Generally, we like Bonefish. A lot. The fish always tastes fresh, service is always good. Waiting for a table is always a bummer. Reservations and coming earlier in the evening are key. Some favorites: Saucy Shrimp, Bang Bang Shrimp and Wagyu Beef & Ginger Potstickers for appetizers. Salads are always fresh and delicious. Bread is ADDICTING! Mahi with Lime Tomato Garlic is my go-to dish, so I thought I’d try the Orange Roughy special. Absolutely wonderful! My dining partner loved his Mahi with veggies. I would say we’ve been to Bonefish probably 50 times all over Florida and have never had a bad meal. Kudos to the Bonefish team!

Bonefish Grill is what I call consistent chain seafood. The food and service are consistently good. I’ve been there 14 or 15 times and have only had marginal service once. Tonight Jamie waited on us and she was nothing short of stellar. The kind of service you leave a huge tip for, even though everyone kept their clothes on :) The appetizers are delish. We had two orders of the saucy shrimp, and one order of the Bang band Shrimp. It didn’t disappoint They were so good and filling we didn’t end up ordering a entrée. Just added drinks for a really nice time. The only downside is the wait. Being a popular restaurant the stated wait time was over an hour. We were fortunate to be running with good karma though and walked right into a seat in the bar area. It was a little louder that I would have liked, but we also didn’t wait an hour to be seated. Would have chewed my arm off if I waited an hour for food and a drink. The bartender was on tonight. My Grandfather always said a drink isn’t worth drinking f you can’t taste the alcohol. Let’s just say… The drinks were right on. Over all — Great food, atmosphere, service, and drinks. I’ll be going back for sure.

I have been to this Bonefish grill location 2 times so far and find that the food consistently has been cooked to perfection. As a Pescatarian(seafood only eater) I’m very particular how I like my fish cooked and this location has done a great job with that! For fresh fish this is your best choice in Gainesville, at least for now. Bonefish offers fish such as salmon, Ahi tuna, mahi mahi, talapia, sea bass, trout, sea scallops, fish and chips, the infamous bang bang shrimp tacos, and oysters just to mention a few. Even seasonally items such as stone crab claws. They always carry lobster tails as well. Choosing your dish: once you chose your item menu such as salmon dish, you then get to chose how you want it prepared, example(pan Asian, mango salsa, herb pesto, lemon butter, and for a small up charge Oscar-style) my personal favorite is the pan Asian. if your a teriyaki fan this is great! Most people would complain that Bonefish serving sizes are smaller and I do agree, however with that being said. You do leave the restaurant feeling comfortable rather then overly full and extra heavy. The service: at this location within the 2 times I been here first time our servers was perfect. Very attentive and knowledgeable of what’s going on within the menu. The second time it was very basic. So I would give it hit or hit service for now. But nothing bad. We haven’t had to wait either time we came. Dessert: the infamous flourless brownie is amazing! Get it! You will not regret it! This bonefish grill has my approval for recommendations! Enjoy!

Service there is good. But the food its not something special. Beng beng shrimp? U better eat few of them or the sauce will kill your stomach. French fries greesy and over salted. No every like salt or peper too much. Bang Bang shirmp tacos bored. And again the sauce is just too much to strong. Not every time too much of something mean its good. Lilis chicken. look good but again too much goat cheese and goat chees have strong taste so u kill it all in mouth. Tartar sauce? No idea where this come from but dill dont match tartar sauce. And finally pomegranate martini … Lord love me but this drink is not good. Sweet plain drink with 3 bored grapes. Nothing what will get u something what push u want more of it.

This was my first time at Gainesville’s location but I’ve been to others before. This is also my first review of any restaurant, ever. I went here for dinner after work by myself and sat at the bar. I received fantastic service from the bartenders Kevin and Brittany but more than anything witnessed the great service they gave to everyone else as well. The man next to me never complained about his food but was not entirely happy with it when asked. A manager immediately came up and brought him a brand new dish without hesitation or making him feel awkward about the situation. Minutes later a few people sat down at the bar next to me and the bartenders immediately new them by name. Being new to Gainesville, it is nice to see this friendly inviting staff and will definitely come back. Plus the food is always good.

I love to come here when I want a good meal at a decent price and I’m not in a rush. This is a large BFG and the servers have a long walk to bring out each plate for each customer they have. Add to that any beverage refills and condiments and it could take some time. I have never had a bad meal here and repeated entrees have been consisted in preparation and presentation. If you’re not aware, they serve a mean brunch on Sunday That I’m particularly fond of. I’ve had most everything on it and the price is right. However I must say my favorite item on the menu is a dessert item. The flourless macadamia brownie is the ultimate. Service is always top notch and two of the servers that have stood out are Christian and Blake. Incredible!

Outstanding. Great selection of cold beer, and liquors. Excellent service at the bar. I had beef fajitas, they were excellent. I followed that with Capn Jacks burried treasure ice cream cake drenched in melted chocolate. OMG. I will return.

