Hillcrest Park

My favorite little secret spot to go on a picnic with my sweetie. Although lately, it hasn’t been so secret there’s tons of stoners at the top of the park now :/​I love running around the field at the top too.

Pretty nice park but parking is limited. They have different areas one can rent depending on what kind of party you are hosting. This is my first time here and from what I’m seeing it’s a popular spot for taking prom pictures. The area is hilly and it offers a lot of different trails for all ages. They have a playground adjacent to the bbq area. Restrooms are kept up and the quiet neighborhood seems really nice. Cool spot to host birthday parties and special events.

A notorious hookup spot for homos and homeless, there’s really something for everybody at Hillcrest Park. Whether you like getting into cars with strange, older Mexicans or just tokin’ da ganja with high school kids, not much is standing in your way.
This is the oldest park in Fullerton, and maybe all of OC. It was built by the Freemasons, and is of course connected to the rest of Fullerton’s underground bugout apocalypse tunnels. Watch out for lizard people!!!

After reading the reviews, I thought this would be a great place for a walk; however, I was really disappointed. I pulled into the lot and it looked great — a playground, a recreation center, and some covered seating. Walking up the stone steps, I realized the rest of the park was more run down. There’s very little grass, few trees, and the other tables looked dirty. I walked all the stone steps up to a little shack and then walked back down. Not any good trails and no one else was here on a Sunday morning.

Tip: Be sure to use the restroom before going on this trail. :)
Perfect trail for all ages. Kids and adults can enjoy this trail by either walking, running, jogging, or biking!

This park used to be great. The city has cut down quite a bit of trees over the years reducing the amount of shade. Ever other corner has broken glass on the floor. This is sad and quite upsetting. I get it people come here to «chill» but let’s be an adult and pick up after yourselves or at least buy aluminum. I would definitely not bring my dogs here because of the broken glass.

This park is nice a lot of winding road nice to be a little bit better the grass isn’t greener but we’re in the water budget the only problem with this park that they don’t have enough rest rooms and the ones they do have they’re all dirty

Great park to go hiking around. They have a lot of hills, and steep staircases that people usually work out on. My only complaint is THE TRASH. Please pick up after yourself. Its heart breaking to see such a beautiful park covered with trash. I feel like every time I go I fill up a plastic bag FULL of trash. Be mindful of what we teach future generations when it comes to respecting nature.

Came in middle of day at 1130 am it was very hot. The park has several very steep stairways and hills making it a difficult park to navigate for a leisurely stroll. As I entered there was 2 bums with shopping carts and another under the tree sleeping I kept walking and saw two teenage girls smoking a joint as I was leaving I saw a large group of skateboarders getting high and also 3 large Mexicans coming dressed the same in white tank tops and baggy denim jeans with shaved heads staring at everyone in a intimidating fashion. As well as two girls dressed the same way laughing loudly and giggling their eyes all red following behind the men. Terrible place.

Just took my kids to this park, just to turn back around! The playground equipment has been removed and the restrooms look locked up due to vandalism.

Walk this way. The hills are alive. Hillcrest Park, so many paths, trails, stairs and ways to get your body in shape over here, how can anyone living close by not want to utilize it? I’ve seen people use it for exercise, sport, relaxation and recreation.
Sure some areas are rundown and desolate. Many trees need attention and the massive area that faces Harbor Blvd/​Valley View Dr may attract stragglers and wanderers. But once you reach the top, by jogging, power walking, running, cycling, skateboarding, strolling, hiking or climbing and then spiral your way down hills and descend, oh man — the feeling is just emancipating. The trees, grass, sandy grounds, brush and plants encircle you, almost not wanting you to leave.
Stairs. Trails. Hills. Cliffs. Walkways. Paths. Benches. Swings. Playground. Pavillion. Barbecues. Trees. Plants. Rocks. When you drift through this outdoor maze, it’s hard not to get grazed by one of the elements. We have ran amok and caught our breaths on this vast land of nature. It’s a mighty cool park.

This is a nice park for a family day out.

