I ate the poboys/fries once and was satisfied, however, the fries were a bit salty, but good. Read other reviews for local catch information. I went a second time for the fries only, as we had dinner reservations at a local restaurant that evening and did not want to ruin my appetite. Once I ordered the fries, the counter worker said«let me see if we have any left » , any potatoes left? Humm? This was at noontime . She and another older women returned to the counter, and I basically had a stare down with the older woman. After, literally, 15 seconds, I opened my mouth by stating the above(dinner reservations). After my explanation, she agreed to make the fries. While waiting, I was asked(not to make small talk, but to confirm my story) where I was dining that evening by two employees. Once I received my fries, I was asked where I was going that evening by the older woman, who then handed me my fries. They were EXTREMELY salty. This is not just my opinion. I dare you to go in and order just the fries.

Our Shrimp and Shrimp/Oyster Po-Boys were fantastic! Not served on hard crusty bread like some places. The shrimp was not overly breaded so the flavors of the shrimp and seasoning could stand on their own. Next time, I’m going to add a little LA. Hot Sauce to mine for a good old cayenne«kick in the back» of my taste buds. Sweet service with a smile, too. :)

Really enjoyed our po boys. And the stuffed jalapeños. Lady was very nice and proud of her chef and food. A nice experience.

Buyer beware. Much of what is sold here is shipped in from who knows where. The grouper and snapper is local but pricier than other retailers in the area and it is not any better or fresher than other retail venues. What troubled me was the fishmonger trying to tell me that the salmon was from Florida. WHAT? The crab was the biggest turnoff. Was told it was also from Florida, and that is plausible BUT, I found out when I returned back to my RV that the crab was 1. from Indonesia 2. It was supposed to be crab claw meat — maybe 20% was claw meat, and 3. the crab meat had been pasteurized. NASTY. I would strongly recommend passing on shopping at Alby’s. I can recommend PJ’s where I have found some really fresh fish and local fresh shrimp with really very fair pricing.

Best food I’ve have in Rockport. Split a oyster and fish poorboy. Hot, fresh and very tasty.

On a recent family trip out to Rockport ~this tiny fish market became to biggest catch of day! —— Ok. I tried my hand at a joke and it came out kinda fishy. That was the last one: I promise! Large po boys with fresh shrimp, fried oysters, or the fish of the day — topped off with juicy, sliced tomatoes, and smothered in your choice of tarter cocktail sauce made a meal to die for! Thursday through Sunday the group that Alby’s Seafood came to greet loudly as. «AH! Hello there, Pringles» wondered in to wonder out with an arm full of po boys, french fries, and fresh oysters to enjoy later in the evenings ~~~ The(fried) oyster po boy got a thumbs up all around, the combo(shrimp and oysters) was a classic, but my favorite was the catfish po boy. All three days; however, we had to face disappointment on the side… No stuffed jalapenos or boudin balls! The nice lady behind the counter explained, on our third attempt of ordering these sides, that the cook responsibly for the delectable treats was off for that weekend. Four stars for 1. Not writing it on your dry-eraser menu that the sides were unavailable. 2. Waiting ’til the third order from the same people to finally explain.

oh my GADS. if you have not been. RUN don’t walk. The Shrimp Po boys are insanely good and I brought home some of the chefs specials: The shrimp scampi Ravioli and toasted it. WOW. I am having the Shrimp Salad for lunch. It is amazing. Yes it does smell– LIKE a freaking Fish Market. The Customer Service was Delightful and I visited with the Mom of the chef(really nice and the lady who works the front and they were both very helpful) The FOOD is AMAZING. Sorry the other reviewer had a hard time… MOREFORME and everyone I know that lives in Rockport and also part timers– We are all CRAZY about this place!

This place is gross, smells bad, and they hardly have any local catches. Added to that, customer service is terrible. Go elsewhere.
