Came here since we were in the area and hungry and decided this was where we wanted to go! Very nice ambiance and I can see plenty of people coming here to drink beers and chill. I ordered the mama’s stew which was actually a mistake considering how much we were in a rush and the stew was so hot I think I burned my tongue about 20 times. It was good and comparable to tofu soup(but definitely more like a stew) albeit a bit more expensive and without the side dishes if you went to a tofu place. The upside is they gave a ridiculous amount of rice which was really good once you mixed it in the soup. My friend got the spicy pork bulgogi plate which came with rice, kimchi, and salad. I tried the kimchi and it was ridiculously salty but I think everything else was quite tasty. Service is really nice and chill and they bring the food to you. They’re very observant as they refilled our water even when we sat in the corner. Overall I would probably come again but I would try the tacos because they look really good. Another downside was finding this place because it was literally a hole in the wall without the sign.

Mexican + Korean fusion are Seoulmates! Corny comment aside, food here was good! Location: in the SOCO district in an alley way near Harbor(across from the train station). Very modern and clean interior with seating similar to Chipotle. Food: I got their fries($ 3.50) and pork belly sliders($ 9) and my bf got their pork belly burrito($ 9). The fries came out hot, crispy and salty; just the way we like it. The pork belly sliders were delicious! The sliders came with cheese and carmelized onions which really enhanced the taste. The bun was a little soggy for me. I think it would be better if it was toasted. I didn’t try the pork belly burrito but my bf enjoyed it enough. We’ll definitely come back and try other stuff on their menu. I’ll try their tacos next time and see if it’s comparable to Kogi’s.

Small place and a little hard to find but totally worth the search! Met up with friend for dinner on a Saturday night. You don’t have to wait to be seated. The place was packed but I was able to snag a table. The food was really good! Plate of OG fried chicken wings– first bite I had without sauce so I could taste the chicken and batter/coating/crust. Chicken was hot and moist! So good. The crust was crispy and flavorful… But could use more spice. A little thick in some places but I like batter/coating/crust… Tried the sweet sauce and the hot sauce. A little sauce sauce goes a very long way. The spicy sauce was addicting. Every bit of crust that fell off was dipped in the hot sauce. Spicy pork plate — good size, tender meat but the spice on it was phenomenal! If you like good spicy … Like not the kind that cancels out all flavor but one that envelops your mouth and throat with heat but doesn’t kill the flavor. Rice was perfectly soft. Good dish. Old boy burrito — added avo and egg with some hints of sriracha… Explosion of flavor in my mouth. It’s huge too. I ate half but I ate other things too. The bulgogi and lime rice were perfection. I grew in ktown so I’ve had my share of Korean bbq. All I can say is good job. Fries — super tasty and had a good crisp(I typically order fries well done but I didn’t want to do that here since it was my first time… Didn’t have to. They were perfect). Can’t wait to go back! Leftovers = Happiness this morning!

Glad to see these guys here. Their LBC location is a dump but the food is good. This place is super nice and the food was also really good. We had the tacos w/spicy pork. Delicious. Great slaw and sauces. Also, had the amazing garlic fries. Absolutely delicious.

This place is amazing .The reason I came her was because of their whole in the wall place in Long Beach that has great food. I just had spicy pork belly burrito and it was awesome and I am hard to please. They have very good selection of ipas on tap and it’s nice relaxed stress free place to go for some top notch food and stress free evening. This place deserves do to well, it’s truly authentic. I’ll be back with friends to check out more of the menu

My new favorite place to eat in DTFullerton right now; I could literally eat here e v e r y d a y. I’ve already been here a handful of times and because I tend to be a creature of habit, my go-to right now has been the Running Man Burrito and Seaweed Fries. Hopefully next time I come by(ahem, maybe tomorrow, ahem) I can get myself to try something new — like the Bulgogi Plate! #OMNOMNOMNOM