I think it’s a bit pricey, especially when I’m on a graduate school budget but when I do go, it’s always on a Wednesday! They have their bang bang shrimp(the best thing on the menu I personally think) at a cheaper price. It sort of reminds me of the spicy cream chicken at bento(which I love) because it’s battered and fried and then tossed in this really good spicy and sweet sauce. Their bread is unlimited, which you dip in this pesto olive oil dipping. I always end up asking for refills bc well, I love bread lol.

Bang Bang Shrimp was really delicious, Filet Mignon was also good. The waiter was polite and gracious. Briefly, I enjoyed my meal and had a good time there…

It is very unfortunate that I write this review. This is my second and last time eating at Bonefish Grill. I had a take out order. I will start with the Good: The Bread was great, warm and soft. Now the rest. I ordered Calamari– it was salty and over cooked. Tasted burned A total waste of my $ 9.90. I also ordered the Bang Bang Shrimp, as this was the special today. It was ok, not something I would order from here. I have had this dish elsewhere and the shrimp is crispy, mine lacked any kind of crisp. Spent $ 16 here and the best thing was the complimentary bread and pesto oil. A ruined dinner.

This restaurant was really excellent! The food was cooked well and presented properly! The service friendly and professional. We enjoyed the spicy tuna salad and pork chops, all of which could not have been any better! We had eaten here years ago and had forgotten what a top notch restaurant this is! We plan to go back with friends soon!

While in Gainesville we quickly found that there aren’t many original and privately owned restaurants in this area, 99% of the dining options are chain restaurants, so we decided to stop in Bonefish Grill, which is is pretty good for a chain restaurant, professional service, a nice list of specialty cocktails and a great menu that includes a large selection of small plates to share. The food is excellent, everything is prepared fresh, quality is consistent which is key as to why Bonefish grill is such a great restaurant. This location has a large dining room, a large bar and bar tables/lounge area. We like to seat at the bar, and all of the bartenders are friendly and attentive. I love the variety of the small plates on the new Bar menu, the Rockefeller are delicious with a beautiful presentation as the oysters are placed on a bowl of rock salt, the pork Dim Sum Style Slider Buns are delicious and the Ocean Trust Tropic Heat Martini specialty cocktail(vodka house-infused with pineapples, freshly muddled mango, lemon juice + a thin slice of jalapeño) is by far my favorite plus if you order it they donate $ 1 for each drink to an Ocean Trust foundation, It thought that was very cool. Food 4 stars Ambiance 4 stars Service 4 stars

I showed up here with no reservations and was seated within 10 min. The place had a very pleasant atmosphere and that combined with some amazing food makes this place a must visit. I had some amazing white fish prepared«dynamite style» which was xtra spicy and awesome! Ended dinner with some crème brule which was also prepared excellently. Definitely one of the better dining establishments in Gainesville.

Probably deserves closer to 3.5 stars. I usually only come for Happy Hour and eat in the bar. They start you off with fresh bread and olive oil, which is perfect. The food could be slightly slow when they are crowded but that doesn’t bother me because they have a good deal on drinks and food during happy hour. My husband really enjoys their burgers and I love their bang bang shrimp especially since it comes over a bed of lettuce. All in all it’s great place to unwind on a Wednesday or Thursday after work. Everything on their menu isn’t to die for but they have some good things.

The fish choices on the lunch menu was limited to 1 entrée and 1 sandwich. Only one side is included with the order with only three sides to choose from. The service was kind of slow, even though the place was almost empty.

I am at fault. I ordered a salad at a seafood place. The said, the salad did not even come as advertised. No avocado. Little dressing. Management was kind enough to take it off my bill. Great mojitos though.

Not a huge fan of chains but this restaurant actually pretty nice. I can’t give a full 5 because of the chain portion BUT I will give 4 because of the service! Menu is good, there are plenty of healthy options(edamame hummus and tuna steak are delicious)!!! I’ve never had to wait long, even when they tell you it’s a 55min wait, it’s usually 20. Grab a drink at the bar and see Missy(the bar manager) she is awesome! Super nice, she always remembers me, she makes a great drink and is fun to talk to! They have a Sunday brunch now that is also a great deal with a nice menu!

Ate here while passing through on a road trip. You won’t find the place by looking near the sign at the roadside. The restaurant is not a freestanding building as you might think, but is the corner spot of one of the huge strip centers behind it. Really, the shopping plaza this place is in is ridiculous. Every person in Gainesville must have been driving there by the time we were leaving. Drive carefully! Despite the restaurant being nearly empty when we arrived, the hostess tried to sit us next to another table full of people, which immediately raises my ire. Our waiter was sharp and moved things along swiftly, though. The crusty bread with basil olive oil for dipping is always good to start. Tilapia in lemon butter sauce was very good as an entrée. This location is maddening(the road traffic and parking lot would keep me away if I lived here, though it seems like everything else you’d need in town is along this same drag too). The seating situation annoys me no matter where I go. But the food is generally good. You can do a lot worse than Bonefish for a seafood meal.
