For the last 3 years, the Missus and I have trekked up to Fulton, Mizzou to attend her university’s alumni weekend. I have been to Cornerstone Antiques on all 3 trips, so I feel it’s time for a review. CA is a pretty big place, with antiques spread over basement, ground-level and smaller upstairs areas. All of the antiques are«loosely» grouped by theme, but there is no signage anywhere telling you what each area contains. The book and dinnerware collections at CA are extensive… and I’d venture to guess that a person could easily spend 3 hours going through both collections. The ladies that run CA are delightful. They’ve been extremely courteous on all of my visits and will allow some haggling on their prices. However, the reason I can only give 2 stars is because I really have experienced better antique stores. Yes, there are some really cool pieces… but, most of the items in the store are junk. And yes I know one person’s junk is another person’s treasure… however, I don’t see a whole lot of value in a broken picture frame or a bent golf club.(Outside of some artistic use.) If you’re in Fulton,(Which I’m sure none of you ever will be.) CA is worth a look. You could find something really neat… it just might take a while.