The boyfriend and I have been wanting to come here for a while now. Unfortunately, it wasn’t what we had expected. In terms of the atmosphere: It was well decorated with unique pink wooden walls. It is a fairly small place. They have sinks outside of the restroom so if you only need to wash your hands, it is set up quite nicely for that. When you walk in, the menu boards are right above the registers. You order and pay first then seat yourself In terms of service: We were immediately greeted by the cashier. He was okay in terms of enthusiasm and helpfulness. In hindsight, I wish he pushed putting the chicken sauces on the side a bit more. I ended up regretting NOT getting the sauce on the side. However, they were very attentive to our refills, which I definitely appreciated. In terms of food: We ordered the«old boy» burrito, the 8 piece fried chicken with the seasoning of the«OG» and the«sweeties,» with their fries which were seasoned with a seaweed garlic and sesame flavor. The old boy burrito was okay. It took a while before you reached the meat. It would have been better if the burrito stuffings were distributed a bit more evenly. My boyfriend got an egg in it and that was definitely the highlight of the burrito. He doesn’t even like eggs but he enjoyed it in the burrito so that says something. However, next time we may try the burrito as a bowl. It is extra to add the egg. You can also add avocado. The fries were my favorite part. The seasoning is to die for. They definitely got that on point. Enough said. The fried chicken was bittersweet. You can’t go wrong with the OG. Their take on classic fried chicken was cooked perfectly. Love their batter and there are no small pieces! The sweeties flavored chicken was a huge disappointment. I think there was too much of, what it seemed like, ginger flavor. It overpowered the sweetness factor of the glaze which is why I wanted it. The cashier did mention that I could get the sauce on the side. However, since it was clear that it was my first time getting the chicken, I wish he had pushed that option a bit more or had described the taste of the sauce. If you like a bittersweet tang to your fried chicken, this one’s for you. I am not a fan. The chicken comes with radishes as a side dish. As a Korean who almost always eats radishes with fried chicken, I was again disappointed. It just wasn’t enough flavor. I was expecting more pickled radishes. All in all, our experience there was mediocre. I do want to try it again. Hopefully, next time it will be better.

I finally had a chance to try out this place. It’s kind of hard to find, since the front door is kind of in an alleyway. The interior is really cute, modern, clean and pink walls. The menu looked good and I couldn’t decide what I wanted. My friend suggested we share some stuff so we orders the pork belly burrito with a fried egg, the grandmas Korean soup and the kalbi plate. It’s actually pretty pricey stuff for what you get. The burrito, was pretty good, I was just disappointed in the lack of actual pork belly. I really couldn’t taste any.: | The soup is ok, needs a lot more flavor and needs to be spicier! The kalbi plate was most expensive I think and it was really lacking. Few pieces of bland kalbi with some rice and a side salad and bland Kim chi! Everything lacked flavor which is sad because Korean food is so flavorful!!! Guy who took our order was super nice and helpful: not sure I’d come back for pricey un flavorful food:(

MENUBREAKDOWN: «The classics» —(i.e. Korean dishes like Bibbimbap) — $ 11 «Burritos y tacos»($ 8 – 9) «Burgers y Torta»($ 9 – 10) «Plates»($ 10-$ 16) «Chicken»($ 9 – 25) ATMOSPHERE: The place was very modern and hip looking. Very aesthetic overall. However, they weren’t playing any music so it was kind of awkward. I did arrive about half an hour after opening, so maybe that had something to do with it? FOOD: I ordered the porkbelly sliders, porkbelly burrito, and French fries. I’ve tried better Asian-mex fusion places. However, the food is still good and great place to try if you’ve never tried a fusion restaurant :) Their fries were exceptionally good with the seaweed topping. **** TRYTHEIRSEOULMATESAUCE **** Honestly, I will probably return just for their seoulmate sauce. It’s good and you can pour that stuff on everything. Even asked for a few extra containers to take home, heh. IFYOUGO. This place is kind of hard to find. It’s in alley behind JP23! You won’t see it from the street, so just find jp23 and head toward the back.

