Buyer BEWARE!
I signed up for the gym membership, I asked for a paper application to read and go over the requirements I was told the contract had to be read to me, I was told were to sign! I was told by that I had 20 days to change my mind and my reimbursement fee would be returned to me and I would not be responsible for any charge! On day 17 I cancelled my agreement and on day 18 I received an email stating my membership was cancelled! One week later I went in to inquire about my refund and was told by the GM that’s she would contact the owner. However I never heard back from her. I called my bank they investigated the charge and returned to me my fee. One month later I receive a phone call and email stating my membership was over do and in collections! I called the collection agency to inform them of the mistake I was directed to speak to the gym! With I did, after numerous email this matter is not resolved! The manager is very rude, I would never recommend this gym!
To UFC who replied to my statement, «taking care of this matter» dose this mean my account will finally be taken out of collections?

So, first off, I just want to say this is my first gym ever that wasn’t just treadmills and machines. I had always wanted to learn kickboxing, but I had never actually did anything to get there. I searched up good places on Unilocal and found this place. The environment is very friendly with the staff always ready to help you and new people to meet every class. I had this impression that people who did boxing/​kickboxing/​any martial arts would be really intimidating and judge me for being a novice, but many of them were welcoming and also gave me tips on how to improve. Because the place is tight knit, you really get to know the people that come there.
For the classes, oh gosh, I get my butt kicked. Each workout leaves me drenched in sweat, something that normal gyms could not achieve for me. But it feels so good. I get the burn I need, and it has motivated me to keep going. Three months in as of 5÷5÷2016 :)
If you need the motivation to get off your lazy butt, go to UFC gym.

Trainers are the best compared to any other gym you might be used too. The motivation and atmosphere is far superior. Many people come here and stay members here because of Coach Billy Burke.

Overall I’m very pleased with my decision. This is not your average gym and you will pay a slightly higher price but considering that these are not your average workouts you will notice and see results much faster than a regular gym. I would highly recommend this place!
Since the holiday season is coming up I’m sure they will have a lot of deals so don’t delay make the commitment to yourself and come check them out!

Looking forward to my 3 day trial after a billing mishap. I was impressed with how quickly it was resolved by the general manager. All of the staff members seem enthusiastic.

I’m going with 3 stars only because their classes are pretty good! I love kickboxing and well this is the only class that’s sort of close to my schedule of work and school plus is the only one that’s close by. But their facility is pretty small they do kind of make everything work I guess. Their gym department is very limited but then again it’s almost never packed. I wish they had showers! It’s very inconvenient for me to try to make the earliest class rush as quick as I can back home and get ready for work. Usually most gyms have showers making it easier for their members to adapt the gym to our daily lifestyles. I mean for the price of almost 100 a month that’s the least they could do. Hopefully they incorporate that in a very very near future. I think they only have one bathroom? I’m not sure never been in there but if they do that pretty ummm… cheap of them they should also fix that. Oh and they should also fix opening a little later for people that come off late. Other than the showers, bathrooms, and hours the classes are great!

Trainers are great. This review is for management and sales associates. Be very carefull in reading that contract. I unfortunately trusted what i was told. They’re either not trained well or don’t give a damn and just want to sign you on to make a quick profit. Around February i needed to cancel my sons membership due to me losing my job. I was told it was… About 2 month later i have a collections agency calling to collect payment. I called the manager to adress this isue and he pretty much admitted the person who helped me misinformed me and was no longer working there. Apologized and said i still needed to pay the money. After being frustrated i said fine ill pay for your lack of management and proper training. I asked if they can stop my membership so it stops accumulating and i was told no. So basically they wont let me cancel a service i don’t want nor use. And they keep accumulating charges to this day!!! I really like the trainers and i was planning on signin my son up again. Dear UFC management Sadly i am not the first perso to have this problem which leads me to believe your employees are trained to make a quick buck and meet quotas rather than building strong loyal relationships with their clients. Hopefully you get some good management and prevent this from happening to other potential loyal customers.

