Bavarian Autotech’s

I was recommended to Bavarian Autotechs by a friend. They have done right by me every time. I have been looking for an honest place for service. I tried a few including dealers but ended up here.
There’s been a couple of times where Rob has inspected/​diagnosed my car a few times free a charge after I’ve been diagnosed from other places. Rob is always busy but takes time to help every time. He has performed the ONLY the work needed and has yet to give me a long list of things like many other places.
There are a lot of places to take my BMW to but honestly this is the only place that has gained my trust. Thank you Rob for always being honest in dealing with your business.

I am a first time BMW owner. Going into buying it I knew repairs would be a little more expensive than other cars and the fact that I bought a used one and not knowing how well it was maintained previously also may add costs. This morning I went in to get new brake sensors installed; a relatively minor repair and I was charged what I felt was a great fair, non Dealer price.
Small business owners have to make a living as well and I have absolutely no problem with that. Support local business !
The reason I am writing this review, other than having found a great trustworthy mechanic, is for the great customer service. While the car was being repaired I had a lovely conversation with Rob’s father and when Rob was done he answered my newbie questions on oil change frequency (I just don’t trust the once a year for BMWs that I have read about) and he also told me what needs to be done eventually, if at all, and what to listen for. No hard sell.
Thank you Rob. It is true that finding a great local mechanic is worth it’s weight in gold.

This place has been my goto place for all of my BMW repairs. Been a customer for over 10 years, they have always been fair and honest with me. Their work is solid and I have never had an issue with any service they have provided me.
I highly recommend them, they have always been upfront with me and always worked with me to save me money. Servicing a BMW is never cheap, but I trust Rob to give me the straight story. TRUST WITH CONFIDENCE!

I have used this independent owner operated BMW service center since 2008.
My employer used Bavarian exclusively for more than 10 years prior.
Service is fast, fair and high quality.
Robert accommodates my schedule, address my needs without trying to upsale me.

I drove up to ask him a question about my bmw e36 shift delay and he was not interested

Called to get an estimate for front brake replacement for a 2008 328i and was promptly provided the information by Rob. Once I took the car in, I was provided with quick and courteous service. Rob replaces the brakes, sensors & rotors and test drove the car within an hour. Very happy with the overall experience and intend to bring the car again for future service to Bavarian Autotech.

Called to get an estimate for realignment of my bumpers and while i was explaining he says not interested and hangs up before i can even finish my sentence.
I totally understand you can turn down small jobs, but it’s pretty rude to hang up on a customer like that. Atleast turn me down in a sincere manner. Not even going to give them a chance…

I wish Rob took care of Audi and MB as well then all my cars will go here. Someone also mentioned about dealer. I had my cars serviced by a local dealer in the past. I value the quality of work Rob provides and the relationship I have with him over any of the dealers out there.

They charged me more than BMW quoted me and for less work. How are you going to tell me 6 hours is 180 dollars and then charge me that for one hour if that much? BMW quoted me for a full program update and these guys just did the one I wanted and charged me the same. Is there any decent shops out here? I’ll be sticking with an official BMW shop for now on. No advantage coming here. Why do you think people come to you? Do they don’t get raped by the dealer!

I’ve been coming here for years to get my BMW serviced. They consistently save me at least 25% versus what the dealer would charge. I like that they tell me what NEEDS to be done, what SHOULD be done and what can WAIT until later. There’s never an upsell because they know their honest service will bring you back. And you’re always dealing with one of the owners who also does the diagnosis and repairs.

I can’t say enough for this shop. Professional, reliable and fair. When the dealer warranty ran out on my car 2 years ago, I was searching for a dependable place to service my car. I came across Bavarian Authtech’s through a postcard mailing and have been taking it there ever since. They have been honest and extremely fair with the work and cost. They are always there when you need them. I would not take my car any place else as I know they will take good care of me.

WOW this place is a must!!! I took my BMW here after having the dealer want to do a 2800 $ repair (replace my whole computer) brought it to Rob and right away he said it prob ur pins creating a short the next day he was able to get the part and fix my computer screen for $ 500!!! Yes that’s right less than half the dealer quoted, plus the dealer never even knew what was wrong. The dealer always wants to do the biggest/​easiest repair that cost the most. Crazy! Wished I found this place 5 yrs ago. So happy to discover this amazing repair shop!!! Happy client.

