I like the food. $$$$. If any complaints, it’s too small and one time we left before ordering because it was stifling hot inside. Not sure if it’s AC issues or what.

This place is usually good. Not today. Coffee was lukewarm and unable to order French toast. Maybe next time.

This morning 2 of my cycling buddies and I made a trek to Fulshear, Tx and back. A journey of about 40 miles on our bikes and when we got there to Fulshear which was at the 20 mile pt we decided to stop at this café for breakfast. Very bike friendly, we parked our bikes by this nice outdoor patio and ordered us up some breakfast tacos and omelettes! I had a pretty good peach flavored tea that they had and my buddies ordered a mango smoothie and latte. Service was really friendly and prompt and the food was pretty good! Nestled at a cyclist friendly corner in Fulshear we were among other cyclists enjoying a break and conversation! I liked the vibe! Plenty of nice seating inside and great baked goodies if in the mood! If ever in Fulshear whether cycling or in the area this place is worth checking out!

This is my new favorite breakfast place. It’s very small, but it fits them very well. The atmosphere is very cozy. I had the Huevos a la Mexicana which is Three eggs scrambled with onions, roma tomatoes, cilantro, fresh jalapeño, queso fresco, and avocado slices with pan seared potatoes and wheat bread on the side. Everything came out hot and fresh, all delicious. They didn’t skimp on anything, it was all perfect. The service was great and I’ll definitely be back.

We were in the area and decided to give it a try. Now I have to drive from Houston to eat breakfast here! I ordered the Huevas a la Mexicana and it was great! The potatoes need more seasoning but I didn’t even bother with them. It was probably the best egg breakfast I have ever had. Cute place, nice people lots of drink options, just wish I had one closer to me.

We love everything about this place except the wait. With all the cyclists in Fulshear on the weekend, it can take a while to be seated. Good things * Coffee — Some of the best espresso drinks I have had in the Houston area. I get their Lattes every weekend. I come from Australia, so it takes a lot to impress me with coffee. * Breakfast tacos — Made right there and cooked fresh, i.e. the ingredients go straight from pan to taco. None of this grabbing handfuls of stuff out of a pan that has been sitting there for hours. They do have trayfulls of pre-cooked bacon though, which is why I order the Chorizo or Sausage tacos. They also have a Double S sandwich which I order with a fried egg and it is the closest thing to a Bacon and Egg roll I have had in this country. * Their baked goods are made right there, the owner said that their Croissants come out of the oven at 6AM, so I am going to wake up early and get some one time. I would not recommend it for dinner, even though they are open. They are a great Breakfast and Lunch place though. If you are looking for dinner, head to Rays, Deckers or Fulshear City Grill(we really are blessed with great food here in Fulshear).

I have stopped in to the Essence House Café on numerous occasions but have had only a coffee to go as it is on the way to a number of my customers operations. Coffee is quite good. About 1−½ months ago I had an Mexican Omelette which was quite good and on the evening that I «Checked-In» on my Unilocal account had an enormous slice(just their standard slice-but it was enough for 2 – 3 adults) of Carrot Cake which was perfectly done with just the perfect balance of cream cheese frosting that was both sweet, with a touch of tartness, the cake with perfect moisture and consistency, chock full of what I suspect were fresh pecans because rather than simply adding a ‘nut consistency’ actually bore a distinct pecan flavor which was accented by the cinnamon. So far I can highly recommend coffee, Carrot Cake, and the Mexican Omelette but will need to return so I can reliably opine on every dish and dessert on the menu.

FOOD: I love having coffee there it is so delicious. I’ve had their omelettes which are good but their quiche is AMAZING! My favorite is the meat lovers but recently tried the broccoli cheese which was very good. I’ve tried their broccoli cheese soup but it was too watery for my liking and same with potato. I like to chew those types of soups. My favorite lunch item is panini because I haven’t tried much else :-(I can’t seem to try something new because panini is so good! ATMOSPHERE: too small. Every time I go in there I have to wait. Which I don’t mind much but it’s long wait it most cases. Even with the less positive remarks, I still love this place and recommend it!

Sodas are bottle & not fountain. Can be a little pricey. The $ 11.00 omlete is big and reasonable for $ 11.00. However, if you want a waffle with that, it is $ 8 for the waffle and bacon entrée, there is no waffle side. If you want soup with your sandwich, it is $ 6.50 for a bowl of soup, there is no cup of soup add on. The waffle entrée is $ 8 and comes with a meat, but no eggs. Overall, the food was good. On the personal preference side, there were a few things that weren’t to our taste… The waffle was tasty but not crisp, if I wanted a soft waffle I would have bought pancakes. The meat lovers on omelette was a little salty & the bacon in it was crispy to the edge of being burnt.

