After being tired of wearing glasses and unable to wear contacts due to dry eyes, I committed to having Lasik in 2007. Since I consider my vision to be my most important sense(tied with hearing), I dilligently researched doctors before consulting Dr. Lingua. My initial fears are similar to those of most people, «what are the side effects» and«what is the probability that I go blind»? During my initial consultation with Dr. Lingua, my eyes were evaluated and I was educated on the different types of vision correction procedures. I learned that complications with an all laser procedure are minimal and that most issues occur when a scapel is used to create the initial incision. The conversation was very personal and imformative and was not the least bit salesy. I went in to the consultation expecting a sales pitch and left excited about having Dr. Lingua perform my procedure. The procedure itself lasted only about an hour from prep to finish. After sleeping most of the afternoon my fears of never seeing again vanished as I watched part of the Angel game that evening. I experienced the standard side effects of seeing halos around lights at night which vanished after several weeks. Overall, this was an outstanding experience and I cannot recommend Dr. Lingua and his great staff enough. The all laser procedure was a flat rate fee and included all pre-opp evaluation and post-op visits for an entire year. The best part about the experience is that although Dr. Lingua has performed over 20,000 procedures, I was treated as a VIP patient.

What better way to kick off 2008 than with a new and improved set of peepers? I’d been wanting to get lasik and I figured no time was better than the present. A co-worker referred me to Dr. Lingua. He’s friendly, professional and patient. Answered every last question I had, including the somewhat silly but important«can I go blind???» From start to finish, the procedure took less than 45 minutes, half of which was waiting for the xanax to kick in to relax you before going into the surgical room. I had all laser custom lasik. Dr. Lingua performs all of the surgeries in his office. It’s a trip because you’re awake but he talks you through the entire process, which definitely made the procedure less nerve racking. The lasering part took less than 10 minutes and didn’t hurt a bit. Got home around 3pm on Saturday, kept my eyes closed most of the evening and went to bed early. When I woke up at 8am on Sunday, TA-DA, everything was crystal clear! So awesome. Painless with minimal down time. Hands down the best $ 4500 I’ve spent. Just wish I did it sooner.
