This is a nice place, was super crowded during the graduation week. Food was served in huge portions. We had a really good time here. Service was a little slow. The ambiance was good and food was slightly on the expensive. The noodles and the curry were really good.

Visiting Gator country, this place looked very cute. Down the road there is an Indian restaurant name Peacock and next to that is a Chinese restaurant with a Japanese name so I can see why it is hard to make a decision where to go. But, Chopstix is the one that looked open for lunch with a dozen cars parked in the lot. I came here only for the boba tea which they had a big sign which they have a nice variety but not many. They include coconut, Thai tea, green tea, mocha, and durian. Now, that’s authentic if they serve durian boba tea but I’m sure it is in powder form for durian is so smelly as a fruit that it smells like old old socks that were outside after a storm. The patio was overlooking Biven Arms lake but was too warm to stay outdoors so we went inside. Their menu looked great to try their food so I will be back when I visit Gator country again.

The food was so so but the service is why I won’t return. Went to this place with a co-worker today and it seemed nice until our waitress came. Beware if you have any issues with the food they have a so called policy that makes it the customers fault. I ordered soup my friend ordered salad yet we got two salads. I decided I wouldn’t say anything cause I was thinking of a salad so I just ate it. But then when my spring rolls came out and they had chicken in them, I ask for them to be taken off my bill because spring rolls don’t usually have meat in them and Im actually allergic to it. Instead of it being a simple«no problem» like you would have gotten at any other restaurant in town, I got a lecture about how it was my fault. I told her that in all the other restaurants in town spring rolls do not have meat and that the description was not on the menu. The waitress continued to tell me that they have been in business for over 20yrs and their going to be different than all the other restaurants in town. I simply stated that no one was arguing that and that the description was not on the menu. She then goes and gets a menu and points to the spring roll section where it says spring roll or veggie spring roll. Continuing on with her the customer is always wrong agenda. Again no description, again why the attitude? She then told me that I still need to pay for the spring rolls but she’ll bring me the veggie rolls instead. FINE! Are you kidding me… you lost a possible returning customer for a $ 4 menu item return. Not a smart business move. Lived in Gainesville for 10+years have never eaten here and will never again. If you want Japanese go to Dragonfly the service is great and the food blows this food out of the water.

I’ve been a regular here for 4 years and it’s my favorite Asian fusion place in Gainesville. Everything on the menu is delicious, but I regularly order the Tom Kha and Beef Phở. Sushi is great quality and the view on the lake is beautiful.

This is my favorite Asian place. I was going here at least once a week. The food has ALWAYS been good here… until the past two time I went. I think they might have hired a new chef because the food has tasted different. The pad Thai is out of this world and is always my go to. They have a huge variety on their menu and it should not be a problem to suit many different asian tastes(if you go with people who are picky). The Tom kha soup, wonton soup and miso are all very good. The Chinese Lomein was also banging. Speaking of banging, their bang bang shrimp is also delicious. I hope when I go again it the food can taste like it always has. On another note: The service isn’t the best. They have 4 different people that serve you throughout one trip: Someone to take your drink order. Another to take your order then a random runner to bring you your food. Then sometimes a different server to bring you the check. It just feels very complicated and not very personable. I really am for this place I just wish they would step up their game a little bit because I know they can do better. Next time i go I will update. Hopefully can give 4 stars again.

It’s places like this that make me sad. Everything I have ever eaten from here has been great. The service, and competency level of the staff is a joke though. I’m done with this place, I don’t feel that the hassle is worth putting up with any longer. On several occasions I have waited for over 20 minutes at a table to never even get a glass of water, the last of which I got up and left. Of course the dim service staff had no idea, even though I walked past 3 of them on the way out. Side note on this they were not even busy. The last three times we have gotten food from here we figured we would get take out. That hasn’t gone much better. Today is the second time they have given me meat in a vegetarian meal. As someone who spent many years working in the food and hospitality industry, I can call this place a disgrace without any qualms. Get your act together or close the doors.

Chop Stix is one of those places that has been hit or miss for me. Today was one of those so so days. The place was packed when my friends and I went so the wait took a while, maybe like 20 minutes. Once we were seated, it became evident that they were understaffed. This meant that service was not exactly the most efficient and mistakes were made. For example we ordered 4 appetizers but only 3 came out. The 4th one only came out after asking our server twice and even then, the appetizer came out after our meal was done. It might as well have been dessert at that point! Additionally, one of my friends asked for a level 7 spice on his Pad Thai. But when all of our Pad Thai dishes came out, none of them were spiced, which was disappointing. However, despite those setbacks and miscommunication, the food was done pretty good. All of the appetizers were fried and cooked well. I was pleasantly surprised by how crispy my band bang lobster and calamari were while being extremely tender still. Overall, it was a very ok experience. The food was good but some work needs to be done in regards to service and communication.

