By far, my new favorite spot. Barkeeps are class act. Spent Vday here. Many choices to pick from on a day like that but in the end, it felt nice to be treated like royalty. Had my fiancé’s birthday here too. Love it. I teensy bummed my favorite gluten free menu options have disappeared. Caprese salad for one. New chefs. So I guess I’ll eat elsewhere then keep this as my nightcap spot. Not their fault I’m allergic to flour. Love you guys.

Holy cow S*x in my mouth BombDotCom! This place is worth the try for sure, Great menu options and Happy hour. Perfect for beer and whiskey snobs.
Food: the chicken wings were very tasty pretty basic starter. FISH N CHIPS. Were cooked well, good crunchy batter 3 sauce options, double fried steak fries, seasoned with sea salt. «CHICKENPOTPIE«3 of my fave things» lol! Now let me tell you, the chicken pot pie had so much flavour, I could tell they braised it in wine, the carrots were caramelized, potatoes and dark meat, with a wonderful puffed buttered crust, it had a bit of sweetness to it. Def a tummy stuffer Especially for comfort food! #SavoryDish Oh my word was it worthy for my late brunch hour. I so am going to return and try the other menu options! Service: attentive, quick, good on checking up on us, always had a smile on. Geezus if only I caught her name. She had short hair that was red. But kudos for being an awesome waitress! Decore’: woody wood wood. Like a 1920’s speak easy, the bartender had great clean cut style. Tables and half high seating booths. Also an outdoor patio. The Bar was so amazing to look at, very good orginzation. Also the flat screen of beers on tap. Restrooms: clean, smelled pretty, and sinks to wash your hands are outside both of the women and mens. Which I find very clever! Def a Good place for groups, dates, or a quick whiskey on the rocks!

Came here over the weekend for drinks, The service was lacking and the place seemed very unorganized. Waiting at least 20 minutes for my drink. Decided to order something small off the menu to enjoy with my drink. Went with the pig ears and house made chips-very salty and the chips were stale. The pig ears didn’t really have any crunch to them, and tasted stale as well. Might give this place another try sometime, but not anticipating anytime soon.

Boo! My husband and I used to absolutely adore Hopscotch on so many levels… We even had our wedding after party here! The drinks were affordable, the service was mostly good, the vibe was perfect for down-to-earth whiskey lovers. Times. Have. Changed. Hopscotch has gotten sucked into the same old trashy DTF drinking/clubbing scene and it sucks. I saw it slowly happening over the last couple of years, but my most recent visit showed a clear transformation. Club music blasting so loud you can’t think Overpriced drinks Short-tempered and rude hostess up front Complete loss of interest in this place now I know you probably had to sell out to make business better, but I miss the old Hopscotch.

Not only does their old fashion whiskey drink is awesome but the food is amazing also. We love coming here and my kids love coming here too. Glad it’s just 5 minutes from the house.

A go to spot for a unique selection of local anf seasonal beers and good whiskey. Love the vibe inside, 90s music, and the patio atmosphere. Food is good, like really good. Day or night this spot is a favorite of mine.

The only reason I gave this place 2 stars and not 1 star is because of the drink menu. The food is sub par. My friend orders the chicken flatbread and the pieces of chicken were tough as shoe leather. The poutine was bad. If you are expecting Classic poutine made with cheese curds, gravy and fries you will be disappointed. First, it came to the table luke warm. The fries were old and soggy, the cheese was rubbery and plastic-like coating the top. There was too much bacon and the capers made it really salty. This dish is a «hell no».

Patrons of Hopscotch Tavern, beware. Make sure to double check your receipts, lest you find yourselves looking at a 45 percent tip overcharge on your credit card statement the following week. My friends and I made a stop here during our Downtown Fullerton bar crawl this past Saturday. I ordered one drink that wasn’t on the menu that turned out be $ 13. One drink, that’s it. I left a 15 percent tip and rounded it up to $ 2, so the total came out to $ 15, just like the rest of my friends who also ordered one drink. Come Wednesday, I receive an alert saying that I left an unusually high tip at this particular place. Um, did I miss something here? Was my handwriting poor enough for one to misunderstand the difference between $ 15 and $ 18.85? While the service was fine enough to warrant the standard 15 percent tip, in no way would it have justified a 45 percent tip. If it was indeed our waitress who forged this, that’d be a real shame. And sure, it’s only an extra $ 3.85 on top of what I paid, but it’s about the principle and integrity. In the end, fraud is fraud.

