J. Crew has some decent selection of modern wear that you can either wear to the office or wear casual. This is more what I’m trying to work my style these days! In this store men’s section is on the left women’s on the right. The store here at Gaffney is not grotesquely large but not small either. I would position J. Crew in similar category that Banana Republic falls into but J. Crew tends to have more sweaters and plaid shirts that Banana republic lacks. Also I find their men’s section to be a bit more interesting than Banana Republic Outlet stores these days. On my visit here I had my eye on a few different plaid shirts(they were 40% off good deal). I really wanted to score and snatch one of their wrinkle free more dressy shirts but the styles were not catching my eyes. Selection and quality is high at J. Crew. These outlets are hit or miss and it was miss for me this time!

This is a review strictly based off of the customer service I received for a phone order. My local store located a dress I wanted at the Gaffney store, and my transaction was completed over the phone. I had some difficulty receiving the item, which resulted in additional calls to the store. Cindy, the manager, was courteous and professional, and I could not have had a better experience in dealing with her and her staff. They should certainly be commended.

So as far as outlets go, this store scores a hat trick for clean and clear layout, quality selection of seasonal garments, and great deals compared to the full retail experience. First impressions upon a walk-in: the store is clean, uncluttered and what is there looks just like the retail store. I really dislike outlets that go for the«Marshalls» effect by stuffing as much as possible on every inch of rack space. Luckily J Crew abstains to great effect. The clothing is racked and displayed such that you never feel closed in or that you need to go «bin surfing» to hope you can find a size or color. It’s all quite attractive and welcoming– score one for the merchandising guys. On my handful of visits in, clothing options were always primarily«looking forward» to the next season. For example: shorts out in February and a distinct lack of sweaters or outerwear. Sure this means the total number of options will be more limited, but J Crew has always had a knack for focusing on quality rather than quantity and it’s nice to see that in a factory store too. I also thought the deals were quite strong too. While the MSRP rivals normal retail or catalog prices, my weekend visit not only featured specific sales that were strong all by themselves, but the staff also handed out coupons for an additional 20% off. 50−60% off total? Yes, please! Staff will be helpful if asked, but otherwise remain pretty hands-off. That’s okay with me. They will pull a size if you are in the dressing room, but other store traffic can overwhelm them at times. All I spoke with have been friendly here. In all, this store alone is a reason I will travel to this mall and it is always a must-stop. When passing through town, it’s worth a stop in.
