Stopped in for a cupcake at this bakery while visiting Fuquay-Varina. We got a banana cupcake and cookies & cream cupcake. If I remember correctly, there is either a $ 3 or $ 5 minimum to use a credit card. We didn’t eat these cupcakes until we got home a few hours later, but they do hold up well. My husband and I split each cupcake so that we could try the two flavors. I enjoyed the actual cake for the banana bread cupcake more. It definitely had a banana bread taste and didn’t taste artificial, which I appreciate. I wasn’t a fan of the icing on the banana cupcake. I believe it was buttercream but it was whipped and I was still getting a butter taste which wasn’t pleasant. I enjoyed the icing of the cookies & cream cupcake more. It had a better flavor and consistency, however it seemed like the banana cupcake had a far more generous portion of icing than the cookies & cream cupcake did. Other than that, they only other negative I could list was that there wasn’t a huge assortment of cupcakes to choose from when we stopped in. I’m not sure if they were out of a lot of flavors or if they generally don’t have a lot of different flavors to choose from.

Cute cupcake shop with decent cupcakes. I have visited CupCakeBite a few times now but unfortunately the cupcakes have never blown me away. On this most recent visit Mom and I picked up a few cupcakes for the Holidays. They had a few interesting flavors which included Egg Nog and Peppermint Hot Chocolate. We also picked out a few of the other flavors. Mom & I could not wait to split the Egg Nog and Cookies n Cream. The Egg Nog cupcake was dry and tough to cut through with a fork, I did not like the flavor of this cupcake. The Cookies n Cream cupcake had an amazing frosting but the cake was dry, if they could nail a moist cake then this cupcake would be bomb. I would return if I were around the area and my sweet tooth hit.

Don’t bother. Expensive cupcakes, cold coffee and worst of all bad customer service. Don’t expect a warm welcome or greeting of any kind. I have been in three separate times, hoping for a different out come. Ordering plain coffee with cream was apparently a chore for the gal behind the counter. Coffee is apparently brewed and then put into a thermal container. Coffee was room temp and then cold once I added cream… the cream resides in a nasty crusty container. I watched her refill the container without so much a wiping the mouth of the jug off. Leaving ages old soured cream to get in the coffee. I mentioned to the girl that the coffee was cold. no, and I mean no response. Also, they do not run debit cards for under 5.00 $.credit cards I understand but debit cards?. I just happened to be low on cash. Cupcakes are 2.75 each. Pricey and nothing special. Upon walking out, I took a swallow of the coffee and promptly threw it out. The girl behind the counter barely had an interest in speaking to me, and when she say me throw it away, she just stared. Disappointed all the way around.

I am going to guess they must do a good business of special orders. We are not allergic to Gluten so maybe if we were we may appreciate it more. For the price I was not overly impressed. Nothing bad just nothing memorable. $ 2 macarons were no better than cheaper versions from HT. Just AOK for me. But my 9 year old could not stop gushing about how cute the place was. Lol

We stopped by on a rainy day just wanting to get something sweet. We entered and it’s a very cute shop filled with different cupcakes. We looked over at the menu and decided to get the moon and pie, the cookies and cream and the not so red velvet. My thoughts on the moon pie were it had too much marshmallow filling(I love sweets but this was a bit too much). The cookies and cream was ok not yet my favorite. And the Not so red Velvet was a bit bland. Over all we liked the shop and will come back to try other flavors.

I purchased ½ dozen cupcakes for $ 15.50. It was ok. If you are GF be mindful of possible cross contamination. I ordered 2GF cupcakes which they put in a box with 4 other non GF cupcakes. Normally I would have said something but there is an insert that separates the cupcakes. I took a chance and was fine. The GF Mocha cupcake was amazing. I enjoyed it. It had the right consistency and flavorful. The other non GF cupcakes were«just ok» and half eaten by my kids… They weren’t that impressed. They had lemon, rocky road, coconut and cookies and cream of some sort. The store itself is nice and clean. Guns and roses playing in the background was cool… But not relaxing. I did walk out singing«welcome to the jungle». I guess I should’ve added an extra star for the walk back in music memory lane.

