These cookies are so good. They are better than most of the alfajores that I’ve been able to buy at Peruvian restaurants and groceries. If you’ve never had one, it is a shortbread-​like sandwich cookie with caramel on the inside. When you bite into it, the cookie gently crumbles and melts into the soft, smooth caramel filling. They are really good with coffee, hot chocolate, or tea. I can’t wait until it’s someone’s birthday or special event, so I have a valid excuse to get a couple dozen. Plus, they’re super easy to order via email and pick up!

I recently tried some alfajores from a friend who brought some home as a gift and ever since then we were looking for some to satisfy our craving.
We turned to Unilocal and luckily found Dulcinea Confections.
Brenda was quick to respond and her prices were great so we decided to try a box of 12.
Her alfajores are delicious!
The cookie is light buttery and flaky and the filling is a perfect sweet compliment.
The alfajores are also the perfect size.
We found out that she does catering and larger events so we’re planning to get some for a future birthday event.
Can’t wait!
