My end goal is to dye my hair purple, and I went to Artistic Cuts to bleach my hair. I asked for an ombré balayage and underwent a double process. After MANY foils, I finished in four hours. The ladies are nice, and I can’t complain too much because of the price, but I had mixed feelings about the result. I just wish there was more communication. I don’t spend more than $ 30 on my hair often, so when I do, I am a bit of a perfectionist. It’s the cheapest place in town, especially if you have black hair and you’re looking to bleach it. I called in to, and Sue said it would be $ 90 total. Every other place in town would have charged me $ 60 – 75 for EACH process, quite possibly more considering that my hair is thick and layered. I booked an appointment and it started on time. I always corresponded with Sue but I ended up being taken care of by the other stylist(didn’t catch her name) because Sue was in the middle of a haircut. To the best of my knowledge, there are only two stylists at the salon. The process went about fine, and my stylist was very nice. As for the result, I found it to be a little uneven. My right side seemed warmer than the left. A little section in the back at the top was missing as well. I did get the streaky/skunky effect I wanted in the end, and it was going to be covered with dark purple anyway. There were little moments that made me uneasy. Sue came over twice in between her appointments, and they would mumble in Vietnamese. Sue seemed to be critiquing, and I would hear her say«no, no, no.» I couldn’t tell if anything was wrong and was too nervous to find out. They used a purple shampoo to counteract the brassiness in my hair. I asked if I needed to tone more at home, but they said that the shampoo was enough. I’m pretty sure they were wrong about that, and I should’ve continued using a purple shampoo or just used a toner. My hair turned brassy, and I had to tone it before dying my hair purple. My stylist curled it without me asking for it, so I thought it would be complimentary. I even objected it, but she insisted(and it looked REALLY good curled). But when Sue rang me up, I was charged for it. Sue does all the pricing it seems, so be conscious of that if you don’t want any additional charges. Overall, an okay experience. I just wonder what would’ve happened if Sue had done my hair instead.

I highly recommend to ask Sue for your hair cut. If you come a see her a lot, she will remember what to do with your hair. I love my hair getting done here!

I just went there today and got a haircut. I actually didn’t have to wait that long even though I had just walk in. I think it’s great with the price I spent only $ 25 including tip! Love it! Can’t wait to get my hair cut again.

Do not go here. I made an appointment specifically with Sue to get highlights and a cut. After telling her what I wanted and that I had work at 4, she gave me the time of 1:30 so I assumed that meant those things could be done in that amount of time. When I arrived on time, I had to sit and wait for NOT sue but another lady who doesn’t start on my hair until 2. After all the dye gets put in, I am left sitting, they work on two other people while I’m watching the minutes considering it’s past 3 and I know I am going to be late for work. Mind you the bleach has already been on the first strands of my hair for over an hour. I finally get washed and blow dried at 3:30 and have to make an appointment for Monday to get the haircut. The highlights were $ 75 and looked streaky and obviously left in for too long. Imagine streaks like an xmen character or frankenstein’s wife. I made the mistake of thinking I would actually get Sue for the haircut on a slower Monday but no I get the same lady again because Sue was busy. I start by asking if there’s any way she can make the highlights look more natural with the slight hope she’d fix them free of charge but idk if it was due to a language barrier but she ignored everything I said and asked«so just a trim?» So I gave up on that. The layers were decent. They weren’t really clean, it seemed as if she made every strand of hair a different length as now I can tell I will have a much bigger frizz problem, if you can kind of visualize that. Then the point of no return. Where I had to hold back tears. I asked for my bangs to be trimmed to the length of my cheekbones. I specifically pointed to the length on my face. And then she gave me 2 in of hair in front of my forehead… and mind you my hair is not meant for that especially in the Florida heat. They will curl and look ridiculous as if they didn’t already when they were straight. That was $ 20. I spent over $ 100 with tip to end up looking like I did this in my own bathroom and messed up horribly. Went straight to cvs and bought a box of color but nothing will fix my 2 in bangs. But Sue can cut hair… if you can get her. And I can’t speak for her coloring. So disappointed. Won’t be going back.

this place only gets a 1 because the only thing I liked was my hair cut which was pretty simple to do. Anyways, I’ve been to this place 5 times. Every time I go it’s so dirty in that place, dust, dirt, hair all over the place. I highly doubt they clean at the end of the day. And when ever they sweep the floor they do a super quick job leaving half behind so when it’s your turn in the chair you’re sitting in other peoples hair. Sue(the owner) is the WORST! she’s super rough I was almost in tears with how rough she is, she uses the wrong type of comb, she’s doesn’t use condition on women’s hair that we NEED! she uses NO product at all so she’ll fry your hair. She straightens your hair when it’s still damp, She uses combs that she used on other people that’s dirty and what grossed me out, the girl who went before me. Sue dropped her comb on their dirty ass floor… then used it in her hair. Oh and unless you are Asian don’t expect them to be real nice to you. I used them for my back up when I needed to get in and couldn’t anywhere else. But after my last visit, never again. Sue messed up my color too so when i went back to get it fixed she treated me like I was super, I got brown with blonde high lights… pretty simple! Well she didn’t leave the bleach on long enough because she’s ALWAYS in a hurry so my turned orange instead of blonde, she said they were suppose to be like that. Bullshit! So i’ll never go back there again… i’d rather use crappy box color than go there.

Finally find a place where they know how to cut Asian hair. I had been there 3 times and I am happy with the result. I always ask for Sue. This place is cheap each cut cost $ 15 + tips. with is price I can go in often without spent lots of money. Some times you do have to wait because she is busy. If you don’t like waiting try to go during week days in the morning or early after noon.