First cupcake I had was the Mint Mojito(flavor of the week) and it was amazing. Balanced flavored, not overly sweet and perfect balance of moist and airy cake. I’ve also tried from the ‘regulars’ the chocolate ganache(ok, chocolate cake is not my favorite), chocolate chip blondie(pretty good), strawberry and cream(yummy), coconut something(pretty plain, more just like vanilla with some coconut flakes on top), lemon custard(great and lemony), and last the cookies and cream(chocolate cake was again not for me but frosting was perfect. I made it in to a cupcake sandwich). I can understand getting bored with the ‘regulars’ but the flavors of the week are exciting to watch for and there is some variation depending on time and day of the week it seems. Overall it’s a cute local shop with standard service and some pretty great cupcakes!

I bought a coconut cream, strawberries & cream, and a simple vanilla all of them were dry. I love cupcakes but, these did not fit the bill. I probably won’t be back since I don’t go to Fuquay often.

Yummy gluten free cupcake with original flavors. Would have liked a bit more icing but only because I am an icing nut. It was perfect for my cupcake craving. Gluten free only on Tuesday and Saturday and it’s worth the stop.

BEST cupcakes around. I travel all the time for business and always find local cupcake shops. This is the best cupcake shop I’ve been to. The Strawberries and Cream and Lemon Meringue are the best.

Went here a few weeks ago for the first time and really enjoyed their Not So Red Velvet cupcake! It was delicious! Also tried a Blondie. Who knew gluten-free could taste so good? The atmosphere was so sweet as well. Love the pink and green. The staff was not really lively at all and didn’t really seem all that thrilled to be at work. We went later in the day and the selection was kinda sparse, however, I really did love their cupcakes.

Went for a French macaroon, got 2 and 2 cupcakes. Less than impressed. Macaroons were horribly hard and oily tasting. Guess I should have known better. Beautiful though. The not so red velvet cupcake was decent and the banana one was not even that good. I thought maybe they were day old, but the quantity on the floor was so scarce it couldn’t have been that. I love a good cupcake, but I won’t go back. The atmosphere have me promise, but as a whole this place is a huge miss.

I have yet to have a cupcake I did not like here. I usually come in to get the cupcake of the week and a few of my other favorites like the Blondie, Not So Red Velvet, Lemon Merengue and Strawberries and Cream. There is no bad choice from my perspective. The staff is very friendly.

After my husband and I had a fancy dinner date downtown, we decided to see if we could finally stop in for a cupcake. After several unsuccessful tries, we finally struck it lucky. It was about 20 min to close and the selection was limited to three different types, but I wasn’t expecting them to have rolled out a full menu with 20 min to left in their day. I really wanted to try the not so red velvet that everyone raves about, and it was one of the flavors available, so I was psyched and not overly concerned about the lack of selection. Red velvet is my litmus test– if they can do that well, I’ll probably be more excited to try other exotic flavors. It did not disappoint. The cake was fabulously moist with a non-synthetic taste(I’ve had a few from fancy bakeries that have tasted this way) and the cream cheese frosting is to die for. I really wish I had picked up more than one. The customer service was great– we made a comment about how we seem to always come when they were closed(mostly due to our work/school schedules) and that we were excited to finally be able to stop in. She smiled and made small talk; we didn’t want to stay in and eat so close to the end of the day, so we took our cupcakes home. It’s probably a good thing for us because I would have tried more. I found the price to be more than reasonable, especially compared to what I’ve paid in other shops in NC. I can’t wait to go back.

Beyond adorable ambiance but the customer service is a hit or miss. Sometimes they are super sweet other times I have not even been greeted with a simple«hello» just a cashier staring waiting for me to order. I use to enjoy their cupcakes but lately that as well has been a hit or miss. The frosting appears to be loaded with butter and cupcakes are lacking flavor. I plan to venture a little further out to Apex(Sweet Cheeks Bakery) a drive but at least I know the deliciousness is consistent!

