The phở was horrendous. We were hung over looking for something soupy and so someone suggested phở. It’s a sure sign that the phở wont be good if it comes in an overly large bowl/amount. That’s how the phở came out. The broth was just salty and super sweet without any real beef flavor and it had this weird almost cleaner like taste to it. The meat was of poor quality. The table also ordered egg rolls that came out bland and soggy so we just left it.

I absolutely love this place. The price is affordable and the food is good with big portion. Most of the time I call into order my food, the same man answer. Even if his English is not great at the end of the call he gets my order right and I’m happy. I once called and crave for something completely off the menu something like chow fun but with a different noodle and when I got there he made exactly what I explained! I definitely recommend this place.

I ordered the banh xeo, upon looking at it, I was not very pleased. But I don’t judge the book by its cover. Turns out, I was right though… Unfortunately. The skin of the banh xeo was not crispy all around. The pork and shrimp inside were both undercooked. I don’t even recall if there was onion in it. Honestly the bean sprouts was the best part. I was hungry so I finished it(except for a few pieces of soggy skin) i guess it was edible but I would not order again. Prob won’t come back again either. My friend ordered a vermicelli with nem inside, or it supposed to. The«nem» was not a nem… It looked like a turkey patty. The consistency and taste are both way off from what a nem should be. Few pros though i guess: food came out fast, good service, pretty cheap.

I love coming here for the phở but I don’t know if it’s just me but I feel like the workers always sit the customers who are not of their race on the other side of the wall where we are not visible. Every time I have gone, I’ve been seated by the wall & noticed it’s the same for everyone who walks in. Maybe I’m just being paranoid…

Was introduced to this place by a Vietnamese friend back ~1999. Glad to see it’s still around and their Phở as tasty as ever! Love their Phở! I think it’s one of the better ones in N. OC. Their soup is very addictive, with a hint of sweetness(haven’t figured out what it is from). And, they give you quite a bit for their price. Their regular size is like large at other places, and their price is like for small at other places. Not kidding. This is the least expensive Phở anywhere but you will leave stuffed!

My family has been coming here for years! I think since I was around the age of 7 – 8? 14 years later and I’m so glad this place is still around and still so good! I still see the same guys that worked here all those years ago and they’re still friendly. To be honest, their dialect is very thick and it can be hard to understand them, but they’re kind. Some of them speak some Spanish too! I’ve been to many Vietnamese and phở restaurants and to this day, this is still my favorite of all time. The food is delicious, portions are generous, and the prices are still so cheap! The fried/grilled chicken is still my absolute favorite! I highly recommend their phở and either #18 or #24!

Whenever I am shopping at AR Mart next door, I eat here. The menu is extensive and super cheap compared to other phở places around. Been here 4 times in the past 3 months. Always had phở and bun dishes. They are okay nothing to rave about. I only enjoy real authentic Vietnamese food so this place is not too bad in Fullerton area. Haven’t tried the meal combos or other dishes but maybe next time. Tips: If you are into Phở Bo Kho, don’t order it. If you like Bun Bo Hue with pork blood, you need to ask them to add it in for like $ 1 extra.

Haven’t been here in years!!! So glad to see the men who have been serving and cooking here for years! They are all so sweet! I usually get the wonton soup(with or without egg noodles) OR phở. The broth is amazing! Service is good. Price is good. Parking is bad because of the market but oh well. It’s a staple phở place in Fullerton. If you are from Fullerton, you know this place. If you don’t thennnnn I don’t know what to say except you have been missing out!

I came here the other night with my boyfriend because he’d never eaten Vietnamese food ever in his life before. I go crazy for phở its one of my favorite things on this planet. Super friendly service, very helpful, assisted us immediately. Food was very FAST. The phở wasnt anything specail. My boyfriend enjoyed his beef plate. Our bill was like $ 11, so you cant really go wrong with that. I’ll be coming here again.

Nothing special. I ordered the number 49 and I was thoroughly underwhelmed. The meat had decent flavor but was chewy and reminded me of jerky. The vermicelli noodles were cooked well and had good flavor. The vegetables just tasted off and soapy almost. I’m not sure what it was but it was boring. The spring rolls we ordered were nothing special. They were okay. Peanut sauce was good and not too thick. Overall the experience was bland and just meh. The décor on the inside is extremely outdated and I didn’t enjoy the ambiance at all. There were purple counters which reminded me of the 80s. We also had difficulty with the menu, just very long and complex. Our servers were a few older men and at one point they were even doing some work with the cutlery in plain view of the customer. I think all that should be done somewhere else. Overall this place seems depressing and outdated.

I don’t know if I have reviewed this place in the past. And in the past I would say I would normally give this a four star review and up. But lately, i’m not sure if the employees and owner have decided that they very much dislike my presence, even though I have done nothing to warrant this. My attendance getting food here has been super spotty over the years due to health reasons. And seems like quality of service has deteriorated very very recently for me. I ordered a phở ga(chicken), number 5, to go for my mom and they gave me a beef. I ordered number 21… And they gave me one chili paste and soy sauce(why soy sauce?) with it. One hoisin and sriracha for my moms phở… I used to get two of each(hoisin and sriracha) for each soup. Again I don’t know if it’s because they are trying to get rid of me. These mistakes have been happening often every time I go lately. I am sorry I couldn’t give this place a better review, the soups were tasty and well worth their value.

Nothing special about this phở place. It’s like any other Phở(insert # here) with a lot of options, run down seating, quick as hell service which makes you wonder if they prep your items properly or not, and in what’s got to be one shady ass shopping center.

