Sylhouettes By Sylvia

We were so excited to have a silhouette artist at our wedding! I just wouldn’t recommend Sylvia. All of our guests loved the idea of a silhouette artist, however every one of them said that she was very rude to them. She also had a tip jar on her table that I didn’t know about (and think is totally inappropriate at a wedding!). We paid her in full and gave her a tip, there was no need to ask for tips from guests. Also, she shut down without giving the parents of the bride AND groom a chance to get their silhouettes done! She didn’t even give us an opportunity to pay her for over time to stay a little while longer to get some more of our family done who had been busy during the beginning of the reception. Also, I had emailed her the night before the wedding to re-​confirm that she would have a guest book and pen and I offered to get them if needed. She said that she would be bringing them with her and that I didn’t have to bring anything. When we got to the reception, she told us that she forgot the guest book. I now have a stack of silhouettes that were SUPPOSED to be in a guest book as a memoir from our special day. She didn’t offer any type of discount for forgetting this important item and on top of that she was rude and wouldn’t even make an exception (that we were willing to pay for) to stay a little longer to do the parents of the bride and groom. I would HIGHLY recommend that you do NOT use her for your wedding (or any other event if this is her level of professionalism). SO disappointing.

Sylvia was so wonderful! our wedding guests were thrilled to have their silhouettes done & even my friend who is getting married wants to use her :)! She responds to emails quickly & the price is affordable. Her daughter that works with her is such a sweetheart too.

To share my personal experience with this vendor…
We booked Sylvia for an event of ours and paid our deposit, in full and in good faith, only to find out that she disappeared a month before the event date, WITH OUR DEPOSIT, leaving us with nothing. We were forced to file a complaint to get our deposit back. Never once did she ever reach out to explain or apologize for leaving us high and dry.
In my opinion — Sylhouettes by Sylvia is not a dependable vendor.