I wanted to love the CupCakeBite, but I just wasn’t a fan of the cupcake. The Good: * The atmosphere is adorable. I love girly cupcake bakery. It was overly cute in whites, pinks, and greens. The set up was just lovely and the counter display was nice. * They offer CUPCAKESUNDAES. Yes – you heard me. For a mere $ 4.25(less than any sundae at any ice cream shop I’ve seen), you get a scoop of ice cream(chocolate, vanilla, strawberry, or cookies n cream) and two toppings on top of a cupcake! It sounds heavenly – combining two of my favorite foods. And I haven’t seen it done elsewhere. Plus, like the rest of the place, the stand to have that done was also adorable. Unfortunately, my arteries and my waistline don’t need both cupcakes and ice cream, so I ordered a cupcake. The Bad: * The cupcake was one of the worst I’ve had… and I like cupcakes so I have sampled a lot. I opted for the flavor of the week — rainbow sherbert. It was supposed to be orange/lemon cake with lime-flavored frosting. Unfortunately, I just tasted plain cake – maybe a hint of flavor, but no where near the vibrant flavors of the national chains(think Sprinkles, Crumbs, even GiGi’s) nor many other Triangle bakeries and cupcake carts. Also, the cake part was very, very, very dense and somewhat dry. I wasn’t able to finish it because it was so heavy.

I had to update my review for The CupCakeBite. While writing my last review, I was disappointed with the«consultation» I received when I went in to order cupcakes for my son’s 1st birthday party. I left feeling nervous that my order would not be accurate or finished on time, so I ended up canceling it. In retrospect, I still feel like I made the right choice, so I could have peace of mind heading into a milestone birthday celebration. With that said, I have been back and am still blown away by the quality of these cupcakes. There are other cupcake shops in the triangle, some brand new and very popular, but I admit, whenever I buy somewhere else I am let down a bit. It’s not that the others are bad, but they just do not measure up to CupCakeBite. I don’t know what her secret(s) is, but they are always so moist and full of flavor. Although the standards(chocolate, vanilla) are available, the unique variety gets me every time… Blondie with Brown Sugar icing… Orange Creamsicle… Not So Red Velvet(my fav)…Elvis(Banana with Chocolate Ganache and peanut butter). Sometimes I wish I had a pile of extra money, so I could invest in plopping a 2nd location in a busier part of the triangle and really upping the marketing and events calendar.

When I drove by here a few weeks ago and realized they put in a cupcake shop just a few miiles from home I may or may not have screamed in excitement. I finally stopped by this weekend, and my overly excited scream was worthy. The shop itself is very simple and sweet, just like their cupcakes. I had the blondie, which is basically a fluffy chocolate chip cookie with brown sugar icing. If you have a sweet tooth, it was made for you. I also tried the zucchini bread with cream cheese icing, perfectly moist and great flavor. Now, how can I stop myself from returning every weekend? ;)

Ok, now that this place has been spammed I feel I need to write my review, which is based on two visits in the same week(I am a sucker for sweets). Atmosphere — Girly, cute, glossy white, mint green, clean, open, 1920’s Food — Let’s see, I had two cupcakes from each visit and I tried two different types each time. So here is how I break it on down at cupcakeville(ah, SNL): * Triple Chocolate — It was moist, and um, chocolate-y. It had more of a dark chocolate to slight bitter taste than a milk or semi-sweet chocolate taste. Rating — Good, w/Milk * Blondie — Basically, a chocolate chip cookie dough taste in cake form. I liked it, especially as the center was a little wet which gave it that raw cookie dough texture. Who does not like raw cookie dough? The icing was very sweet and more firm than silky like on the other cupcakes. Rating — Good *(Not so Red) Red Velvet — Was my favorite of the bunch. The cake was not red, but a light chocolate color and the icing was sweet, delicious, and had a slight vanilla taste. Rating — Great * Sweet Vanilla — This was a perfect cupcake w/flecks of vanilla bean appearing in the moist cake. The icing was a sweet, I believe, butter cream that perfectly complemented the cake below. Rating — Great Service — It was friendly, but not overly so. I was thankful that the cashier never complained about me using a credit card for the cupcake purchases(those Bank fees can kill your profit margin on small transactions). Price — $ 2.50 is not a bad price for a cupcake at a fancy cupcake Shoppe. I am not sure why people are complaining about the price. Places like these are all about the experience. Normally, I have seen these types of places charge $ 3.50 and higher(see my other reviews) for their cupcakes. If your goal is to eat a dozen cupcakes in one sitting head to WalMart. Overall — I had a decent experience. If I had daughters, I am sure they would love this place. For me, every once in a while is just fine.