These guys are the reason I keep buying and driving BMWs! If a repair is needed they will let me know, do it expertly and then charge me reasonable amount. I have never felt that they suggest any unnecessary work. As long as the Bavarian boys are fixing my cars, I will be driving BMWs!

This is a great place to take your BMW if you care about having it taken care of right. They definitely know BMWs and have always taken good care of my car. Sometimes they offer «shuttle» service, which is essentially John or one of his colleagues driving you in their own car, but sometimes they’re too busy to do that so be sure to ask in advance.
If you take 5 minutes to speak with John you’ll understand that he knows BMWs (and drives a pretty sweet one himself). I feel confident taking my car here. Also, they never try to push unnecessary services on you. Every time they inspect my car, they tell me what needs to be done, what should be done and what can wait. I really appreciate that.
Final note, the prices are reasonable. They’re not super cheap, but if that’s what you want then take your car to a chain that doesn’t specialize in BMWs.

THIEVES. $ 125 for a simple 7 quart BMW oil change… My BMW is 10 years old… ARE YOU GUYS OUT OF YOUR MIND?! Even the dealer is cheaper than that!

I continue to take my care to Bavarian Autotechs and continue to get great service. I moved to Long Beach from Fullerton about a year ago and still go to this shop because of the excellent customer service, honesty, and fairly priced services they offer. As long as I have my BMW I will continue to see them for maintenance and repairs.

I took my ’95 318is here for an oil/​fluid leak that was getting nasty junk all over my engine, I was happy with some things and not with others.
Good: The owner is very friendly and took me out to my car while he looked for the leak. He told me what he could do and was very upfront. He seemed like he knew his stuff and the shop seemed well run and clean. He told me about how he goes to Germany each year and told me about his pics of Germany on the walls. Seemed like a real Beemer lover.
Bad: He told me it could be the crankshaft seal or the power steering lines and that he could replace them. I had him replace the crank seal only because I really didn’t think it was the power steering lines, but it didn’t fix the leak. I took my car to another shop (that doesn’t even specialize in Beemers) and they told me they could steam clean the engine and run it for while to pinpoint the leak. After doing that, they found out it was the power steering pump that was leaking, NOT the power steering lines or the crank seal. Got the PS pump replaced and the leak stopped immediately. Why didn’t Bavarian Autotech diagnose it in the first place instead of wasting my money and throwing parts at the problem? And they wanted to replace the power steering lines too! All it takes a little effort upfront to target the issue and spare the customer time and money.
I’m not real happy about their lack of care in diagnosing the issue. He did seem very busy, so maybe he didn’t have time to steam clean it, but if you don’t have the time to do something the right way, why do it at all? Maybe the shop doesn’t have steam cleaning capabilities either, but they could have directed me to a place that does and then had me come back to them. I want to like this shop. but I can’t with my experience there.

Brought my car in to get a battery registered. John gave me a price and I agreed so he had his guy do it right away, super friendly guys took care of me. Fastest service ever, would recommend these guys. I got a quote at a couple BMW stealer ships and it was more than 3 times what Bavarian charged. Will be returning if other services are necessary!

DO NOT BRING YOUR BMW ANYWHERE ELSE!
John and his crew have been taking care of our family’s BMWs since we discovered them many years ago. If you want your car to be in good hands and not have to worry about being gauged by the dealership (Crevier comes to mind), then bring your car to them. I’m not sure if they fix other German brands. They are BMW experts and are the most HONEST mechanics we’ve ever come across.

I would like to thank John (owner) for taking care of me once again.
I got to work (in Compton) and my car wouldn’t start.
I could have sent my car to Nick Alexander BMW (5 miles away and I have before and paid dearly for it) but I chose to have my car towed to Bavarian Autotech’s (22 miles away) because I know they will do the job right and charge me resonably.
The dealer would have charged me double a the very least.
Bring your BMW’s here. They know how to treat people & take care of your vehicle.