What I like most about this gym is that he staff genuinely cares about your success through checking up on you and your goals, critically watching your technique for betterment during class, and are always extremely friendly and interactive with you. That is actually more motivating than the intense coaching motivation! I love this gym and I will continue to be a part of this gym for my own personal gains for physical fitness success! Thanks guys!

Very great open atmosphere, with a welcoming staff and high trained coaches that are very interactive with all members of the gym. Would highly recommend this gym for all ages.

I have been to my fair share of gyms and been through pretty mych every kind of workout program imaginable. None of them have anything on this UFC gym! The classes are led by professional fighters who are at the forefront of their styles. Even better than that, they Excel at teaching and making the classes fun and engaging! I have never worked harder and sweat more in my life and I am so much better for it. On top of the results, the sales staff is incredibly friendly and helpful. They really go out of their way to make you feel welcome and help out when you need it. They even helped me when I accidently locked my keys in my car! If you want results, practical fighting skills, or even just an engaging workout routine that always keeps you on your toes, this gym has it all! UFC for life!

Coaches are great. They were intimidating at first, but they warm up to people quickly.
They actually clean the mat. There was one Muay Thai class where I ended up getting a bloody nose in the octagon. The next day, I noticed that the blood had been cleaned up.
The advance classes have a wide variety of people (ie: high school students, girls, older men, & young men). I think this great because it makes the class more fun.
One compliant is that the decline bench is wobbly, and the water cooler doesn’t work. The place smells a lot like sweat, I’d prefer if they used more air cleaners.

I am now writing an updated review. I received a message from their new owner which sounded great. He apologized and asked if there was anything he could do to make it better (which I thought was a legitimate response and not just an attempt to get me to update my negative review — but I was wrong of course). I told him, I would still like my refund for the months but would even just take a discounted rate for the time I wasn’t allowed to go to the gym.
After that he stated it is like a «just like a Pre-​paid credit card, if you don’t use all of it, you can’t get your money back. It’s a fair deal, that’s why they called Pre-​paid».
This makes no sense related to my case, first off I pre-​paid for 6 months but was told I couldn’t come after 3 months so it would be like me purchasing a $ 100 prepaid card and then the company saying «gotcha» you only get $ 60 and its not our fault.
I don’t wish badly on businesses since I come from a family of business owners and I myself own a small business, but when a company continues to make up excuse after excuse and even lies I can’t help but wish that those reading my review go elsewhere. All of this could have been settled for less than $ 100, if the company would have been ethical. I am pretty sure they have lost more business now based on the number of «useful», «cool» and «funny» votes but what do I know I’m just an owner who cares about his customers.

The sales team can be somewhat unprofessional at times, but they’re also very friendly and have improved a lot since I started going to this gym in 2013.
The coaches though, are the best. They’re personable, humorous, and great teachers. I drive half an hour just to attend their classes. If it weren’t for them, I would’ve cancelled my membership months ago. Billy and Uchenna are the ones I go to if I really want a tough work out.

An excellent gym if you want to get your feet wet in the mma community. I saw that alot of the Equipment seems fairly new and the instructors and coaches are friendly.

Definitely a team of good salesmen. I am glad I read the reviews, as it is pretty obvious they rely on poor business practices. I called to ask a couple of questions and they did not want to give me any info over the phone. I went in and now they keep calling my cell.

This place is a waist of time. Very non professional. They never answer the phone, I have called or tried calling for two weeks now and no answer. They dont know how to run a gym. On top of it all their personal trainers as well seem to be unreachable. If you are serious about change or to get a good workout and respect, go to a different gym.

Got a call from Chris and he was very friendly and answered my questions and I set up my day to go in
I thought I was going to feel out of place or intimidated but boy was I wrong. I felt very comfortable walking in and I felt welcomed by the staff and the members there. Which something I always look out for.
I signed up for the kickboxing class. The instructor kicked our ass with the workout. I felt really good after the class and through out the day. Will definitely be joining this gym in the the next couple of months.