Mesa was all booked, so I came here last minute to celebrate my birthday with some of my friends. I’ve eaten here a few times and the food has always been pretty great. So anyways, I make reservations the same day for 9:15, tried to make it for 9:30 but the hostess said the kitchen closes at 9:45(found out it closes later). So I get there and the hostess says that she cancelled my reservations because I supposedly had it for 8:45, I honestly had no clue where she got that time from, but I guess it wasn’t a big deal since they still had a table for me, I just didn’t appreciate her attitude. Our server wasn’t so pleasant either, but the food definitely made up for it. Drinks were made by Ben, George clooney’s doppelgänger, and I can honestly say he’s probably one of the best bartenders in OC. So if not for the food, go for Ben.

Came here when I was visiting LA for NAMM Festival. It is a cute bar located in DTF. The kitchen closed around 11pm which is pretty late. The drinks are strong and delicious. I’m pretty sure me and my girlfriend ate all their olives and used up all their olive juice for our dirty martinis. There was a live DJ and the music was a mixture of new and old Hip Hop mostly. We did get in trouble for dancing too much which was a buzz kill but wouldn’t prevent me from returning whenever I am in the area.

It’s always nice to head into a place with already high expectations of it being quite delicious only to discover that you were totally right to the point you just enjoyed it that much more. I’ve been wanting to pay a visit to Hopscotch for quite some time and last night we finally had the opportunity to do such a thing. Hopscotch is kinda in a corner a little bit away from most of the traffic of downtown Fullerton so it provides a bit more of a mellow vibe at least it did wile we were here. From the outside it looks a little small but once you get in they have a pretty good size bar area a nice dining area that has a little overflow more to the front as well as a good size patio in the back so you can enjoy the elements wile you dine and drink some booze! The parking situation isn’t that bad for coming here pretty much just stick to the lot behind Hopscotch close to the train tracks and your sure to find a spot relatively quickly! So they are Unilocal friendly meaning that you can book your reservation through the app and be able to have a spot waiting for you when you arrive now that’s just another awesome reason why Unilocal helps! First off we had to get the Crispy Pig Ear I mean why not it just sounded delicious and a bit on the interesting side so with that in mind we ordered it to share with our group or should I say my brother and I ate it because our lady’s weren’t to fond of eating a pig ear seeing that we usually buy them for dog treats. The Crispy Pig Ear was pretty much pork rinds with a bit of a harder center being that was the cartilage part of it the shredded ears came with a dipping sauce that pretty much tasted like a soy teriyaki sauce that went quite well with every delicious bite of ear! The beer, liquor, & wine selection here is superb with many different options to choose from there really is a drink for everyone no matter what your style is as this isn’t only a whisky bar! For dinner I had to go with one of my all time favorites the chicken pot pie as those are always magically scrumptious on a cold January night and needless to say I was not let down by it! The pot pie came out on a cast iron skillet that was scalding hot as it rested on a huge block of wood to keep the heat away from me and the table. The pot pie had a delicious flakey buttery crust that flaked away into the pile of chicken cheese & veggies underneath to make for a delicious flavor packed bite with every fork full! Hopscotch was without a doubt a delicious meal and one of the better places in downtown Fullerton a place I don’t visit too often but that might not be the case so much anymore as I really enjoyed our time and the atmosphere at Hopscotch so I could definitely see us rolling back here in the not so distant future for some good grub and strong drinks!

