I met Mike G. here for lunch a few weeks ago to check out this new-to-us eatery. Back in the days I ate red meat, my go to Mexican dish was the chimichanga. I have seen shrimp chimi’s on rare occasions, one of them being here, but this time I zero’d in on the Veggie Chimichanga on their menu and it was very, very good. This is my dish. It is a nice size, and is served with rice, beans, and salad. It is filling, but not overly so. Our server was very nice and we had a great lunch. I see a repeat visit in our future.

I wanted to give this place a good review, but this is now the second time I’ve gone and the service SUCKED. Get waitstaff that can at least remember to come back and get your order or remember you’re in their section. At one point I just gave up and said to the person who wasn’t our waitress to just take over. Food is good, but after the second time like this, make some changes PLEASE.

Amazing food. Great staff. Friendly, personable owner. House margaritas are a winner. Check them out when the weather is warm… they have a nice patio with live music some evenings. Overall a super place to eat.

Tha food was great! I ordered tha steak fajitas and my girl ordered a chicken super burrito an both were on point. The vegetables were fresh and tha food was cooked properly. My meal was big enough to feed 2 and it only cost $ 12 so it was definitely worth it. The steak fajitas come out in a hot pan as my plate and it was still frying with grease. My girl ordered a house margarita that she said was like sex in tha mouth. Then for dessert we ordered the chocolate brownie with ice cream and it had hot caramel all around it. I would definitely recommend going here and plan on going back soon. The only problem we had is that my girl asked not to have rice in her burrito only on tha side and it was on it, but when she asked them to fix it they made it again for her and she was very happy. Five stars.

I visited this place tonight, picked up my to go order 10 mins before closing time, & I was pleasantly surprised by the friendliness of the staff given that they were all trying to close. The food is amazing and staff is very, very nice.

The food is good. If I could change anything it would be for them not to use ground beef in items, that is not very authentic. The other change I would make would be to get fresh made corn tortillas. That would be the bomb. The refined beans and rice have always been delicous. The Steak Diablo.yum. Tacos De Carne Asada.yum. Tacos De Barbacoa… yum. They do have a gluten free menu, for those that need it. One of the best things about this place is the owner. Alex goes out of his way to make customers feel welcome. He visited the tables to check and make sure you are pleased with your meal. He is also a huge supporter of the local schools and community. Mi Tradicion is an asset to the west side of Gahanna.

I really enjoyed the food and atmsophere here. The chips were good but the salsa did not have a lot of flavor but that is not that big of a deal for me. Everyone at the table got different platters and there were positive reviews all the way around. I got the Especial dinner which had a little sampling of everything which was great. Some of the options like the taco and chalupa were a little bland but everything else was perfect. Overall, I enjoyed the experience and I will definitely be back.

Awesome food & margaritas. I had the Steak de la Diablo; it is served with Mexican rice & beans. The chips are good, but the salsa isn’t my favorite. The salsa is good, but not great. Now the margaritas on the other hand should be studied, recorded and mimicked. To say the margaritas are great is a disservice. These things should come with a warning label & skinny people should avoid them. I lift weights & I hope someday to be as strong as their margaritas. I would recommend this place to anyone that likes Mexican food.

So, I can be picky with my Mexican food. Sure, I’ll do the chain varieties when the urge strikes… but I really crave the more authentic stuff. One warm night, we wandered over here for dinner. We’d been meaning to but never quite got there. I always thought the place was tiny inside. Well, it’s not huge but they seem to pack a lot of people into a small, cozy space. A drawback of this arrangement is that there isn’t a great place to wait for a table. You’re constantly in the way of either the staff or someone coming in/out. The food is worth the wait and weird waiting area. I opted for the mole poblano. I have a long-standing love affair with mole poblano. It can be a finicky dish, I’ve had really good ones and really bad ones. Mi Tradicion makes a really good mole poblano. The right amount of heat and flavor. The boy had beef and chorizo tacos. Now, chorizo can be sort of spicy. The chorizo here is «blow your socks off» spicy(or was that night) and it was damn good. The service was great and the margaritas were strong and tasty. This place hits all the right notes for me. I can’t wait until we go back.

Good mexican food in Gahanna. Close to downtown and the airport. Place has character. Its a hole in the wall but with comfortable seats and attentive staff. I enjoyed the complimentary chips and salsa. The extensive menu was nicely put together. I got a side of queso, refried beans and a lime margarita all good. My main course was the shrimp enchilada dinner which was also great. Three enchiladas. Queso was drizzled over both the beans and the enchiladas. The main dish came with rice but not beans. Delicious rice by the way. The portions were generous plus after eating all the chips I was able to have enough leftovers for lunch the next day. My friend got the fajitas and that portion was about double what I am used to at other places. I look forward to trying the carnitas and choriqueso next time, oh and chimichangas.

Looking through Unilocal for an alternative from the big burrito chains for a fast pre-Krogering lunch in my neighborhood got me in the doors here today. Grabbed a booth while enjoying complimentary chips and salsa and took a little time to peruse their lunch menu with a nice selection of meals priced under $ 10 or much less for the most part. Deciding on the Chile Verde Burrito, my order was delivered to my table fast, fresh and hot. A flour tortilla stuffed with big chunks of juicy spiced pork and covered with the greenest of green chile sauces. Paired up with some very tasty refried beans and wonderfully fluffy rice it made it one very filling, affordable lunch. For a first visit this place hit me in all the right places, from friendly fast service in a comfortable clean dining room to drinks served in big glass mugs and tasty affordable Tex-Mex eats, yeah, I’ll be back here soon to try more from their lunch and dinner menus. ‘Cus who needs the Big«C» when there’s great places like this in town…

Wow! We are here passing through based on Unilocal reviews. It did not disappoint. The wait staff and management are very friendly and helpful! We had the lunch chicken fajitas and the Enchilada Tuluca. The lunch portions are huge. Refried beans were legit. Chips and salsa was great too. If we lived here, this would be our regular choice!

