One star for proximity to campus.
Half a star for sometimes good customer service, depending on your server for the evening.
Another half star for the food when it’s made as it should be.
I got the hotpot with beef today, which was pretty good, especially in this cold weather. (: Our waiter told us that they’ve been out of green tea for a week now though. As an establishment that serves a pretty wide variety of beverages, green tea seems like a staple ingredient that they should have. Perhaps they need to rethink some of their suppliers?
I loved their kimchi udon with pork the first time I tried it, but I’ve had a different experience the last two times that I ordered it. I’m not sure if there’s a new cook in the kitchen or if they changed the recipe, but It got a little too bland for my preference.
This location is a pretty good hangout spot to catch up with friends between classes — close and virtually no wait to be seated (food takes a while though). However, I’m not sure if I’ve ever seen it packed. Hopefully they don’t go out of business :(

Their food is excellent, however, their service is often sub-​par.
My co-​workers and I have come here at least 5 different times because we love the food, but we have to *hope* for good service… unfortunately, service is always super slow and our waiters tend to be forgetful.
Everyone is very friendly, just not efficient. Come here for the food, but expect to wait a while for your meal and/​or drink a warm soda. We honestly gave up on the place and haven’t been back in a while. Waaahhh. but the popcorn chicken is so good!
Maybe order your food to-​go. That might be the best idea!

I came here on a Friday night with a friend and it was pretty empty.
Our server was kind of slow but it was all good. We ordered popcorn chicken with noodle and popcorn chicken with rice. Food was good but we found a wrapper in the noodles. They only gave us 10% off for that… we ordered boba and I got «black milk tea» which was same as any other milk tea at other places &I my friend got rose milk tea.
It took us 15 minutes for the boba and there were barely any customers. We finally went up to the front desk and he saw our order waiting.
He gave us our drinks &I he said i ordered a red milk tea… when I told him I ordered black. According to him there is no black milk tea and didn’t even offer to refund. My friends drink tasted like soap. Bad service bad food bad experience. Don’t come to this guppy house. Extremely disappointed. Waste of money.
I threw away my drink. + nasty boba.

Usually come here because it’s open so late. Located right next to 85C in the college plaza. Parking is free for the first 30min.
It’s super modern and trendy in terms of décor, pretty nice actually. They have a huge bar that’s completely devoted to milk tea drinks, which they have a huge selection of. Great place to go to if you just want to grab one of those.
If you’re looking for a sit down place and enjoy a good meal and service and all that, you might want to go somewhere else. The servers are polite, but they hardly ever check up on you ever unless you stand up in your seat and frantically wave your arms. Even then, most of them will still ignore you if any are on the floor at all. The food is okay, a lot of them come in REALLY big portions, so don’t be too discouraged by the prices. Good place to go to with friends just to hang out and talk.

This will be the third Guppy House I review. LOL! It will be similar to my previous reviews but I will note some differences!
[+1] Beef Noodle — YUMMY (get it as SPICY as you want). Also the portion here is huge! Normally I can finish the bowl with extra noodle, but this time I got the regular size and could NOT finish it. Bowl was bigger than my head!
[+1] Bricktoast — YUMMY (don’t share this with another person! JK! I’m a pig. Hahaha)
[+1] Strawberry Shaved Ice. YUMMY (can NEVER finish this, it’s HUGE)
Only 3 things you need to eat here. LOL.
[+1] As for the service. The girls here were super sweet and very attentive. Idk why people were complaining. The venue is huge with three sweet waiters. They helped us out a lot.
[-1] TVs are kind of in awkward areas, and if you sit far back there won’t be any televisions.
[+1] Tip: They validate for parking. So everyone who complained about parking, obviously did not do their research!

When I first came here to eat dinner with a friend, I realized, wow only 2.5 stars? But we still ate here since we know how Guppy House food is like.
I would have to say, the service was pretty bad here. It took our food about 30 minutes to come out and we also had to flag down the waitresses to get water, ask for sauces, or even order food. It was okay for the food to take so long to come out since my friend and I were talking and catching up but why does the food take so long to make?
So the food was pretty delicious when it did finally come out. I had originally wanted shrimp chow mien but they ran out of shrimp so I ordered the veggie. It was very flavorful and hot, very yummy! My friend ordered the minced pork dish and loved it also. We saved room for dessert and got the brick toast with mango and free green tea ice cream. I guess the person who made it thought mango ice cream but we wanted mango fruit. So we asked about it and she gave us the mango fruit on the side. This was after staring her down and waving our hands in the air.
Overall the food was great but the service and how long the food took to come out was too long. Also parking is a bit of a hassle. We ended up parking in the Office Depot parking lot which is on the same street as guppy house, it’s just a further walk. The parking garage next to the restaurant was going to charge $ 4 for every hour. No thank you!

