The Best hobby shop in the area, Mike the owner is very friendly and knowledgeable also can repair most anything, I’m starting to think this guy built the rover that is currently cruising around on Mars. If you are looking to start a new hobby or just want to go see come cool r/c stuff this is the place to start hands down!

Had a great experience here buying some Wheels and Tires for my Team Associated RC Truck. Mike is a super knowledgable and friendly guy that goes the extra mile to make sure his customers are satisfied. Even though there was a problem with my initial parts order and what we had ordered wasnt right for my truck, the shop went out of their way to make sure to get the parts I needed for my with no questions asked. They partially help run the Cape Fear RC Track as well so make sure to let them know you will support it if it gets opened back up again! Bottom line is they are very knowledgable about RC, have a fantastic selection and if they dont have what you need they can surely get it for you.

I took my son’s RC car here to get fixed, and they replaced the part that was broken. It cost more than they had quoted, but I think they put in better parts than what was there. The owner seems very knowledgeable about RC cars.

In my fascination with hobby and toy shops, and determination to visit as many as possible in the area, I stumbled across Toytown. This shop was a little different than most, in that I saw no board games, no video games, nothing of that sort. Toytown appears to be exclusively a haven for those who build model planes, cars, boats, trains, or who collect die cast cars, boats, planes, etc. and for those who like to race any of the above. Toytown also sets up a road track on Friday nights so those who like to show what their model car can do can meet others similarly inclined. Part model shop, part toy store, Toytown also had some miscellaneous jigsaw puzzles, glow-in-the dark planet mobiles, and sundry other items. As a locally owned store, Toytown has a real community feel to it, and is worth visiting if you’re in the area.