I… don’t see what the fuss is about. Maybe they had an off day, but I thought this was nothing special. 2 stars for food because it was truly«Meh, I’ve had better;» 4 stars for very good service. So we’ll average out to three, though I want to give them 2 since I was so let down by the food. But I really want to like the place, and enjoyed the service. They were busy when I came in, midafternoon and midweek, and clearly understaffed. But the waitress was on top of things, and I didn’t wait long for anything. My Pepsi was served in a massive mug, almost too big to be practical. The chips? Meh. The salsa? Thick, but bland. I added LOTS of hot sauce and still thought it was mild. The menu was pretty typical, and there was nothing that stood out. When the house special is two burritos, I wonder how hard they’re trying. I ordered the chile Colorado. The pork was super tender. And that’s about all I can say about it. The sauce was bland. The rice was okay, but nothing special. The beans were bland even for refried beans. Yes, it’s Tex-Mex(ish.) So expectations are low. But the food did not even meet my reduced expectations. I was very disappointed. I had been here once before when it was another place, and remember the food as being a little better. It’s been redecorated and is much nicer now. Prices are good. Portions are good. I left full but not satisfied, and left some on my plate mainly because it did not taste good enough to bother with. Not that it was awful, or off tasting– just completely meh.

Yep, the bomb. $ 1.99 Margaritas during lunch and good size lunch portions. They have lunch shrimp fajitas that most spots don’t offer. Great service and fabulous margaritas. Better price and taste than El Vaquero. Will come back fo’sho!

Mi Tradicion has become my go-to Mexican(ish) spot! I absolutely love and crave it. Here’s what I’m lovin’: **FOOD** Yes, it’s American-Mexican, but admit it: you crave it too. And it’s definitely way more delicious(and authentic!) than most spots around the city. Everything is very fresh, very hot, and very flavorful. They have the best carnitas in the city! They’re big, juicy on the inside, and crispy on the outside. I have never had anything bad here. Oh, and their margaritas are tasty, cheap, and most important – strong. **SERVICE** The service here is outstanding. The people working here achieve the service trifecta: helpful, nice, and efficient. **INTERIOR** It big, bold, and clean – just what I’m looking for. I love how open it is and how many large tables they have. I’ve never had trouble coming here with a medium-sized group of friends. So yeah… a random strip mall in Gahanna wins my heart(and stomach). Even though there are Mexican joints closer to my house, Mi Tradicion is well worth the drive!

My buddy and I were trying to check out this pizza place on Stygler, but to our surprise, the pizza joint had closed, so we didn’t really have a back up plan. Well, he didn’t, but I did, since Mi Tradicion was right there across the parking lot, and I had heard a lot of good things about this place. We went in there and were seated right away. Our server was super nice, and it looked like she was the only one working the place, yet she somehow managed to frequently refill our drinks and chips and salsa. Go her. I ordered the steak and chorizo tacos, and my friend ordered the super burrito. Apparently, they must have been short staffed in the kitchen as well, because our meal took close to 25 minutes to get brought out. I think we were able to go through 3 – 4 baskets of chips before we had to stop and make sure we had room to eat, and then we still waited another 5 – 10 minutes. Usually I’m not a big complainer about something like that, but it’s lunch time, and I have to get back to work, so I’m hoping for a pretty quick meal. Anyway, the food itself was awesome. The steak and chorizo were super flavorful and tender, and the pico that went with it was great. I also covered the tacos with their hot salsa, which is AWESOME and pretty damn hot, so be careful. I’m a big fan of hot sauce and poured a lot of it on there, and my lips were burning as I left the place. My buddy thought the super burrito was great too and that their chicken was really good. It looked like it had some nice seasoning on it. I think we’ll definitely try this place again, but unless we have more time, I’ll probably get take out. If you’re in the Gahanna area, you shouldn’t pass up on this place, because it’s much better than your average Tex-Mex restaurant.

My rule of thumb for Mexican food is that, if I’m going to a sit-down restaurant with waiter service, I don’t expect authenticity; most sit-down places I encountered in Mexico were for tourists, and the locals ate at smaller, more casual places with counter service and limited(if any) seating. For a sit-down restaurant in America, though, this is pretty fab. My friend Keith M. ordered a ridiculously-delicious-looking concoction of a. burrito? enchilada? filled with chicken, topped with queso, and further topped with chorizo. Oh em gee. Bryant M. had what were the best-looking carnitas in all of Columbus – so much so that I was a bad vegetarian and had a nibble. They were really juicy, not all dried out like many places serve(because you can’t cook carnitas in water-based liquid. it dries it out, like a lot). I had a chile relleno combo(they had a few vegetarian combos to choose from), and it was pretty aight. Good rice and beans. Our server was really cool, too. She took pains to keep everyone’s order straight(we were a party of five), and any mistakes were fixed very quickly. Definitely going back! I have to take my husband for the carnitas.