Came here around dinner time on a Thursday. We got seated right away and we ordered pineapple fried rice, chicken poppers and a brick toast.
The place is just like all the other guppy houses, clean and the servers are friendly, it’s just ok thought doesn’t really stand out.

Service was TERRIBLE today. I go to the Irvine location all the time and the staff there are great! However, I was very disappointed with my visit to this location. Vanessa, our server, needs to learn to stay off her phone while working. I’m not sure how they assign tables or if they were short staffed today but she spent more than half of our visit at or near the bar area. I had to ask 3 times for a cup of water, one of those times I walked up to the hostess station. She made eye contact with me multiple times and then finally brought waters out — only to serve them to the table that was seated next to and after us. Not once did she come to our table to ask if we needed anything. The restaurant is not even at half its’ capacity and the service was incredible slow.
The only reason I gave it 2 stars is because I enjoyed my meal. I got the beef stew and was craving spam so I also got the spam and egg bowl. My boyfriend got popcorn chicken and noodle combo. I enjoy the food here and sometimes just stop in for ice but the service at this location is terrible! We got our waters served by Jojo and then she stopped in 5 – 10 mins after to see if we needed anything else. The only attentive one in the.

Our first time here, I’m a CSUF alumni of 2011. Many moons ago and I’m an OG Fullertonian… Since birth. So I gotta check out this joint since I’ve been to the Cerritos and Irvine location.
The décor is oh so cute. Very spacious and modern. Our server, Natalie, was super sweet and helpful from the start.
We came for lunch on a Friday afternoon. I ordered the Kim chi udon and the hubs got the lunch special fried rice which comes with free ice green tea!
Get your parking stub validated! There’s a parking monitor guy who patrols it. Why? We were here one night where there was a longggg line and the meter was not working. So people were moving the bar up manually. That’s why there’s a parking patrol dude.
15 minute wait for our food. I got impatient. We got there at 11:50, food came out at 11:20, but it was delish!
Service was friendly but slowwww.
Food was yummy. I would order the fried rice and Kim chi udon again!

I’ve been to the Guppy Tea House in Anaheim Hills and Artesia but the Fullerton location blows it away in size. From the outside looking in, it looks like your average size restaurant but looks can be deceiving.
Located near Cal state Fullerton, Guppy Tea House is right between 85c bakery and Oggis Pizza. Everyone dining in here were mostly in their 20’s.
This place is great for celebations and the booths are huge. When we dined in there were two big group of 20 or more.
The atmosphere is nice and gets a little bit loud here and there. There is a bar with lots of tv screens. It’s a great area for sports lovers.
As for the food, we ordered the popcorn chicken meal and the pineapple rice. For drinks we ordered a strawberry smootie and milk tea boba. The food was good and for the price it was great.
I have been and will remain a fan of Guppy Tea house. It’s a simple good eats spot.

We waited 20 minutes for 2 of our 3 orders to arrive, with me out of luck.
Because they’re busy, I walked up to the counter to get an extra bowl and the waiter made me stand there until he finished keying a big group’s order. It was a couple of minutes while I stood in front of him waiting and it took him all of 15 seconds to get a bowl.
At 40 minutes, ask someone to check on our missing order and never got any follow-​up.
At 50 minutes, everyone is nearly done and I’m still waiting.
Already grumpy and very hungry, walked up to our waiter to ask our last order to be cancelled Got a very very very perfunctory apology. Check was delivered to table with not a word when I was expecting nothing short of harakiri. Very unacceptable and frustrating as hell.
For the 1^st time ever, I didn’t leave a tip.
Okay, I feel a little better now.

I enjoyed this place. Went here last night with my friend and I ordered some spicy popcorn chicken. The service was friendly and relatively fast. I did come around 10pm when it wasn’t as busy inside. The environment is new and modern and I had a positive experience. The total for my chicken was $ 6.47 before tax.
Seems like a great place to chill with some friends late at night. I’ve been to their other locations and I think this one might have the most seating. I’ve also had their pineapple fried rice, their brick toast, and their MASSIVE shaved ice boat. Their small will easily feed 4 people so its not for the feint of heart. Be ready to be on a sugar overload.
