Been coming here almost every weekend(sometimes twice a week) and it’s been absolutely great. Not pricey for what you get, and sometimes you can get in for free. everyone is hilarious and it’s always nice to come here for a laugh after a long week.

Meh, been to much better shows around the LA and OC. A lot of loud yelling and not super creative. Obnoxious bro humor I guess.

I’ve only been here twice, but I know I’ll be back. The performers are very talented and funny. Entrance is cheap($ 5) and you can even roll dice at the front to gamble how much you pay, which I think is pretty clever. Good for a date night, at a great set up. Props to them.

Been here twice already and each time is completely different. Place is small but it makes it more intimate. Such a hilarious cast. I suggest to buy your tickets online before the show. You’ll get to sit in the first 2 rows. Don’t worry if you don’t receive an email confirmation they have your name at the door.

Got no plans on a late Fri or Sat night? Go to Improv Shmimprov to get a good laugh! How is this different from comedy stand-ups? The people go through various games and must improvise on the spot. The cast is very talented. I promise you won’t be disappointed! Make sure to get there half an hour early and line up because it’s a fairly tiny place with limited seats, and this place always fills up. Otherwise, buy tickets ahead of time for $ 11/seat and guarantee yourself a front row seat!

A MUSTGOTOSHOW! WEWILLBECOMINGBACK I was searching for things to do in Fullerton this past weekend, when I came across this improv show. I decided after reading all of the raving reviews that my boyfriend and I would give it a try. We showed up about 10:20PM on a Saturday night and the line was already starting to form.(probably about 15 people ahead of us) there is plenty of parking. I would suggest getting a hot coffee or a drink to drink while you wait, since we waited about 45 minutes outside. We were able to enter the theater at 10:55 pm. Once you enter the theater you can see it is not a very big venue(holds about 45 people) but the comedians make up for the lack of space. You can pay the $ 5 charge at the door to get in, or challenge your luck against the owner of the theater and roll the dice against him. If your dice beats his, you get in free. We got lucky first night and we both got in for FREE! There is a bar which serves alcohol and non alcoholic drinks, I am pretty sure this is a 18+ show because it does have adult content and obviously starts at 11 pm. The comedians were absolutely the BEST I have ever seen, they were wonderful. I have never been to a comedy show in which I laughed as much as I did here(which is sad considering you pay $$ to see big name comedians that are incapable of the show and talent that these individuals are). Being a improv show they are interacting with the audience the entire time, their jokes are made up on the spot and come from your suggestions. I am ALWAYS looking for inexpensive fun things to do on the weekend in the Orange County area and this was definitely and great experience and I plan on bring many more people to enjoy the magic of a good laugh.

There’s so much greatness to be said about this place but I will keep it short and sweet. First time was Friday with my boyfriend. We got to participate, chance our luck and get in for FREE, laugh our asses off, and go home wanting to come back the next week. Which is exactly what we’ll be doing for a long time.

This place was awesome. Came here for the first time with a small group of us after reading some Unilocal reviews. You can’t beat the $ 5 admission price and if you roll the dice against the ticket seller and beat his roll, admission is free! Which happily happened to me. The theatre itself is smaller so shows sell out quite often. We were the last four let into the Saturday showing and we arrived about 10:20 to stand in line. It pulls a younger crowd, but there is definitely adult material so my thirty year old husband and I fit right in. I wouldn’t bring my mom here, however. Her reaction to antelope raping isn’t on my list of experiences to have, but for friends it’s perfect. Something to keep in mind if you’ve never been there before, you will wonder where the hell you are and if Google Maps has dropped you off at a drug deal in progress. Then you’ll see a line forming next to a church building. Are the drug dealers repenting for a rapture in progress? Am I going to have to pretend that I don’t find sexual innuendos hilarious? No, the theater’s just around the corner. The show is excellent, I have seen so many«professional comedians» and have not laughed as hard or as long until seeing Improv Shmimprov. I could feel my inner hipster die slowly with every passing guffaw. It helps that Nick McGee is easy on the eyes and a mom-approved version of Bam Margera. 5/5, definitely bringing people here again.

I’ve been to Improv Shmimprov at least 4 – 5 times. Every week, it’s a different cast — each of them witty and humorous. The show runs for roughly 60 – 90 minutes, and a fun way to spend a late Friday night! Entry is only $ 5, or you can roll the 1 – 10 dice to try your luck at a lower price. I usually just stick to the flat $ 5 entry though because I’m «boring,» as they remind me upon entering the theatre. Speaking of the theatre, Maverick is awesome! I love to support these small theaters. It’s a nice, homely environment — mixing well with the rest of Downtown Fullerton.