This is randomly a great park! Since it’s a giant hill, from the top you get amazing views! Also, at night, you can go ice blocking! Basically, you buy those giant chunks of ice at the grocery store (luckily there’s a Ralph’s at the base of the hill on Harbor) and you just lug it to the top of the hill and slide down it. It’s terrifying and super fun at the same time! After a night of ice blocking, I swear I saw 2 coyotes in the misty distance… but they just kept on walking.
My daytime experience has been just as good. I had come with a friend to just hang out and read and it was nice and quiet. There was also a man nearby who was practicing the tuba.

I have been coming here since i was a kid. this park is huge. its one of the older parks in orange county… it is sometimes dirty. and do NOT come here at night it is NOT safe gang bangers hang out do drugs and are lurking in the shadows… if u decide to visit. go during the day… otherwise bring pepper spray… tazers or just be packing. lol

I can’t believe I haven’t written a review for this place. It’s definitely one of my favorite parks. It’s always good vibes when I come here. It’s pretty big for a park and it’s divided into several sections. The bottom has a parking lot, bathrooms, playground, and lots of park benches. There’s several stairs in different directions. To the left there’s a cabin. There’s also a huge memorial rock with the names of soldiers. There’s another section with a huge fire pit. They have trails around the edges for joggers and a road for cars to drive up on. It’s nice to come once the sun goes down and see all the Fullerton lights. There’s even a venue next to it for weddings and whatnot.

I’ve passed by this hillside patch of emerald greens innumerable amounts of time without realizing the significance of its beauty. Found along the windy ways towards Fullerton College, this beautiful park is filled constantly with sports lovers, photographers, and those celebrating special occasions like quinceañeras and baby showers.
With the brevity of simplicity combined with the nuances of history and architecture, Hillcrest Park exudes beauty without the overbearing need to whore itself out to the masses. Instead, finding this public space is almost like finding an alcove in the middle of a choppy storm.
Whether coming for a picnic or simply wanting to look at beauty while exercising, you can’t go wrong with Hillcrest Park. I adore this place and hope to have future adventures here, again and again.

What a Gem in the middle of Fullerton.
A really good park on a lot of different level. Literally. This park is a hill.
It can be accessed several ways. You can even drive to the top of the hill.
Stairs, there are hundreds on them. If you want a challenge, do the stairs. Each step is a worthwhile endeavor because the reward at the top is a breath taking view.
Climb, you can opt for the old fashion way and trek the manicured grassy hill. I walked my dog up the hill, the incline can be steep at times but it’s manageable.
They have a couple of play areas, both suitable for the little ones.
Picnic areas galore, you can even grill. Although the grills are on the dirty side.
There are some buildings that can be rented for special occasions. It would make for a memorable event.
Bathroom at the top is on the nasty side. Go before you come. Trust me.
Parking can be an issue. I’ve come before and had to park at the top of the hill.
Lots of one way streets going up and down, just be careful
This is a gem of a park. It’s huge and worth a visit.

I really like this park. The first thing I noticed is how clean it is. Didn’t see ciggie butts or evidence of excessive pet use. Was able to workout and my kid had plenty of room to run around! The playground had plenty of kid options, I was impressed.
The view is amazing as well, looking forward to coming back here soon.

My husband and I recently got married at the Hillcrest Park. We fell in love with it right away. Everything about the park was right for us. We had our ceremony at the Hilltop Reservoir. It was very lovely. Then we had our reception at the Hillcrest Terrace. The terrace was perfect. Just enough space for 120 guest. We added lights and kept it simple because the terrace was nice as it is. It’s lovely place to have your wedding. :)

Hillcrest Park is so lovely. Like an oasis in the city. There are lot of open spaces and lawns – people had set up croquet and were having picnics. Right out of Mayberry!
There is a cool little play ground. My kids loved it. Gazebos and shade and places to have your lunch.
It’s a really nice spot to take pictures as well… my brother did his wedding pics here and we did family shots.
Lot of uses in this nice fullerton park.
