We’ve been using H&R Block for many years. Yes, it’s pricey, but it’s convenient. For our 2013 taxes, we had Sandra Woods do them, as we’ve had her do them previously. For a federal 1040A, state, and city tax return, we were charged $ 166. However, and this is HUGE, Sandra informed us that there was a $ 20 fee for live checks to be mailed to our home, and that it had bee in affect for many years. ANDSO, FORWHOKNOWSHOWMANYYEARS, WE’D BEENPAYING $ 20TOHAVE A CHECKMAILEDTOUS! Never once was that communicated to us. NEVER. I can remember asking for details about their arbitration agreements, as I like to understand what I’m signing, but I am absolutely positive that the $ 20 fee was never disclosed. If it had been, we certainly wouldn’t have been stupid enough to tell them«Sure, go ahead and mail the live check. It seems perfectly reasonable to pay $ 20 for it!» Just unbelievable.