It’s really hard to find a good Vietnamese restaurant with a reasonable price in the Orange County. 80% of the dishes on the menu are under $ 6 dollars! And their regular size of bowl is equal to large size bowl from other places. They have a lot more choices than other Vietnamese restaurant. This is the my third time visit in this month since I discovered this place. Service is very good and they will remember you and what you like. There are plenty of seats in this restaurant, bring more friends over so you could try more items from the menu. PS. They also take American Express!!!

Kim Loan has been around since I was a wee lad. I remember I was in preschool! So its been a good 26 years! It has alonggggg history since this was the only Vietnamese joint in North Orange County when I was growing up! This place plaza was burnt down in the 90s. Then it was remodeled due to that. The super market near by has their waves as well. It was Alpha-Beta, then something inbetween, then Ralphs, now H Mart! My favorite entrée would be: Hu Tieu Tom Cua Ko(Dried noodle with crab) Phở Dac Biet(Phở Special) Hu Tieu Xau Do Bien(Stir Fried Noodle Seafood) I’m a noodle fan. Can you tell? The setting will have your traditional Vietnamese background music, with the décor from the 90s. Good ol’ memories! And surprisingly great customer service. Very rarely would you find customer service at a Vietnamese restaurant. But they are good with refills, getting your order, and checking to see if you need anything. Basic customer service right? At a Vietnamese restaurant… that’s consider royalty! :D

Even though today was like 100 degrees, I decided to stop by because I love eating cheap phở whenever I’m forced to come to the OC. Unilocaled phở restaurants and this place had 4 stars and it was 1 mile away from where I was. So I decided to give it a try. Upon entering, I was immediately seated and approached with a cold glass of water. I scanned the menu for tofu phở– they didn’t have it. But I told the waiter and he didn’t say no. Anyway, I decided to go to the bathroom to wash my hands. By the time I came back, a huge bowl of sizzling hot veggie tofu phở, and my red and green bean coconut milk dessert was sitting at my table. What is this place? Like Phở heaven express? Anyway, the portion was generous and everything was tasty– the broth, tofu, veggies, etc. The waiter never came to check on me and I had to walk up the the register when I was ready– in true phở restaurant style– totally dig it. Living in Silverlake, I’m so used to eating $ 10 a bowl, Americanized phở. So I can definitely appreciate a fresh $ 5.75 bowl of authentic tasting phở served by a family operated restaurant. Cheap. Clean. Fast. Tasty. I would definitely come here more often, if I didn’t live an hour away: /

The staff here is extremely friendly and attentive. I’ve come back a few times to try different dishes to really give this place a chance and find that diamond in the rough. Regrettably, most of the dishes I have had have been bland(in the case of the Phở Tai and the egg noodles) or very dry(in the case of the charbroiled pork and vermicelli noodles). Even the egg rolls were powdery from being undercooked. I frequent a lot of Vietnamese places and I really want to like this location but it is hard to recommend with so many great Vietnamese restaurants further down Brookhurst. If you need a quick fix with great service, you could do worse. I just wouldn’t seek out this restaurant in particular. Update: Went back a final time and frankly the food is not good. The meat is dry and there really isn’t much flavor to the dishes. It’s Vietnamese food but regrettably it’s not good Vietnamese food. The service is fine and the servers are nice.

Decent phở broth and food came up super fast, but those were really the only two positive things I got for this Vietnamese restaurant. Problem #1 — Feels like a rundown Asian restaurant. Problem #2 — Confusing menu. Just a note about the difference between #1 and #2 phở — basically same thing, except that #1 is large-size bowl and #2 is normal-size bowl. Problem #3 — Food itself tasted … subpar. *** #2 Phở Dac Biet(special beef, fresh and boiled beef, trip and tendon soup — $ 5.75): Pretty good broth, but not enough meat and beef quality was average at best. I had a sample of #50 Bun Thit Heo Nuong(broiled shrimp & pork with rice vermicelli noodle) and my goodness … so many black charred meat. No, no, and no. *** It was a good one night stand for my belly, but I won’t be coming back here again. P. S. — This place got burned down few times in the last 20+ years since their opening.

I’m sorry, but this is a sorry place to be called a Vietnamese Restaurant, and i’m not picky when it comes to food either. I’ve come here on three different occasions and my view is still the same. I was already skeptical when it was a Vietnamese Restaurant inside of an all-Korean district. It didn’t help that they«supposedly» specialize in everything. Typically, Vietnamese restaurants are known for one or two dishes. You go to a Phở restaurant to eat phở, a noodle restaurant to eat noodles, etc. Apparently, this place had EVERYTHING, so I decided to give it a try, and boy was I disappointed. I first tried the Bun Bo Hue, because I was craving a spicier and more savory dish than Phở. The broth was as red as this Unilocal sign, so i imagined it to be extremely spicy, but in fact, all i tasted was the powder. I think they just boiled up some hot water and added a Bun Bo Hue mix to it and sent it to my table. That was the first NO for me. On my second visit, I tried the Com Ga Nuong, which is broken rice with a side of grilled chicken. Like other places, you get this large piece of chicken that you can cut up, sort of like a T-bone in a way. My dish came out with some flimsy pieces of meat, I couldn’t tell whether it was pork, beef, chicken, etc. The taste was mediocre as well, nothing special. I don’t even think you could call my rice«broken» rice because it has the same texture as regular rice. I don’t even remember the last visit because all I do know is that the restaurant did not redeem itself. I really wanted to like this restaurant because it’s closer than driving 20 minutes to Bolsa or Westminster for some good Vietnamese food, but i will NOT be back. Whenever I crave Vietnamese food, i’d rather make that 20 minute drive to Bolsa just so I can actually have some REAL Vietnamese Food.