Easily my favorite restaurant in Gainesville. EVERYTHING is good. If you’re a Chopstix newbie, get a noodle bowl(Pad Thai, Pad Kee Mow, and; Rad Nar are incredible). With outdoor seating by the lake and great food, you can’t go wrong. Simply Delicious.

Excellent asian fusion, good selection, ideal setting on a lake. The phở is great. I usually have either the pad Thai, phở, or a variety of sushi. It’s fun to sit outside as the sun sets and you can see alligators swimming in the lake. The prices are reasonable as well. They do take out. My one complaint is the service. I rarely have good or friendly service, which is why I sometimes choose other asian fusion places to go to with friends or family members who don’t like bad service. I’ve learned to love Chop Stix despite it’s mediocre service because it has other redeeming qualities.

Food has always been solid I like their samplers more than the other menu items. Tofu is well seasoned. Their pad Thai is also delicious. My only complaint is the noise… it gets very loud when the dining room is full. Update: Food is inconsistent, music is kitschy and distracting(90s R&B love songs played too loudly), weird staff and vibe.

I travel for work so I try to find fun and interesting local places to eat. This place was great! Amazing view, drinks, and food! Not to mention the staff was super friendly! I had the southside sling and the Thai ginger grouper. I would say it’s the best dinner I’ve had so far this trip!

I love coming here! The portions are huge and very delicious. Not once have we left ChopStix with any regret, aside from wishing we could have more! Yes, sometimes service is slow, but it’s not because they’re inattentive or rude. This is a very popular place to eat on the weekends, so if they do take long, it’s only because they’re packed and they take the time to make things fresh. I’ve had several different dishes here and they have all been amazing.

The food here is reasonably prices and quite tasty. if you get a chance make sure to to eat at thebppace instead of just take-away like I do, because it is located by a small lake with a great view. I loved the fact that titi’s café originated from this place. Come here to get your Vietnamese fix lol

I have been to Chop Stix a few times by now and I am generally very impressed. If you go there, try to sit outside, because you can sit by the lake. I have attached a picture when we sat outside and had Sushi. Location: Conveniently on 13th street, about 5 minutes drive from UF campus. There is plenty of parking right outside the building. The restaurant is by the a lake, which is very nice during the day. At night, since there are no lights, you can’t see the lake. Also, do not sit outside during sunset, because the mosquitoes will eat you up alive. The food: The food can sometimes be a hit or miss, so don’t try to go to crazy with what you order(their menu is quite extensive). I’ve tried their Sushi and it’s very good, but it can take a while to come out. The Pad-Thai is good, but the soups are pretty bad(I had some spicy Thai house soup and it was pretty horrible actually). My friends got the KungPao chicken which was very good too. The service: Again, hit or miss. I’ve been lucky most of the time, but I’ve heard different stories. The service can definitely be a bit inattentive and not very knowledgeable. Other staff members are very nice and funny. Depends on who you get I guess Overall tips: Go there for lunch and sit outside and order the Sushi.

Went here Sunday for dinner and food was great. I got the spicy duck middle soup and my husband got the chicken and shrimp pad Thai. both our food was great. Price was good… we got 2 dishes, a beer, a sprite, 2 appetizers, and a bubble tea(which was my first time trying one… always have wanted to. I got the Tacro root(?spelling) and our total with a 18% tip was $ 57.88. Staff was nice and knew about the food. There was one young guy, I think he is a waiter/hostess, I think there were too many people there for him to handle but a guy I think is the manager was the one who helped us the most. 4 stars bc I had to go get a bigger soup to go container myself. I asked for a to go container and he brought the smallest size which the rest of my soup would not fit in and I had to ask for a bag on the way out.

Bad Service, Bad Service and at the moment you think it might chang… no, Bad Service and mediocre food. It was a fail Chop Stixs. We waited for service most of the time and when food came, it was unappealing and unappetizing to gulp down. Fresh Publix sounded better when I touched and bit into our summer roll, it was nasty sticky and brown iceberg lettuce is not garnish! Boba teas have dairy? silk? soy? what is it?! write the ingredients so we find no surprises. Did I mention your service was so bad! I expect better from Chop Stixs, but then again, your other location didn’t make it for a reason. $ 40 on 2 person lunch for bad service and overall mediocre past its prime food. Clearly a note to your unkept restuarant and service value.

I have ordered several times and am mostly disappointed. Today the Pad Thai was bland and dry even though I ordered medium spicy. Calamari iwas greasy, soggy and not crispy… My recommendation is look elsewhere…

I ordered from here via a delivery place in gainesville. I ordered Thai food and that does not look like thai food. It looks like chinese mei fun. Greasy at that. Nausea lasted about 12 hours. I just don’t like it. Won’t eat from there again.

Pretty mediocre food, that wasn’t very authentic. I’ve never had a Pad See Ew with thin glass noodles. The calamari that came out was chewy, soggy and cold(i.e. had been cooked too long before hand). The Tom Ka Gai, was a weird cream of mushroom soup. Just a very weird restaurant that has unintionally mixed up their dishes.