I really love this gym. It has a «neighborhood gym» feel. If you go often everyone knows your name. All the people, staff and other gym members are super encouraging and supportive. I’m a bit overweight and very out of shape, but since coming here I no longer feel any shame — everyone is super relaxed and friendly and at all different levels of fitness.
The coaches are great! They really push you to your limit and also provide one on one tips on how to kick, punch, stand, etc. All of the coaches have a good understanding of proper techniques for working out and how to box using proper body mechanics, so you don’t injure yourself (at least during class).
The only reason its not a ⁵⁄₅ is because there are no showers or locker room: /

Finally sitting down to write my review. I’ve been a member here for about one month now. A friend and I stopped in while waiting for another store to open, and although I don’t feel like my first experience was the greatest (this was under previous management), he was pushy enough to get me to come in and try a class. I really hate exercising and pushy sales, so I kept telling myself that I would probably cancel right away, that joining a gym was a waste of money. I came back later in the day and tried out Billy’s class, and honestly, I haven’t looked back since. Not only am I still a member, I’m here 5 days a week, and sometimes I hit up a 6^th day at the Corona gym.
The management has since changed and the front desk is now much friendlier, but everything else that made the gym great in still unchanged, if not better. I can only speak for the morning and afternoon, since this is when I frequent, but the coaches in the morning are excellent. Within two days of taking classes, not only was I sore, but I actually started seeing results. No other gym I tried showed me results that quickly. I’ve tried cycling classes in another local gym, and aside from very uncomfortable soreness in certain areas, it was nothing compared to the total body workout I had here at UFC.
Trevor is an excellent coach when it comes to technical stuff. Even though it’s a cardio-​kickboxing class that I attend, he is very good at making sure you use correct form. Billy’s class is a fast paced class that is constantly moving, and with both, I really enjoy the ab work at the end of class, I’m actually starting to enjoy Trevor’s «corners» now too. The coaches change up their classes all the time, so even though you get familiar with the combos, the class is always different enough to stay challenging and exciting.
It’s not just the classes that make the gym great. I especially love the people, both staff and members. It’s a very no frills kind of place. People are there to get in shape, there is no need to get pretty to come and work out, because by the end we’re all dripping with sweat and sporting crazy workout hair. Other members have offered me help and pointers a long the way, and it has been a great. The coaches don’t just come in before class or leave right afterwards, they are there to chat and help you out with your questions, which makes it a much more comfortable atmosphere. They do have lots of experience and there are pro-​fighters at the gym also, so the knowledge and advice they give are very sound and practical.
The facility is small, but really has everything you need. It’s got machines and equipment, boxing ring, floor mat, bags, weights, most of the stuff I don’t use, but it is there if I ever feel like it. They keep it clean, I see them cleaning and spraying stuff down all the time. Even though it does get sweaty and hot in there, it doesn’t stink when I come in every day.
The only downsides I see don’t really apply to me. There isn’t a shower, though I’ve heard rumors of new owners putting one in. But I go home and shower afterwards anyways, so I think it mainly affects people who come on their lunch break, but it can’t be that bad, because they still keep coming despite the lack of showers. Also, the hours on weekends are shorter and the classes are at times in the morning that conflict with my schedule, but really, doesn’t affect me much either because I go out to the Corona gym at night when it’s not crowded and work out there. Plus, coaches need lives too.
Also, this gym does not have childcare, but it doesn’t matter. It is very family-​friendly. I bring my kids, tell them to sit, and since the gym is just one big room, the seats are in clear view of where the class is. Some other parents bring their kids sometimes also, and no one ever gets underfoot. The new manager is very friendly with them and watches to make sure they don’t do anything dangerous, which is very helpful and definitely not part of his job description, but he’s a good guy like that. So I am very comfortable bringing my kids here while I do a class.
This gym has become like a second home for me, a place where I feel comfortable and actually get excited to go to. And this is coming from someone who hates exercising and hates sweating. They also have kids’ classes there, and the rates are so much cheaper than tae kwon do, that I’m considering signing my kids up soon. I highly recommend at least coming in and trying out a class just to see for yourself.