As far as Korean fusion goes, this place is not my favorite. I prefer Kogi or Belly Bombz! Not to say this place is bad though! The venue itself is beautiful and simple, with the pink wood walls and all. I have to give 3 stars though because I don’t really see myself coming back, even though the food wasn’t bad. I mean I frequent other Korean fusion places and I like ALWAYS crave Kogi. Here at Seoulmate I ordered the Simple Sliders, which is just Bulgogi sliders. There was nothing wrong with it at all, in fact it’s actually reaaaally good! But they give you four little sliders for $ 9. They’re good, but not worth $ 9. Sliders at Belly Bombz are more worth that kind of price. These sliders really were simple. Too simple for $ 9. I also ordered a side of fries, which were $ 3 and SOGOOD. Addicting! My dad got the torta sandwich, my brother got one of plates, and my mom & aunt ordered the bibimbap. I tried them and they were better than the sliders, but I still don’t think I’d come back here tbh.(Burritos are also $ 9 which is a bit much and from other reviews don’t seem all that special)

YUM. Tucked in an alley off of Commonwealth, very close to Heros. This place has some good food. The plate is a good size portion and the pork was really good, the sliders are awesome(especially with a hint of sriracha). They even comped some fries! Great service and responsive employees. There are some tables and booths on each side of the wall. It’s a small location but it’s get enough to accommodate for several parties and large parties.

Unilocal challenge 2016(24⁄100) When Korean food meets Mexican food, you get Seoulmate! I’ve seen pictures of this place on Instagram. The burritos here are $ 9 each. I got to try the Old Boy and the Pork Belly burritos! I wouldn’t say they’re chipotle size, but it does fill you up. Both burritos were very good! They tasted a little similar in my opinion but I enjoyed both of them. The fries came out very hot and well done. Those were actually pretty good. It had furikake seaweed on top. They also gave us free cookies! I would love to come back and try more on their menu!

Tucked away in a little alley way, kind of hard to find, but it’s worth the hunt. Kinda small restaurant and it wasn’t too busy around 7:30PM on Friday night, but the cashier told me it was busier earlier. We got The Old Boy(bulgogi burrito) with avocado, 2 spicy pork tacos, 1 bulgogi taco, the spicy pork torta, and 5 chicken wings. They also gave us some of their french fries on the house. French Fries: They have seaweed bits on top, which is kinda cool, but other than that, they’re just some pretty ordinary fries. The Old Boy: I loved it! By far the best thing I had. I loved the flavor of the bulgogi and everything in it, the rice was also mushier, which I enjoyed. The burrito is a decent size, but definitely it was filled more cause there was a lot of excess tortilla. My other complaint would be to put more avocado in it! I paid an extra dollar and felt like there was barely any in there. Tacos: Pretty good, would get again. The tortillas seemed a little hard/stale, but other that, it had good flavor and a good amount of meat. Spicy Pork Torta: The bread itself was very soft, so that’s a definite plus. There’s something about it though that made me only want to have a little bit of it. Maybe it was the bread cause it’s so thick, but that’s what you get when you order a torta. Chicken Wings: Got them OG style with a side of the hottie and sweetie sauce. Neither of the sauces stood out to me. The chicken wings are pretty big pieces, and the batter that they’re in is kind of different. It seems like a thicker batter and kind of tasted pancake-y to me, which isn’t necessarily a bad thing. I enjoyed the wings, but probably won’t order them again. Overall this place is a good place to experience if you’ve never had Korean fused Mexican food. There’s a good amount of food and one entrée will probably fill you up, but the prices are a little high for me, like I previously stated. I’ll be back if I ever crave this again.

This place could be a little hard to find since it’s located in an alley. Look for the alley on your right when going east down Commonwealth right before crossing Harbor. I was able to find parking near Hero’s and walked over. Both my friend and I tried The Old Boy burrito with added egg in hers and avo in mine. Each burrito was packed with a decent amount of savory sweet bulgogi along with kimchi, onions, cilantro, lettuce and cilantro/lime infused rice. We both agreed that the additional egg/avo helped with adding extra flavors and moisture. The flavors were standard and did not blow our mind. The rice was a bit too mushy for my liking. I feel that there could be bit more heat or Korean spices, however, I appreciate that they weren’t too salty nor oily.