I like the huge selection of beer. I am really picky when it comes to beers since I don’t like the bitterness, but I recommend their strawberry beers for those who like sweet drinks. Was disappointed to find out the cocktails are only offered after 11pm. The food seems on point. — Hopscotch burger: Fantastic! All the flavors in that burger worked really well together. Hopscotch burger as listed on the menu: «8oz prime allen bros., marinated and roasted portebello, bell pepper ragu, munster cheese, candied bacon, arugula, and truffle aioli» — Crispy pig ear: I normally don’t like eating cartilage… but they really fry those pig ears so it mostly tastes like pork rinds and fatty goodness. The soy/maple/lime dipping sauce pairs really well with it. — Mac and Cheese: A great side to share, especially if you’re hungry. Didn’t find anything too spectacular with the mac. I wouldn’t order it again, but I don’t regret ordering it either. Very cozy and fun here, but also super loud so don’t bring your soft-spoken date here: P

I’m surprised by some of the negative reviews. I actually had a pleasant experience here. While my husband and I were bar hopping, we stopped by this place. They have an amazing selection of craft beer. They also have an extensive whiskey list but I’m not a big whiskey person so I didn’t look at that part of the menu. We ordered the IPA battered fish & chips and Bolognese Cavatelli. The pasta was OK but I loved the golden fried fish & chips & the tartar sauce. I forget what else was in the tartar sauce but I remember I liked it.(I really need to review right away after visiting these places). Our waitress was awesome! Her name is Arianna. I asked her some basic questions about the beer and asked what she recommends. I find a lot of servers don’t even know the basics of beer. I don’t expect you to be a beer geek but at least know the difference between the different types — IPA, pale ale, lager, stout, etc. I liked that she knew the different types and offered suggestions when we asked about IPAs. So rare with servers these days. I hate to say this but most female servers are clueless when it comes to different types of beer. We were so impressed with Arianna that we gave her a big tip and we were tipsy! LOL. This is a cute spot for date night or grabbing drinks with some friends. I’ll be back to taste more beers and get the fish & chips and try something else. I hope we get the same server!

Came in a party of 10. We were seated in the back where there were only 5 occupied tables. So it looked empty(in the back). We ordered first in our group and our food didn’t come out for 45 minutes because their«computers were down» so they got their orders mixed up. Everyone else in our party finished their food by the time ours came out. We ordered the Mac and cheese– they brought out a small white bowl of it for us to «munch on» before our order came out… 5minutes before it came out. A friend of ours at the same table ordered the Pasta Bolognese after I did, got hers first, and hers tasted way better than mine. It was meatier and flavorful. But mine was a creamy sauce with a strong lamb taste– less beef. Our steak fries came out after my pasta but before the Mac and cheese. It was good. Great beer selection! Always satisfied with my glass of Sauv Blanc

I have had Hopscotch on my list for a while. I love the name and had heard great things about it. We came recently right before they were closing for 3 days to turn over to a winter menu, which is why I gave it a 2. There is a huge beer list. And whisky list. I chose the Sofie(a Gose). They did not have tito’s vodka. I thought my beer was okay and our service was good. When the rest of our party arrived, we were seated outside. It was very empty on this weekend night, and chilly, but they did turn on the heaters. The menu is small, like 15 items. Wanted Mac and Cheese? Out of luck. I chose a flatbread and poutine. Friends got the chicken wings, salad, and a burger. They did give us a complementary side of brussel sprouts. I would say everything was okay. I wasn’t blown away by my pizza or the poutine. I know they are turning over to a new menu today so wasn’t surprised by the underwhelming food. I don’t think I’ll go back immediately.