In «essence» a huge disappointment! We arrived and ordered drinks, the drinks came out at different times, I had to ask for a cup of ice to go with my soft drink. When we were out of coffee, the waiter brought the entire coffee dispenser to our table to fill the cups. How bizarre, how bizarre. We were excited to try this establishment with the reviews about being a gem and for the potatoes. To say the least, this is not a diamond! I ordered the meat trio that was to come with 3 meats, POTATOES and eggs(I asked for the eggs to come with cheese). The eggs arrived without cheese were the texture of a roofing shingles. The potatoes never came. Our meals arrived a different times and by the time everyone had their meals, some were already cold. My niece also ordered a side of potatoes that never came. Due to the lack of timing, we assumed they would be on their way. Although, 20 minutes into the meal, we still did not have either side of potatoes. Upon, requesting the potatoes, it turned into an inquisition where all servers were talking about it but never caring to take care of the situation. We were charged for the potato side dish but my potatoes never arrived. How sad. #FullmissinFulshear!

We tried Essence House after a neighbor recommended them to us. It was pretty good! Also, I am always a fan of finding gems in small towns. #SupportSmallBusiness I have nothing negative to say other than they need to clean up better in between guests. They seem to neglect sweeping the floors around tables, and I notice this as the mom of a toddler, since most of our toys/utensils/cups end up on the floor during meals. I ordered the tuna sandwich and it was perfect. The only downside is that they don’t have yellow mustard, only deli mustard, and that is my favorite thing to dip my tuna into(weird, I know). Hubby and our toddler got omelettes and both said they were good. We sat directly next to the cake cooler, and those cakes looked delicious. I will have to come back for dessert and coffee one day!

Came back two weeks ago and it was just as I remembered. Yum! Tomato basil soup and half sand which were excellent and filling and the atmosphere was perfect to relax and read my kindle.

I always come here for breakfast. Portions are pretty big and everything tastes fresh. Food presentation is a plus. Staff is friendly. Very busy Sunday mornings but it’s worth the wait. Plenty of coffee/smoothie/tea options as well. I haven’t tried anything on the breakfast or lunch menu that I didn’t enjoy.

I can’t believe I had not yet written a review for this excellent café. My wife and I have been regularly going here for at least the last 5 years. The food is just excellent, be it salads, sandwiches, breakfast dishes, or their delectable deserts. Friendly, cheerful, staff never hesitate to greet us with a smile. I would give it 6 stars if I could :)

Their customer service is always great! I’ve only popped in and out for their coffee and pastries but as I wait for my items to be packed up, I can’t help but eye their omelettes and other breakfast plates. They make all their pastries and they are absolutely delicious! They also sell specialty cakes for special occasions, and you can purchase by the slice as well. Love this local coffee place!

This was actually not our first choice, but our first choice ended up not being open for lunch. We looked right next door and happen to see this very nondescript little café. I’m glad the first place was closed because we had the best lunch in a long time! I’m so glad we found this place! I had the chicken salad sandwich and a cup of soup combo, so good! After talking to our waiter, we found out that everything is homemade, everything! There’s a big selection of baked goods in a display case as well as these awesome looking cakes. Service was awesome, food was awesome, everything was awesome. Oh, and there are very cool chalk board«paintings» on the wall. Really neat little place! Will definitely be back.

OMG! The food was on point! I heard good feedbacks about this place, so I though I’d check it out. The place is cute just as a café would look like. I decided to get the Wild Shrimp sandwich, let’s just say it is one of the BEST sandwich I’ve ever had and BEST shrimp sandwich I’ve ever had! As I ordered the sandwich I was looking at their sweets they look so delicious they had red velvet, cheesecake and peanut butter cookies. I was also looking at their salad bar everything looked so fresh, and a lady was fixing up a salad that looked so delicious that I had to have and I ordered that as well(Cobb Salad) WOW it was delicious! I will be coming back for sure!

Best cappuccino around! Skip Starbucks and come here! I also LOVE the steak omelet with the hot sauce. Yummy! My family loves to come for brunch and have French Toast.
For lunch/the Rueben sandwich is my fave!

We Unilocal a lunch place before we arrived!!! Awesome ratings and can see why!!! The food is delicious! We tried their new summer berry tea! Taste like a Starbucks refresher but BETTER!!! It taste like a slushy tea more than a smoothie as I think that’s what they call it. My husband had their salmon sandwich and I had their SoHo Sandwich! Both were fresh and made well. I would love to come back when I’m back in the area visiting!!!