Stand out dishes at Seoulmate DTF! We stopped in here for lunch one weekend after our friend recommended it. We ordered some tacos, fries, chicken wings and a burrito to go. Its location is hidden so be aware. Service was friendly and helpful, would love to come back for their bulgogi tacos. I think it’s better than Urban Seoul in Irvine, IMHO. It’s not as greasy as Urban Seoul, which is a huge plus. Skip the chicken wings, we had a batch of uncooked wings and the batter didn’t really do it for us. Overall, I’m still a fan and will come back.

Seoulmate is a korean-mexican fusion restaurant that serves soju and pretty solid craft beers(Stone delicious IPA, orange wheat, racer 5 ipa, etc). The place is pretty tiny so it may be hard for groups larger than 6 to eat here. As for the food: Fries: They gave us a complimentary plate of fries. This hit the spot :) Bulgogi Plate: This was a pretty tasty dish all around. Mama’s stew: Not sure why this is called a stew… more like tofu miso soup. There were a few bits of pork belly here and there but it was like playing where’s waldo. The broth was tasty… but where’s the meat? Pork belly burrito: I actually thought this burrito was kind of plain. Definitely needed something to kick it up another notch. Wings: I tried a few of the flavors and they were okay. They do use a bit too much breading and were kind of soggy. Double fry the suckers! I had a decentexperience here as some dishes were solid and other’s were just okay. Having awesome craft beers here + soju was definitely the best quality about this place. 3.5 stars

You can honestly not go wrong with anything here. Bibimbap is my current addiction. Topped with a perfectly fried egg! I added pork belly this time, and it was amazing! Update: Came in for lunch again. Service was on point. There was a good crowd and everyone was served quickly. Parking was easy! You can park in the SOCO lot or there’s this huge parking structure on Santa Fe.

This location is tucked behind Continental room in Downtown Fullerton. It’s got a nice, clean modern ambience, but it’s kind of hard to find. There’s also not much parking, so consider parking in the structure just across from Continental room and Heroes to make your life a little easier. My first impression was a pleasant one. The staff was friendly, attentive and full of smiles as we walked through the door. We perused the menu and my boyfriend immediately decided that he was getting the pork belly burrito, because who wouldn’t automatically order a pork belly burrito, right? I, on the other hand asked for some recommendations. I always like to try their signature dishes during my first visit to a restaurant. The server made a couple of recommendations and I finally settled on the Old Boy, which is a bulgogi burrito. I opted to add a fried egg, and that was a pretty good decision on my part. The pork belly burrito was amazing! The meat was super tender, and whatever the sauce they had in there complimented it perfectly. Each bite was delightful. The bulgogi was pretty good too. I know bulgogi is generally on the sweeter side, but this one was a bit too sweet for me. Next time, I’d probably skip the bulgogi. I did like how well the rice and kimchi complimented the bulgogi too, but they weren’t enough to take away the sweetness of the meat. I added a fried egg(as I had mentioned earlier), and that was a pretty good decision. If recommend it! Overall, I’d come back here. The food was good, the staff was nice, and the location was very clean. My only disappointment was how long it took the food to come out. I suspect it’s because they’re still trying to find their groove, since the location is new. For now, I will give them the benefit of the doubt and try them again in the near future. I just hope I’m not starving when I order, because the long wait could turn me into a hangry monster. Haha. Anyway, give it a try. I don’t think you’ll be disappointed.

Finally a Korean/Mexican fusion at DTF. It’s different, dank, and more importantly DELICIOUS. Plus, the service is outstanding. Move over Kogi Truck, Seoulmate will take over Fully now! Food– Each bite is consistent as it tastes the same throughout the entire meal. In addition, they are pretty generous with their portions unlike other places! They seriously loaded our order with sooo much meat, rice, Kim chi, and a bunch of quality goodness. The Old Boy(bulgogi burrito) — Loved every bite of it. This combination was out of this world. I was hesitant to try it because I don’t like Kim chi but it was a perfect combo, trust! You must try this. Don’t forget avo & eggs Spicy Pork Torta — Boyfriend loved his order as well. Make sure to order Avo and Eggs ;) Fries — Addicting lol I tried my bf’s and I couldn’t resist just eating 1
