The DogSpaw Pet Grooming

We took our Australian Shepherd here for a bath and a deshedding after having a horrible experience at PetSmart. I was really nervous based on our past poor experience but they were very reassuring and our dog ended up having absolutely no issues. It took a few hours — about the same as other grooming places we’ve tried — but he came out smelling wonderfully and he looked great! But the best part was that their deshedding process was absolutely amazing (and didn’t involve cutting his hair) and he was no longer shedding all over the place. Pricing was more than your typical chain place but well worth it for the service level provided. They also have coupons available on their website and will remind you at drop-​off to print one out and bring it with you at pick-​up. This will definitely be our go-​to groomer in the future.

Just got my Goldendoodle groomed here for the first time. They did a great job! The staff was friendly and very patient with Lily, who has lots of energy.

This place is AMAZING! I’ve had some really bad experiences with dog groomers, but when I came in to The DogSpaw I was so impressed. Ashley took amazing care of my little nervous Cocker Spaniel. He loves her! He always comes back happy and in good spirits, they even do the grooming where the owners can see if they want to. All the ladies and gentlemen in this place are friendly and informative.
I usually request Ashley to groom my dog just because of the great relationship they seem to have. He took to her right away! She’s super fast too, and does a great job! Best hair cut he’s had in years, and it’s consistently brilliant! I drive over half an hour to take Charlie here. There are local places, but The DogSpaw is worth the drive.

Had a great grooming experience at the Dog Spaw. They were able to get us scheduled in a timely manner and were very courteous during drop-​off and pick-​up. My dog came back very well groomed, and most importantly was very happy! Will definitely be making the drive from downtown to have my dog groomed here. (just not during rush hour — that sucked).

I took my little one here for the first time recently. I think they are friendly, informative and did a great job grooming my dog. I know he’s s bit of s handful but the cut was good, claws nicely trimmed. Overall I think it was a good experience.

Wellllll the groomer asked me if I wanted my dog «cut» down he was really shaggy at the time. When I picked him up she literally shaved him down like a sphinx cat… and he is a Yorkie-​poo and its winter time. I’m not sure why or what went through her mind when doing this… he looked so different not even the same dog. it was horrible. When I asked the girl when I picked him up where the groomer was she just so happened to be right there and wouldn’t even turn around so it was almost like she knew what she did. Also, they sent me a survey after the appointment. I wrote a review similar to this, supposed to show up on their website but NOPE they don’t post the bad reviews – only the 5 star ones. Had they responded back with concern Id probably go back but since I was not even followed up with I will not return here and I tell my story to all dog owners in the area :)
**** Per the response below: HE IS actually groomed every 8 weeks. His hair wasn’t matted it was just long — heck charge me extra for a extra 10min to brush him!!! And I suggest before you guys do what’s in best interest for my dog you CONTACT ME FIRST. Nope didn’t hear anything from you guys even when I picked him up It went like this here’s your dog back that’s $ 50. NOT WHAT YOU COMMENTED BELOW. His best interest in the WINTER time for a 6.5 pound dog was not to be shaved down.

They did a great job grooming my two small dogs who are not easy to handle. The staff is very friendly and efficient. The price was pretty standard for dog grooming, plus I got a discount because it was my first time there.

I’ve taken my rescue pup here a few times now. Let me first say, my dog has serious trust issues. She’s highly selective as to whom she will allow hold, pet, feed, her. I can say with conviction, my dog loves this place. She doesn’t come home a stressed out maniac and she always looks and smells fabulous when I pick her up. I would highly recommend this place.
Tip: They are a little pricey but they always have coupons or promotions on their website or their facebook page.

I was looking for a new groomer and found this place thru an internet search and saw a lot of good reviews. I jumped on their website and discovered I could book online, got a first timer discount for both of my dogs, and that they had plenty of availability. I then made a phone call to them to get more info and discovered that they groom the dogs in about three to four hour time blocks. so basically the dogs are not stuck in a cage all day long. So I went ahead and booked them and sure enough the day of the grooming they were done in about 3 hours and 45 minutes. PERFECT! I have old dogs and it’s important to me that they are comfortable and not stuck in a cage all day. The price was also a right and they did a very good job. I did the drop off and my husband did the pick up and we both felt they were very concerned with providing a great service in a timely fashion. They also have numerous groomers and have weekend appointments. They even called after our visit to see if we were happy or not! The one thing I did notice is something that someone else on Unilocal remarked about-​they did not ask for or demand vaccination records. I know that my dogs are 100 percent vaccinated so I was not worried but that can be dangerous for dogs that are not. So maybe they’ll see these reviews and start demanding that? Otherwise everything was awesome and I am very happy to have found a new groomer.

