VetsFixIt was contacted in July to correct a laundry list of items on a former rental house. The estimate was received on 7÷19÷15 with a completion time of 10 days post receipt of deposit. The deposit was received on 2 Aug. The work was NOT completed in 10 days; instead it was not«completed» until October. On a couple of occasions I had to send an email asking for a status update as work was consistently not done when they said it would be. I went to the house after I received an email that everything was complete. I was unable to get into the house as the crew had CHANGEDTHECODE on the realtor’s lockbox — no joke. When I finally did get in, it was only to find things like blinds screwed directly to the window sill through the top mechanism rather than via brackets; my floor vents covered in floor stain and shellac; the front door painted… right around the wreath hanger and lockbox; NO filters in the air vents(floor sanding was going on… and it was on the work order to put in filters); issues with paint; floor stain on window frames; the wood floor looked terrible. I met with the Foreman and he assured me things would be corrected ASAP. I went down again, a couple weeks later, over Labor Day weekend, thankfully the day before a showing. First of all, when I got to the house only the back door had a realtor’s lockbox on it with a key inside… that they didn’t bother to close up… so ANYONE could have gone in and out of the house if they had wanted. The workers had been in there working on the ceiling and the wood floor and didn’t bother to clean a thing up. There was dust/debris/stuff everywhere and coating everything; the ½ bath they were using was absolutely FILTHY; there was varnish from the wood floor repair on walls, the tile floor, and all over the baseboards; screws/nails/razor blade left down in the vents; the registers were AGAIN painted over despite me spray painting and moving them the previous visit; and on and on and on. After that incident I very specifically told the owner of VetsFixIt that I did NOT want anyone in there working while the house was on the market — I did not trust that they would clean up after themselves(as they had previously demonstrated). Despite that, the owner decided to go in anyhow and do more work(obviously he was let in, which is a different issue). I’m still not happy with the quality of all of the work but I’m so tired of dealing with them — and the fact that I feel they have ZERO respect for us and our property — that I just paid the remainder and moved on. Very simple things were never done — like putting air filters in the A/C units, properly putting switch plates back on, fixing a shower door runner(which they used a broken piece of blind hardware to «fix») — and it took SIGNIFICANTLY longer than was promised to get done which ended up costing me more by being off the market longer and during the peak season.
