Dr Wu is great! She is pleasant, professional and friendly. Without her thoroughness, I wouldn’t be writing this today! She literally saved my life. I went to see her for a spot on my arm and she noticed a different spot that I didn’t even notice, this spot turned out to be a very aggressive form of melanoma. She was smart enough to send me immediately to a wonderful oncologist, Dr Jakowatz, who commened dr Wu for finding the spot and sending me to him ASAP.

This review is based on my family’s experience with Dr. Tobey Wu-Kuo. This morning, we took my father to see her. He’s been waiting 4 months for an appointment because he has had a terrible rash. They waited over an hour in the waiting room before she was available to see him. Once she went in the room, she was cold, short, and had an overall bad attitude. We told her about the rash and showed her the affected areas. There were 2 rashes and before we could finish explaining, she curtly said, «these are 2 different things! Do not get them mixed up! You don’t know anything!».. Whoa there. Ok. Relax please. She then proceeded to ask us what kind of medication he had been using so we told her, lotrisone. This is when the first attack ensued. She started listing off all the different kinds and dosages of lotrisone quickly while rolling her eyes and excessively sighing like«how do you not know this?». We told her that we could call CVS to confirm, she said«forget it. it doesn’t matter!». She said that my father was dirty and that he needed to clean himself better to avoid the rash. You guys have to understand, my father is very clean. He takes a shower and cleans himself daily. We were really taken aback at her blunt, and frankly, rude comment. We told her that he cleaned himself everyday to which she responded, «well, he needs to clean himself better. He is dirty». I’m no doctor, but I’m pretty sure that you are not supposed to talk to your patients that way. My father had just about enough of her so he said that he wanted to leave. We proceeded to stand and then she said, «Do you want the medicine or not?!». My mother lost it at that point and told her that she can’t treat people this way. The doctor then proceeded to storm out and say«I don’t want to talk to you anymore». As a doctor, you should let the patient know if he/she needs medicine or not. Patients come to see you not because they are healthy, but because there is an issue or discomfort that they are feeling. Just because you have an M.D. designation, that doesn’t give you a license to be rude and unprofessional. I wish I could say that maybe she was having a bad day, but we have dealt with her in the past when I had some bug bites that weren’t going away(she had the same attitude and didn’t really help the situation. I ended up going to another wonderful dermatologist who gave me cortisone shots to rid me of the problem). I do not and cannot recommend this doctor. Please take your loved ones to someone who is willing to help, who will treat you with dignity and respect, and who will be compassionate and understanding. If you have had a positive experience with her, then you are very lucky. I really wish we could have had the same experience.