Oh how the mighty have fallen. A year ago… hell, even a couple months ago, I would’ve easily given this location 5 stars and highly recommend Hopscotch to anyone. I regret not giving it the recommendation it deserved when I had the chance. But let us move on from the past. What used to be our go to spot to grub and grab a few refreshing cocktails has now turned to a mere shadow of itself. With its new uninspired menu and poor execution, I’m sad to say I don’t foresee myself returning to Hopscotch anytime soon. With the backdoor drama of chef and ownership changes, quality has clearly been affected. Just glancing at the menu itself left much to be desired. Gone are the Duck Poutine Fries, Crispy Pig Ears, and Blue Crab Tots. All great dishes… all replaced with items like Pork Belly Burger, Seafood Paella, and Short Rib Risotto. While the Pork Belly Burger, Seafood Paella, and Short Rib Risotto may sound and look delicious, don’t let your stomach deceive you. The Pork Belly Burger was overstuffed, dry, and lacked any character. Slapping on pork belly pieces and onion strings on top of a patty doesn’t do much but leave a mess everywhere. The Seafood Paella was a soggy mess. While flavor was present, the texture was atrocious. Why was the rice a few seconds away from being rice porridge? Perfect example of over cooked dish. The Short Rib Risotto… oh where to start. The contents of Risotto ranged from perfectly cooked to straight up crunchy. This dish screamed RUSHED. While cooked perfectly, the Short Rib was overly salted. My advice would to have a glass of water nearby. And the Risotto… someone needs to watch an episode of Hell’s Kitchen and step up their Risotto Game. Every bite was accompanied with uncooked rice. Crunchy and soggy at the same time, how did a dish like this get pushed through the pass? Where is the quality control? the over season short rib and the crunchy risotto was a complete Hidenberg. The servers were attentive and patient as we tried to make sense of the new menu but the bar lost it’s mojo. Old Fashioned used to be a must have here but ours came out with too much Angostura bitters in it or with way too much whiskey. I’m not one to shy from a hard drink but like the entrée’s presented, there needs to be balance and harmony. Just to be safe, I ordered just kept to me neat Scotch for the rest of the night. Thank goodness they didn’t put an ice cup in my Monkey Shoulder. In conclusion, Hopscotch has hit rock bottom. From food to simple drinks, everything is a incohesive mess. But like most underdog boxing movies, the protagonist always finds a way to win even when all is hopeless. I’m hoping with some extra time, care, and thought, management, new or old, will be able to bring this location back to its glory days. At this time, I simply can’t recommend this location to anyone willing to spend a penny of their hard earned cash. P. S. — Screw the server who tried get my gf’s number AFTER he served the two of us the whole night. Decided to swoop in right after I left to go to the bathroom… punk move.

My friends warned me that this would be a pretty hipster bar and it was. But don’t let that stop you from getting a good brew from this place. The bartenders are pretty knowledgeable of their beers. Their tap list is not that big, but it’s pretty diverse. They also carry bottles and cans in case none of the beers on tap interests you. It’s conveniently located just across from the Fullerton Metrolink Station. Parking can be a little bit scarce after work. It’s a decent location to watch a sports game since they have several TV screens. *Black House Modern Times Coffee Stout* I’ve had this one before at a different location on tap. This was poured from a can. It was just as good as I remembered it to be. It’s one of my favorite coffee stouts. *Maui Brewing Coconut Porter* This was also poured from a can. I don’t like coconut flavored drinks, but I guess I will have to make an exception with this one. It only had a hint of coconut which made the porter taste unique. Overall this was a nice place to grab a few drinks and watch some football. I would like to come back to check out their food.

When you see a sign outside the bar you’re at that says, «Education is Important but Beer is Importanter,» you know you’re at the right place. Apparently, Hopscotch is the spot to be at on a Thursday night! The bar itself is huge — outdoor seating(with heating lamps), bar seating, and another sit down restaurant like room on the other side. I was really diggin’ all the quotes about beers, whiskey, and drinks on all the walls. Bartenders are attentive and have a slight heavy hand. Summer cocktails are $ 12 and not served after 11pm. The pineapple negroni was strong af, which is the way I like my cocktails! Shout out to the guy who walked by and asked me, «Hey! Didn’t we just connect on Tinder?»(We didn’t.) It definitely gave my group a good laugh!

Hopscotch is such a great name. They have a great selection of scotches and beers to back it up. My husband felt the scotch was a bit overpriced compared to other places. The draft beer gets changed regularly which I like. I tried the salvage fries. They were delicious. I belive the sauce was a sirracha aloli and that was the best part. I also enjoyed the size of the fries(not too fat and not too skinny). The only thing i would ask is to put more bacon on those suckers. I love the whole vibe of this place. Its hip with the music being the best part. Its a mix of oldies, and blues and it totally fit the setting. I like the fact that the bathroom sinks are community and separate from the toilet area. That should be an easy setup for a guy to hollar at a girl. It also prevents me from having to touch another door handle after washing my hands. Victory! Sit at the bar and say hello to George Clooney. ;-)
