. The staff is friendly and knows your order when you walk in the Door for the regulars. A great place to grab a quick bagel. and cup of coffee before work. Their Sandwich And Salads for lunch are also real good for a quick snack.

Unbelievable that a retail business has low enough standards to hire and continue to allow front line employess with terrible attitudes. I just don’t get it. Are the management that apathetic that they just don’t care, or they just don’t listen or they just think that it doesn’t matter how the public perceives their employees. In any case, wake up management before you don’t have any customers for your employees to give attitude to.

Stopped here for the bagel sandwich with chips and a salad. I ordered the turkey and cheese bagel on a poppy seed bagel. It was quite good and filling for an early lunch.

Pretty bad. If it wasn’t for the nice manager Lonny who offered apologies, I would rate this place 1 star. Food was bad and portions of toppings were minimal. Measley portions of nova like I’ve never seen at a deli. When I asked for more I was told corporate portion controls things and that’s all I get. This was for an $ 8 bagel. It was overpriced and not good. I will not be going back.

I tried to make the review just the word, «eh,» but Unilocal didn’t recognize it as English. So here you go. «Eh.»

I live down the street and got breakfast at Einstein today. Everything was very meh and I hate self-serve coffee drinks. The lox/cream cheese/capers sandwich I got had barely a whisper of cream cheese and they forgot the capers. For an almost $ 6 sandwich, I shouldn’t have to use my own cream cheese from home to make it taste how I ordered it to be. I just drank some of their tea and it smells and tastes like it was brewed with dirty socks. The staff is extremely nice and friendly, but patronize this Einstein at your own risk.

Einstein Brothers is a culinary plague in the Southeast and other areas where real bagels aren’t otherwise available. Einstein is to bagels what McD’s is to steakhouses, and they wouldn’t last very long in the NY Metro Area. Their product is a soft«savory doughnut» which is only baked, rather than boiled before baking. The result is bland, doughy(rather than chewy) and unappealing. Having vented my displeasure that such an abomination even exists, the reality is that in many areas this is what folks know to be a «bagel.» Their coffee is good. The lines can get ridiculous at this location.

Great selection of Bagels and all kinds of topping to dress them up! I always get the LOx but change the bagel and can’t say I’ve ever been disappointed. Even though, there are other Bagel delis around, Einsteins can handle their own! Coffee is

Look, it isn’t a deli. It is a chain. No one is trying to invent a new food movement here But the fare is fresh, generally decent for a breakfast or lunch on the go, and the quality is consistent. Oh, and the coffee is pretty good(certainly better than Starbucks, which has over-expanded and let the quality drop). This place is always busy. There is always a long line. It takes a while to place your order. And parking here can be really bad at times because people park here and go to the beach. So the small parking lot can get crowded and it can be tough to pull out of the spot with a coffee in your hand.