If you have nothing to do on a Friday or Saturday night, this is the place to be. It is super entertaining and I promise you will laugh. Give it a try! It is only $ 5 a ticket!!! I think it was probably one of the best $ 5 I spent on something. It is similar to Whose Line is it Anyways? and I love that show. Note: the humor is not clean. It is not filthy dirty humor, but I would rate it as PG-13. Go early because the tickets sell quick. I went on a Friday(it was my first time) and 17 people couldn’t get in because it was a full house. Show starts at 11PM and I arrived there at 10:20PM. There was a line, but was able to get seats. If you are scared that you can’t get your tickets at the door, you can buy them online! It is $ 11 though. Go on there website, they have more information about prices. Hope you enjoy the show.

I went to my first Improv show yesterday and I can’t believe what I’ve been missing out on! The cast was fantastic, and shout-out to the host for letting me come on stage! Tips: **Start lining up ~10:20pm or earlier — there was a sizable line by 10:40pm, and you want to be close! **Roll your price! The max is $ 9, which is more than reasonable for the amount of fun you get. Definitely coming back!

Super fun Saturday night comedy ! The cast was great and some of the skits had me doubling over with laughter ! They do a variety of skits(hit or miss, mostly hit!) and the host AJ is a quite handsome, British chap. Definitely a must see if you are in DTF ! P. S. I ended up paying ten dollars at the door because I chose to not be boring and challenge AJ ! So be careful !

You know how they say, «You get what you pay for»? Well, this is an exception. You get much more than you pay for! I went on a Friday night with a party of 9 people. EVERYONE in my party loved it. If you don’t mind some occasional dirty humor, this is a must-see show. The cast is super clever. It doesn’t disappoint. Your first time, arrive early because it might be a little tricky to find.

I haven’t been this excited about a place in a long long time. A friend and I decided to be spontaneous and give it a try. It was a bit hard to find because it’s in a secluded area, and it was also a rainy night. We got there a bit late and there was a line, and we were still able to get a ticket at the door. They asked us to «fight» them or roll the die-so I chose the latter. Unfortunately both my friend and I rolled a 9! So we paid $ 9 each haha. Which wasn’t very lucky of us. It didn’t seem like they accepted anything other than cash btw. The décor is really cool. It’s obviously sort of art deco meets 1920’s. The bar was to the far left. The stage was fairly large, and there were about 4 to 5 rows of chairs. As for the show, it was super hilarious. I couldn’t help but obnoxiously laugh so much. I love Improv and this place had it all. It was super funny, and due to the size of the stage and audience, the show feels intimate. You actually feel like your opinion and words are being heard by the host– which was cool. The audience ranged in age, and everyone seemed to be having a good time. I can’t wait to go back, and I’m super thrilled to have discovered this little place.

I’ve been going to improv for about 4 years now. It’s one of my favorite things to do on the weekends. The performers are all really cool, with their own style of humor and acting. Keep in mind that no one is going to absolutely love every single performer, because there’s such a large and diverse cast, which is part of why I like it so much. I’ve brought tons of different friends to improv over the years, and all of them have loved it. The humor is often pretty crude and vulgar, so if you can’t stand hearing the F word or watching skits that would offend your grandma, then this might not be the show for you.

My friends and I went to the Maverick Theater to see a play in the summer of 2012, and saw a poster for Shmimprov in the lobby. My friends and I thought«$ 5? why not?» so we bought tickets and stayed for the comedy. Now, a year and a half later, we have gone almost every single weekend since that first time. A completely different show every time and a good long laugh til it hurts for 10 bucks a week(cuz I see both shows) is so worth it it’s incredible. Don’t go if you are faint of heart and can’t take profanity or vulgar jokes. But I love that stuff. The comedians are amazing on stage and great people to talk to offstage. It has become a tradition with my friends to meet up on Friday and Saturday nights to get our laugh on, and Shmimprov is the place to go for anyone who needs a good laugh to finish out the week.

I’ve been coming here for about 10 years now and i love it !! It’s $ 5 to get in if your boring or you can roll a dice to determine how much it cost to go in. There is an obnoxious group that seems to go every week but the show is totally worth it. Shmimprov gets 5 stars

Good: — Inexpensive. $ 5 at the door but you get booed to your face by several people. — Advance online ticket is $ 11 per person but you get to sit at the first 3 rows from the stage. — Young 20 – 30’s crowd. — Plenty of free parking nearby. Not so Good: — The crowd can be obnoxious. — One of the comedian was not happy no one got his vague act and had no trouble yelling«FU» to the crowd. Note: I think Improv Shmimprov can be a fun and entertaining show but it didn’t make me feel like I want to go back for more.

I used to go to at least one of these shows every week for about 2 years(2006 – 2008) before I moved to Seattle. I came back recently and started attending shows again. I expected things to be a little stale, the performers to be a little amateur and so on… Not at all. The shows are still excellent, the performers are still fantastic, and the price is still right. Saturday nights tend to fill up faster than Friday nights, so try to get there a little earlier.