Great place! I was home over the holidays and my dog desperately needed grooming. Found this place via Unilocal.I was able to make a next day appointment and they were done under 4 hours. I have a mutt that has hair like a collie and they did a great job with him. They did a quick consultation to make sure that we were on the same page in terms of how much to cut and where. The price is as expected for these kinds of services. I was able to use the first time discount which made it even better :)

I Just took my dog here today for the third time. They are great with her and do a wonderful job. I can tell that they’re animal lovers. Mackenzie is 100 pounds and very hairy. They always make her look beautiful and I know she’s more comfortable when we leave. Their shop is nice and open so that you can see what they’ve got going on. They also cater to me by calling me twenty minutes before she’s done that way she doesn’t have to wait in a kennel. Their prices are very fair and it’s a very clean environment. They have a nice selection of treats and toys as well. I will continue to bring her to the DogSpaw as long as we’re in this neighborhood.
*they have also been great at fitting me into the schedule whenever I need a last minute appointment.

I take my YorkiePoo and Sheba Inu here to be groomed and they always look great. Highly recommend the Best in Show package!

I have 3 dogs. Grooming can get pretty expensive as well as a challenge. The people at The DogSpaw are absolutely fantastic! They were able to get me in that same day, (I was desperate as two of my pups rolled in poo). When I arrived I was greeted by the nicest bunch of people I have come across in a while. They did a full assessment on all 3 of my pups and even asked if they could have treats. (This pleased me as they are on a grain free diet.) We went over every little detail, as I can be a little over bearing, and they did it with ease and kindness. They called promptly 3 hours after my drop off and when I arrived they not only looked and smelled great, they looked like they had a great time. I was so happy that they treated my pups like their own. Once they went over how they did, they even offered to help me take them out to my car. Anyone who has a lot of animals can understand how much I appreciated that! Once they were loaded in the car I came back in to pay and noticed how lovely their merchandise area is. They offer a ton of variety and they were very reasonably priced. I was so pleased with my visit that I even bought each pup their own toy. I will definitely be back!

I took my dog to the DogSpaw for the first time today. I dropped him off at 1:00P and they were done around 3:30. He looked and smelled amazing. They give you 20% off your first visit, so I paid $ 36, compared to $ 70 when I used The DogFather, and that didn’t even include a bandana!
So why not 5 stars? When I called to make the appt, I warned them that my pup would need muzzled while he got his nails done. The lady who made my appt said they try it without a muzzle first. When I picked him up, she seemed a bit relieved I was there to get him. I asked if everything went okay and she said «He gets a bit grouchy when we get near his feet…» and she seemed a smidge annoyed. I apologized, but reminded her that I did warn them.
Other than that, I did enjoy the place and hope to return in the future.

we asked for about half the hair off our poodle. I said he didn’t need too much since he had been groomed less than 6 weeks prior. I wish I would have been the one to pick him up because I would have asked to talk to the groomer. He was shaved almost down to his pink skin. He looked so bad that my husband didn’t even know it was him. On top of that his hair was uneven in several spots and not cut how I asked on his head. I had to trim a few long pieces that were left. I will probably have to have it recut as soon as it grows just a little so it looks even as it grows out. The lady working there was nice enough but will not be ever going back again

Long overdue review for the DogSpaw!
I was so glad to see this place open up last spring… prior to this, there wasn’t much (aside from Petsmart) in the area for dog grooming. It’s in the same complex as W.G. Grinders and the OSU rehab center, so there’s plenty of parking available.
Since they opened this spring, I’ve been visiting the DogSpaw every few months (basically, whenever my mixed-​breed dog’s shedding and nails get out of control). My dog is short-​haired, so he doesn’t really require anything complicated, but I did appreciate when the groomer pointed out allergy-​related rashes on my dog and recommended some different shampoos to try to minimize it. When everything’s said and done, he always comes out happy and smelling great. (as do everyone else’s dogs!)
Every groomer and bather I’ve talked to is friendly and seems to really like working with the animals — something you’d think would be a given in this line of work, but you’d be surprised! Most of my visits have been on Saturdays, and I’d definitely recommend setting up an appointment if you want to come in on Friday or Saturday… I’m guessing it’s probably easier to get in last-​minute during the week.
